  • this four eyes moron needs to retire

  • "spiritual loss"...it's the other way around douche-bag...

  • Putting people in jail for not harming anyone is a great message to send to kids!

  • that old fuck blows Go Ethan!!!!!!!

  • It's a shame most of the TV interviews with this man are quite short, He always seems to be trying to get out as much information as possible during the short 3-4 minute interviews. Would be great to see a 30minute interview with this guy

  • Ethan Nadelmann is the fuckin BOSSSS!

  • Why are people like this aloud to go on tv?

  • Where do you come up with this stuff...so good!!!

  • Nobody has the right to tell me what I can or cannot put in my body. Nobody. End of story.

  • @Robstailey Exactly, whether a substance is proven to be harmful or not, it should be our own final say if we consume, this is basic human rights. Education over force.

  • @Robstailey you nailed it. That is the end of the argument, or at least should be.

  • so does this mean crack and heroin should be sold at 7-11

  • the dude with the glasses must be making a lot of money. He seems smart but cannot honestly believe in what he is saying.

  • Just think guys, all these out dated 100 year old fucks running our country will be gone soon +D and we will have a younger generation move on in and then LET THE WEED FLOW FREE!!!!!!

  • If everyone were driving while they are stoned, there would be less accidents! " Oh man, I'm driving way too fast" looks down at speedo, Giggles " hey I'm only doing 20"

  • Pot addiction r u fucking kidding me what a joke

  • My pot dealer for president!

  • hahahaha 0:50 if you legalize than crime cost goes up

  • Fuck yeah! Nadelmann just fucked this guy's day up!

  • i bet that guy was a cop during the 60s

  • There are three types of people who support drug prohibition.

    1. Those who legally gain employment, power and/or money by exploiting the victims of the war on drugs (ie. district attorneys, judges, lawyers, police officers, the prison industrial complex)

    2. Those who profit directly from the black market created by prohibition. (gangsters, drug cartels, mafia, etc.)

    3. Mildly retarded people who actually think that the government is protecting her citizens through prohibition.

  • "It's a terrible thing to have a child addicted to marijuana." Ha ha! You can't get addicted to weed! Silly, silly David Evans...

  • Whoever Ethan is debating is dumber than Kwanzaa

  • Drug Free America Association is like having a Unicorn Riders Association of America, total fantasy.

  • have my baby Ethan Nadelmann....

  • How do you get the statistic how many kids are doing pot? 75% don't get caught so u can't have a reliable police statistc.

  • Crime costs? Health care costs? Drug treatment costs? Is this guy a fucking idiot or just dillusional?

  • This man's a genius, and no I'm not talking bout 'O Reilly, he's a bigoted moron.

  • DANCE DAVID EVANS DANCE LIKE THE PUPPET YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sucka my balls David Evans!!!

  • Look up the crime rate in Amsterdam...

  • @liebengood24

Its lower than it was ever before they decriminalized drugs.

  • This debate was fair and balanced. Nice job living up to the slogan for once, FNC.

  • @ThePeacefulTraveler actually if you watch it they always have both sides on the news.

  • pots laws r way to harsh in aus legalize it and there is no problem no money goin to bad people only good people that want to help this world.n smoking weeds not bad as long as u dont work ar drive stoned and do it in your house not that hard

  • When it's legalized, everyone should grow it. No taxes. Fuck taxes.

  • All three of these guys have smoked or do smoke pot, guaranteed. I can't wait until we live in a world where people actually express what they really feel instead of what they think everyone else wants to hear them say. Alcohol is WAY worse than cannabis, everyone knows it, legalize the stuff so that the money goes into the economy and not into the pockets of street dealers.

  • Ethan Nadelmann is a hero

  • Doesn't the Netherlands have one of the lowest crime rates on the planet with one of the highest standards of living (including health)?

  • Legalize legalize legalize!!!!!

  • where the hell dose this guy get his statistics, drug use didn't go up, less people in the Netherlands smoke weed than people in the US, not just in numbers, but in percentage. I think, that it would make sense if it was mandatory for anyone who speaks out against drugs on tv to have smoked weed in the past, because right now, they are all Hippocrates.

  • the netherlands has coffee shops selling drugs where anyone can buy them so easily.

  • double speak, let the crony lie first and then the other guy has to deny.

  • Ethan Nadelmann verbally raped the other guy.

  • NOBODY WANTS TO PROMOTE IT

  • Why spend valuable limited DEA resources on trying to go after marijuana smokers and dealers when we could catch more heroin, cocaine, meth, and crack?

  • its the same thing.

  • Wow... the legalize marijuana campaign has REALLY stepped up its act. I remember a few years ago it was stoners saying, "you can't get addicted to the drug maaan come on."

