I was at that game and been to many since the auburn game this year was almost as loud as that one. Def loudest ive ever heard the crowed and in overtime my ears were ringing..Had no voice by the end of that one too bad clemson lost. GO TIGERS!
@jake302114 It doesn't matter how big the stadium is; it matters how loud the fans are and how the stadium is built. Death Valley is built in a Valley and it is really steep. GO TIGERS!!!
Husky stadium is hands down the loudest stadium in the country. It's reached the highest decibels ever in the history of college football. it got to 134 decibals and the swamp and death valley of LSU, came in 2nd and 3rd with like 130 and 128.
@encycl07pedia That's weird because our scoreboard says 31 wins to Miami with FSU struggling to catch up with 25. That and the 5 National Championships to 2 scoreboard. I plan to be a board certified physician well before a tie is mathematically possible and I haven't even applied to medical school...
@encycl07pedia lol is right. Unfortunately, it is true that we lose to ACC bottom feeders like Maryland (with players suspended) and Virginia...wait, now I'm hearing that FSU lost to Virginia too, and also to a powerhouse Wake Forest team to cap a 3 game skid. Leave to a panhandler to make insults that can be used against them as well.
@basoon64 Ok you're going to have to be more specific. You're the third FSU fan to take objection with the colorful nature of my language and I would just like to be clear before the argument (that I will win) commences.
@basoon64 You're free to read this exact argument that I already made and supported with long term success. I'm tired of going back and forth with you motherfuckers though; I just finished finals, I'm tired of everything. I'm going home to Dade County tomorrow and that's all that matters. Merry Christmas and goodnight.
@Gunnz287 Not as mad as you following a routine check of any of the important all-time scoreboards. You do have public records in the panhandle, don't you?
"In 2005, the outdoor stadium noise record of 121 decibels set by LSU fans in Tiger Stadium was broken by Clemson fans as the Tigers lost a thrilling three-overtime game to the Miami Hurricanes with a noise of 126 decibels, louder than a Boeing 747 taking off." -Wikipedia College Football Encyclopedia
@kaseymariewithak Clemson never set the stadium noise record. That game was in 2007 and the record "Husky Stadium" was in I believe 92. They beat Clemson by about 1.2-1.3 decibels. Not saying Clemson ins't loud, but just because your up there for 1 game doesn't make it hard to play in like most Clemson fans think. I wouldn't trust Wikipedia either, considering that's wrong. ESPN would be a more reliable source for trying to tell LSU & USC fans to stfu because your wrong.
@bahdahdoop Are you serious? Clemson's facilities are ten times better than USC. Our stadium is nestled in the foothills on campus where Williams Brice is in the ghetto of Columbia where if you go down the wrong street you might get shot. Clemson holds two of the top five loudest db ratings ever recorded.
@cutiger1986 I was talking about the atmosphere. I've been to games in both stadiums and when WB is rocking it's way louder and crazier, IMO. If you want to talk overall facilities, I suggest you look into what USC has built the last few years. Ours are among the best in the country and are a big reason why our recruiting has vastly improved. I do respect what Clemson has done as a program, but USC is really surpassing them in a lot of ways and in many different sports.
@bahdahdoop SC isn't even mentioned as one of the loudest or hardest places to play..and one 9-5 season won't do that for you. (especially since your about to vacate those wins) but the only reason it looks like billy brice is "crazier" is because the whole student section is waving those towels which gives the effect the crowd is actually moving. Do you know what the Valley would look like if we all waved towels?
During the 3rd down play in this vid, Clemson's crowd was recorded as the 2nd loudest in outdoor sports history. The original Death Valley. The loudest Death Valley. Go Tigers!
@101gamecock ........we have to let you guys win at least 2 so you don't feel like complete losers. That would be the only 2 out of the last 11 games......and WE lead the series.
@101gamecock....CLEMSON : Series lead 65-39-4, academically better, more team history/tradition, more players drafted into NFL, has bigger fan base, has a bigger and louder stadium, has won 6 of the last 10 meetings, has a winning record @ Williams-Brice Stadium, has more conference championships, has more national championships..63-17. SOUTH CAROLINA : let me guess, plays in SEC??...Wooopty doo
@YouthfulEquity well in autzen there's like 90,000 right? i think penn state is loud every night but the game against osu this year got reaaaly fuckin loud at autzen.probably louder than penn.
@YouthfulEquity ok more like 61,000 on a good day 55,000 was a bit of a stretch but the point is were really loud, and if we were fortunate enough to have a big ass stadium like penn state we would be hands down the loudest stadium every year.
@YouthfulEquity No you wouldn't...Lane is louder than Death Valley on Thursday nights by far with only 67K fans if the stadium is packed. With 80K-90K VT would definitely have the loudest stadium.
@psmith5353 Haha, it's been loud the past 5 times VT beat Clemson. 2 of the times were in your so called, "one of the loudest stadiums in the country." See you in the ACC Championship if we beat GT.
Funny how the Hurricanes are in this. Their old Orange Bowl STILL holds the record for the longest home winning streak: 58 games and 9 seasons. Death Valley will never even come close.
They didn't join the Big East until 1990. Before that hey had some of the tougher non-conference schedules anywhere: Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame all came in year after year and lost. The Orange Bowl was where #1 teams and defending national champs went to die. Florida pussied out in '87. They couldn't take the losses anymore.
your 2nd clip is very misleading however. cuz the quality is very clearly not too great which makes it sound louder than it is...... besides georgia would rock yall any day of the week. much less ANY S.E.C. team...... GO DAWGS
@hbarr2639 actually kid, clemson's death valley (the original death valley) is the second loudest stadium ever, behind huskey stadium. an sec team, lsu, comes in third. your dawgs aren't even in the top ten. stop being jealous.
Somebody turned up the track with the crowd noise. It's distorted obviously tampered with to seem louder than it was. (which was loud in the first place).
