@sutinrongwithu Yes you are right but the track is not as it was....This track used to be one of the F1 highlights of the year until 2001 massive long straights through forests of over 200mph making it one of the fastests tracks on the F1 calender; from 1968 to 1986 the track had claimed 5 lives IT WAS FAST! and dangerous .... After 2001 i decided to stop watching it. I thought it was more exciting to weed the garden.
Music to my ears :) Don't know if someone said it already, but just open simultaneously two or more windows with this sound, let them run at the same time and you have a bloody SYMPHONY.
@ssj5devilhunter666 Montoya reached 372km/h (231mph) in 2005 at Monza. Set up for pure top speed, and with a big enough straight, it wouldnt need a turbo at all, and without a rear wing the BAR got 252mph on the salt flats.
tomorrow a scuderia ferrari at rotterdam city racing with marc gene performing..defenitely going over to watch the performance and exorb the sound of that car
Like button is not enough for this, where is "Fuckin' Amazin" Button? Really, this is an awesome sound... even when i don't have memories of it (I was born in 1991, and raised with V10 and V8 motors), i can say this is awesome
If you havnt all ready heard the porsce carrera gt V10 with stright pipes go check it out now! the video is from "brianzuk" now that thing soundslike an F1 car! 5.4 million views tell you summat..
I can't believe they're going to 1.6L w/turbos in lieu of the pure showmanship sound of perfect balance with a billion cylinders embodied in these 12's. How can they miss the appeal of this when they think of people wanting to see/pay for this sport? The morons!
1.- Because the higher number of cylinders, the trebler is the sound (for the same volume, of course)
2.- Because in tha season, the volume of the engines was downsized from 3.5L to 3.0L; and here too, the less size, the pitcher the "music" (at equal number of cylinders).
Brief, in that engine converged the two causes making sound the engine trebler.
I can´t imagine how would be his sound today, with 17K rpm. Amazing, no doubt
The current engines are 2.4L V8s with 180 degree crank. If we cut the engine in half to make a 1.2L V4, the engine would make almost exactly the same noise.
The sound an engine makes is determined primarily by the crankshaft which controls the firing order, and the engine speed in rpm. If F1 changed the crankshaft/firing-order regulations, they could make the 2.4L engines sound like high-revving NASCAR or they could make them sound even more peaky and rev happy than the 412 V12s.

V8's sound shit nowadays, they sounded good back in the turbo charged era of the mid to late 80's but then they introduced the V10's and V12's which sound even better! V12's are best sounding ever, the closest you can get to experiencing this now is Superleague Formula they are all identical V12 engines producing 750bhp but at only around 12,000rpm so about the same is the current F1's for hp but more like GP2's in terms of rpm output, tame compared with this which was around 900bhp @ 19,000rpm
@ghurghust yes and in 2013 F1 will be shit because they will even change to 1.6 liter 4 cylinder twin turbo engines. F1 is turning into fucking greenpeace
@mortenholstebro But the thing is, sound matters ALOT to some people. The V8's from 206-2088 ('06 in particular) were quite good sounding; they actually sounded powerful. The V10's from the previous 2 years in particular were brilliant, and this V12 was also. ANY of those engines could have been fitted with a Turbo and used as the standard, but they werent. That is the point. (well, a V12 with todays technology and a Turbo would be frightning, the un turbo charged late V10's made nearly 1000hp..
@mortenholstebro Now if only we could re-introduce the 1.5 litre v16 engines of ye olde BRM days! I think that the 2013 regs should certainly limit the displacement to 1.5 litres, but limit the no. of cylinders to 4? Aww, shame... The V12 and V10 era were the greatest when it cam to F1 sound. @cheesefruit200 wow screw the FIA its time to move on guys, I guess Indycar and nascar will be the pinacle of motorsports, Even Gp2 cars will be better than F1 when this happens. Why the hell must I pay lots of money or waste time watching f1 on tv when my car has a more powerful engine than an f1 car.
The downshifts are pretty solid.

Why is this engine so higher pitched when it was only doing around14 to 15 thousand revs?
SlicertekPictures0 10 months ago
@SlicertekPictures0
The answer is easy:
1.- Because the higher number of cylinders, the trebler is the sound (for the same volume, of course)
2.- Because in tha season, the volume of the engines was downsized from 3.5L to 3.0L; and here too, the less size, the pitcher the "music" (at equal number of cylinders).
Brief, in that engine converged the two causes making sound the engine trebler.