Now they have lawyers and incredibly articulate lobbyists... I can see where this is going

  • I LOVE YOU ETHAN NADELMANN

  • i love how the non-legalization side's debaters have no common sense.

    YOU GO ETHAN

  • lol I sometimes forget its illegal

  • I light up to that

  • @ddrfrk

I had to use marijuana for pain relief after my father pillaged my asshole with hit 12-inch dong!

  • well keep on smoking

  • Hahaha.

  • @Giveadont

not funny, his cum is still stuck up my ass

  • HAHAHAHA!

  • America needs to end the war against Americans!!!

  • @PipeManChuck

No! That's the best part of it.

  • Wow this old guy is just ridiculising himself in front of millions of spectators

  • did he say michael phelps at the end? haha, what a great example on how weed does not stop you from being the best

  • I love the gateway drug argument.

it is only a gateway drug when you have to buy it illegally.

Where do you buy it from?

    Drug dealers.

Drug dealers deal more than marijuana. They deal addictive drugs, marijuana is not addictive,

The drug dealer wants to get them hooked on something that IS addictive, crack, meth, whatever, so their customer keeps coming back.

Legalise marijuana and it loses it's gateway drug status.

  • Things like "Gateway" and "Addiction" are mental. Marijuana does not naturally cause you to be addicted, and doesn't inspire you to use meth, or heroin.

It's just the environment. Drug dealers are in it for the money, and more likely to try to get you on a harder drug.

You won't beleive me , but I actually smoked a joint to be relaxed after kids at my school hated on me for my weed habit once.

  • khat is the least dangerous psychoactive substance

  • David knows he's full of bullshit. The social costs we have by keeping weed illegal are far more costly than any crap the prohibtionists feed us about making it legal. Then the guy says "spiritual loss"? He knows damn well that cannabis is used to help spiritual awareness. Anyone who says weed is illegal because it's dangerous needs to shut the fuck up and die.

  • What a moron. Marijuana is not addictive. There's a way lower ratio of kids who smoke pot in Netherlands. Regulations on weed don't do shit except put kids in jail for sitting on couches across America eating Doritos.

  • I didn't realize the police were protecting us from spiritual loss these days. Will they be asking us to recite the catechism next? What a maroon.

  • legalize it. so many of my friends have been locked up 4 shit like this... the first time i blazed was at 12 and that is no lie. i bought it from someone in my grade. it is already so easy to get your hands on you might as well just do it so i can blaze in public my house is getting old.

  • ur friends were probably selling it

  • David Evans is a brain dead fuck stick trying to save his favorite bureaucracy!

The poor sad bastard actually believes his own bullshit! He makes Dan Quayle look like a genius, and George W. Bush a fucking scholar!

Everything he said here has been disproven, and he actually turned the, "24% decrease in teenage marijuana use". 180 degrees to beg for money in his organization's own mailings, the very next week!

  • Ethan Nadelmann has to be the most passionate and well spoken advocate for matijuana law reform.

  • the guy in the glasses are fuckers

  • "Ask not want your countrry can do for you, but you can do for your country" John F. Kennedy, we should boycott the large corporations (Alchol & Tobbacco) cause they are the other ones who is involve with this fucking war on drugs. By boycotting them, they have no money to spend on this war on drugs.

    Fuck the DEA!

  • David Evans = pure evil

  • 24 percwnt woopty do that guy is a cerupt guverment.

  • guy with the glasses lives under a fukin rock, its you douche bags who fuk up the world

  • nadlemann is a beast, GO GET EM TIGER

  • wow, his comment about saying that having a pot addicted kid is a horrible thing for a family. what about the alcohalic father who beats the wife and kid? what the fuck are you gonna do about that huh? what in ignorant, conservative fucking douche.

  • Faux news. This is a joke.

  • Ethan Nadelmann won this debate by a long shot. Good job Ethan keep up the good debating!

  • GO ETHAN! tell it like it is!

  • this guy is dumb as shit

NO kid is that stupid to think that smokin pot would get you to become the president

  • insurance, Ok so sox is trying to slam obama by saying is it worth it because 97% of the people already have insurance so is fox saying that the 7% of the people out there are going are going to throw this whole thing out of wack wo 7% is just crazy that will plug up te whole usa hospitals dr's offices etc. Get real if its only 7% it can only help people not clog up the Dr's ofice. So my point is how bad can 7% clog up the sistom.

  • You know whats funny about sox? The lies. Fox and friends came on today and said dont vote for the obama health care plan. There will be large line of people out of controle it will take foe ever in lines. Then in the next few words they said was the funny part, fox says obama wants to rush this health care way to fast he keeps pushing and pushing fox says whats his rush he is lieing on his % it will only help 7% because 93% already have

  • lol dude i cant watch these debates anymore...the anti marijuana people always repeat the same baseless generalities "crime go up" "violence" "marijuana bad".....they just make up stuff.....legalize now!