@09WhiteKnoll just go look up the blackout vs florida in 2001 and u will see. and if u do then u should know the pressbox other than the windows is supposed to be sound proof
@HoustonLonghorn15 This broke the sound barrier record for loudest stadium. Now it is number 2 behind Oregon..... So I guess we have the #2 loudest stadium of all time. We dont think it is loud, We know it is loud. Louder than whoever you cheer for
you all are so friekin stupid. Clemson is definitely overhyped every season. Clemson thinks theyre hot crap because they down crappy acc schools when the sec is head and shoulders above the acc. I think this will be the first and last time clemson memorial stadium will sound like this. While the real death valley is in baton rouge and no one stands a chance there. Williams brice has pretty much past clemson memorial
dont hate, clemson just does it right...end of story.
if clemson had lower academic restrictions and hoarded as much talent as LSU does, they would be top 5 every year. And yet year after year Clemson puts a similar level of play out on the field...clemson does more with their talent than LSU bar none. Also Clemson isnt over-hyped, the usually exceed the prognosticators picks, but since they have great fans, idiots often confuse fan interest with being overhyped.
@thaatsright haha sounds like ur just jelous of LSU....LSU does great with their atheletes....we have national titles to back that up so dont hate on us there....and Clemson doesnt have greater fans....every college has great fans....and i assure you that Clemson doesn't have better atmosphere than LSU. and about playing South Carolina every year and beating them...you lost to every SEC team you played this year so can it. only team you beat worth even mentioning is NC state.....you guys suck.
Clemson has better fans/atmosphere than LSU, and does way more with the talent they bring on campus....Clemson plays SEC opponent South Carolina every year, and generally owns them. This year Clemson is 2-2 in the ACC yet had #1 SEC Auburn beat at their place, but they barely escaped by getting some homecooking calls. Clemson also has higher standards when it comes to student athletes, and actually graduates their players, which is huge considering 99% of college players never make it to the NFL
@thaatsright Glad someone else saw the BS calls in that Auburn game. Auburn's first score in particular stands out, where Auburn got away with 2 holds and a facemask on one play. But these same refs who missed all of that just happened to catch a slight flinch by Clemson's center on the final kick?
BTW, why did they get to have their own conference's refs for a home game? UF got the same treatment last year. I'm starting to wonder how much the SEC is paying the NCAA...(insert pro-SEC BS here)
@dirtmerchant1980 You do know that LSU took Death Valley from Clemson. LSU was originally known as "Deaf Valley" because nobody could here in it. You idiotic "mofos" down their in swamp country thought that the nickname was Death Valley so who is the phony ass?
@brad469grilled Actually, Deaf Valley came after Death Valley. People tried to switch the name from death to deaf to distinguish it from Clemson, but it never caught on. But, in any case, LSU's stadium > Clemson's stadium. Geaux Tigers.
@brad469grilled ok, so you got a stadium full of deaf people. Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge is DEATH for opponets. Clemson,,, pbtthhh.. hardly even real football
@brad469grilled you know what it don't even have to be all that name calling and shit its so fucking ridiculos so what deaf death it dont matter lsu has a more historic and historied team than clemson u can be death valley and still lose....but lsu are the real death valley and they have the titles to prove it......
@brad469grilled He's right, Tiger Stadium was originally known as "Deaf Valley". I don't remember when everyone started calling it Death but it it fits Tiger Stadium better anyway. ;)
@clemsonsks LSU has Death Valley originally called Deaf Valley because of the noise level but later called Death Valley due to it's crushing defense year after year.
I live next to clemson, go to every game. its so loud. i can hear it from my house some games i dont go to, and i live like 5-8 minutes away. especially on night games. its so great.
The name "Death Valley" was not stolen from any other stadium or university. The stadium is built in the lowest place on campus, and has a graveyard that used to overlook the field until we put in an upper deck. They used to bury the opponent's mascot in the graveyard before the games. Also, an opponent's coach helped coin the term after his team had lost for many years against the tigers.
@carroln yea, he is, and yet we still produce better than poor old clemson! O and we're in the most dominant conference in the past 10 years and still manage to do better than clemson, dont dare mess with the heart of the TRUE death valley! GEAUX TIGERS!
@geauxtigers16 You're obviously not a true LSUAMC fan. If you were, you would know that LSUAMC's stadium was actually named Deaf Valley, not Death Valley, and it got the name Death Valley because some idiotic announcer got Clemson and LSUAMC's stadiums mixed up. Oh, and I'm watching the PSU bowl game from last year. So beautiful.
@carroln whether not it was intended to be death valley, is irrelevant. It is death valley now, and it gets soooo much louder here. And yes i was aware of the fact that some announcer made a mistake. I am pretty sure however, that it does not say Deaf Valley on our stadium, so try again. And about last year's bowl, we played Penn State, which is an impressive team, whereas you played kentucky and squeaked out an 8 point victory. Congratulations at barely beating one of the worst SEC teams.
Ok first off, im not cajun, your an idiot jumping to conclusions. Second off, we didnt steal shit, and good for you for stealing shit from auburn, but we dont.
@KCG444 Incorrect. John Heisman coached at Auburn first. Named them the Tigers. Then coached at Clemson and borrowed the name. It's well documented. If you're going to defend Clemson, at least be learned about them you sidewalk graduate.
@geauxtigers16 you wouldn't be such a great conference if your players actually had to take their classes without being spoon-fed like a 3 month old baby. if there were any academic standards at sec schools they would be horrific, just listen to half of their players talk...
@geauxtigers16 maybe from the public high schools where you can sleep all day and still pass, and i know florida's standards are not 4.0 because you only have to get a 3.5 cumulative gpa to get into brown
HAHAHA...ya gotta love Cory Groover's spirit #7

4) Oregon's Autzen Stadium: 127.2 Db
5) Clemson's Death Valley: 126 Db

Can you at least give Clemson credit for being TIED with Husky Stadium @ 132.6 Db (against BC 2007) according to ESPNs decibel readings:
(Let's not forget the fifth loudest ever measured was this game at 126 db).

@HoustonLonghorn15 This broke the sound barrier record for loudest stadium. Now it is number 2 behind Oregon..... So I guess we have the #2 loudest stadium of all time. We dont think it is loud, We know it is loud. Louder than whoever you cheer for

@bizzyb1999 To answer my own question they lost 30-36 in triple OT... Kenny Philips made the game winning pick, and Devin Hester is the shit.

you all are so friekin stupid. Williams brice has pretty much past clemson memorial
jacksonarnold96 1 year ago
ummmmm how does williams bryce stadium sound haha sounds great 2 me

dont hate, clemson just does it right...end of story.
if clemson had lower academic restrictions and hoarded as much talent as LSU does, they would be top 5 every year. And yet year after year Clemson puts a similar level of play out on the field...clemson does more with their talent than LSU bar none. Also Clemson isnt over-hyped, the usually exceed the prognosticators picks, but since they have great fans, idiots often confuse fan interest with being overhyped.
thaatsright 1 year ago
@thaatsright haha sounds like ur just jelous of LSU....LSU does great with their atheletes....we have national titles to back that up so dont hate on us there....and Clemson doesnt have greater fans....every college has great fans....and i assure you that Clemson doesn't have better atmosphere than LSU. and about playing South Carolina every year and beating them...you lost to every SEC team you played this year so can it. only team you beat worth even mentioning is NC state.....you guys suck.
Spacenutz 1 year ago 3
@thaatsright well there is a certain level of stupidity you have to gain before you can be accepted at an sec school
letsgoduke15 1 year ago
Clemson has better fans/atmosphere than LSU, and does way more with the talent they bring on campus....Clemson plays SEC opponent South Carolina every year, and generally owns them. This year Clemson is 2-2 in the ACC yet had #1 SEC Auburn beat at their place, but they barely escaped by getting some homecooking calls. Clemson also has higher standards when it comes to student athletes, and actually graduates their players, which is huge considering 99% of college players never make it to the NFL
thaatsright 1 year ago
@thaatsright Glad someone else saw the BS calls in that Auburn game. Auburn's first score in particular stands out, where Auburn got away with 2 holds and a facemask on one play. But these same refs who missed all of that just happened to catch a slight flinch by Clemson's center on the final kick?
BTW, why did they get to have their own conference's refs for a home game? UF got the same treatment last year. I'm starting to wonder how much the SEC is paying the NCAA...(insert pro-SEC BS here)

@dirtmerchant1980 the real death valley is in California. if you wanna get all technical about it
jtcu4 1 year ago
@dirtmerchant1980 You do know that LSU took Death Valley from Clemson. LSU was originally known as "Deaf Valley" because nobody could here in it. You idiotic "mofos" down their in swamp country thought that the nickname was Death Valley so who is the phony ass?
brad469grilled 1 year ago 34
@brad469grilled Actually, Deaf Valley came after Death Valley. People tried to switch the name from death to deaf to distinguish it from Clemson, but it never caught on. But, in any case, LSU's stadium > Clemson's stadium. Geaux Tigers.
riotinsecondhour 1 year ago 4
@brad469grilled ok, so you got a stadium full of deaf people. Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge is DEATH for opponets. Clemson,,, pbtthhh.. hardly even real football
meth222 1 year ago
@brad469grilled actually a smaller colleges coach who faced Clemson every year named it that

solejunkie09 5 months ago
@brad469grilled He's right, Tiger Stadium was originally known as "Deaf Valley". I don't remember when everyone started calling it Death but it it fits Tiger Stadium better anyway. ;)

@hyattwarris Probably in the late 90s when Saban was there. Before then, LSU was absolutely shit.

clemsonsks 1 year ago
@clemsonsks LSU has Death Valley originally called Deaf Valley because of the noise level but later called Death Valley due to it's crushing defense year after year.

Auburn stated that they got there name from a quote by Coach Heisman which if im not mistaken was a CLEMSON coach. Yeah, Go Tigers!

GEAUX TIGERS!
geauxtigers16 1 year ago
@geauxtigers16 You're obviously not a true LSUAMC fan. If you were, you would know that LSUAMC's stadium was actually named Deaf Valley, not Death Valley, and it got the name Death Valley because some idiotic announcer got Clemson and LSUAMC's stadiums mixed up. Oh, and I'm watching the PSU bowl game from last year. So beautiful.
carroln 1 year ago
@carroln whether not it was intended to be death valley, is irrelevant. It is death valley now, and it gets soooo much louder here. And yes i was aware of the fact that some announcer made a mistake. I am pretty sure however, that it does not say Deaf Valley on our stadium, so try again. And about last year's bowl, we played Penn State, which is an impressive team, whereas you played kentucky and squeaked out an 8 point victory. Congratulations at barely beating one of the worst SEC teams.

@geauxtigers16 We stole most of our stuff from Auburn, you guys stole most your stuff from us. Deal with it you dumb cajun.
WillyMac99 1 year ago
Ok first off, im not cajun, your an idiot jumping to conclusions. Second off, we didnt steal shit, and good for you for stealing shit from auburn, but we dont.
geauxtigers16 1 year ago
@WillyMac99 we didnt steal anything from auburn. they stole from us.
KCG444 1 year ago
@KCG444 Incorrect. John Heisman coached at Auburn first. Named them the Tigers. Then coached at Clemson and borrowed the name. It's well documented. If you're going to defend Clemson, at least be learned about them you sidewalk graduate.
WillyMac99 1 year ago
@WillyMac99 lmfao you just insulted someones intelligence by saying "atleast be learned about them" lmfao you must be a south carolina graduate.

@geauxtigers16 you wouldn't be such a great conference if your players actually had to take their classes without being spoon-fed like a 3 month old baby. if there were any academic standards at sec schools they would be horrific, just listen to half of their players talk...

@letsgoduke15 I guess having to have a 4.0 gpa to get into Florida University classifies as being stupid....

@geauxtigers16 rofl a 4.0 in what, football? there is no fucking way you need a 4.0 to get into florida lol
letsgoduke15 1 year ago
@letsgoduke15 look it up buddy. the average highschool gpa of a student going into florida is 4.0
geauxtigers16 1 year ago
@geauxtigers16 maybe from the public high schools where you can sleep all day and still pass, and i know florida's standards are not 4.0 because you only have to get a 3.5 cumulative gpa to get into brown