  • alleluya

  • Weed is not addictive at all. I remember when I used to smoke it every day last year. I stopped now, I think it is about 1 year and a half I didn't touch it.

  • What I hate about the prohibitionists is that they say it's addicting! Marijuana users tend to get deals struck to go to rehab instead of jailtime, and they likewise use those statistics to say "LOOK! MARIJUANA'S ADDICTIVE!" And also, so is alcohol, and definitely tobacco, and those two drugs KILL and yet they're COMPLETELY fine! WTF! This one site I went to said "Marinol's addictive" Synthetic THC, with a little extra most likely to get you hooked so that way you still need that drug!

  • But you know what, Marijuana isn't physically addictive, in fact I have a friend who just recently quit, he doesn't go around fiending for cash for more weed, and this one man on the Washington Post website had actually said his brother just up and quit one day for his job and hasn't touched it since. If it's so physically addictive, how can people just up and quit whenever they damn feel like it! Hell, watch "Super High Me" Stoner Doug Benson went 30 days w/o and said he felt fine!

  • why even use the DFAF advisors? DFAF was, formerly STRAIGHT Inc. Google that and it will blow your mind, literally. These drug free zealots are the problem, not the pot. At least now the country will learn more about the STRAIGHT Inc. nightmare... Betty Sembler, DFAF, ONDCP, yeah, you'll see now!!

Thank you for posting this video.

  • Ha Ha, that wasn't even fair. lol

Fact is drug use in general is a social problem. it's like trying to illegalize poverty. People would still be poor, only difference is they would go to jail for it. keep pot illegalized, and people are still going to smoke it. i think it is funny when people like guy on the right have no real argument so they make shit up and pretend that pot is dangerous. literally pretend. fuckin babies

  • If you stop arresting almost a million people every year, the crime-rate will go up?

    Wheres the logic?

  • 1 the number of children users have not decreased .. about 90% of high skol students still smoke or have tried marijuana

2 keeping it illegal wont prevent people from using it.. and this is the reason many children get involved with gang.. cuz they sell for other kids at skol

but if the govern. makes legal for ages 21+ and at a price dealers have low profit, im sure less r gona smoke and be involved in gangs .. u dont c gangs selling alcohol cuz its hard to make profit, same thing with pot

  • 90% of highschool students ybybz? thats a pretty unrealistic statistic... but still agree with your point though

  • Enlightened passion vs ignorant fear.

  • the funniest thing about this debate is that the legalize side always owns!

  • @stevewr23 They had the same conservative on recently vs a governor politician from NJ i think, and he came off really weak.

After they saw how Nadelmann PWNED this right wing nut job, they put the conservative up against a less educated politician.

Nadelmann is a powerful educated speaker that can take on any conservative. Favorite pot debater, Christopher Hitchens a close second, but he talks on it less frequently.

  • This is making me sick, all the violence in Mexico is all our fault. We're the demand, and the prohibition only creates a price ceiling for the black market criminals. If you support prohibition, BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS. And don't even pretend that law enforcement is interested in arresting stoners.

  • this is the BEST debate i have ever seen, ethan nadelmann needs to be on more news shows.

  • If use goes up....and we're taxing it.....isn't that good?

  • hahaha in holland marijuana use went up...but crime rate went down....he never said that did he?

  • Yeah, Ethan totally won. Those anti drug morons never have any real reasons to keep this drug illegal.

  • The only way we are going to stop the persecution of Marijuana users, under the Obama Administration, is to allow ALL Americans to consume and cultivate without ANY taxation, regulation or other interference. All "tax and regulate" models will not destroy the cartels nor stop the harassment of law abiding pot smokers. Treat Marijuana like "Beer" and not like "hard alcohol." To understand how this could be achieved as early as 2009 go to:

    NewAgeCitizen

and then click on "MERP Headquarters"

  • excellent job Ethan Nadelmann!!!

  • He owned that old guy.

Hell yeah, im gettin' baked right now.

  • marijuana is safer then tabacco and alcohal or any other drug for that matter.

i can go get a bag of weed easier then i can go get a bottle of vodka any day of the week.

millions and billions of people have smoked marijuana and there is no record of anyone ever overdosing and being killed by marijuana alone. Michael Phelps smokes pot and hes won how many gold medals? people are ridiculing him because of the recreational drug he uses? thats pitiful...

  • What feeble mind the other man has.

  • legalizing pot would raise so much cash, (especially in CA).....marijuana use is also safer than alcohol....MJ is also not physically addictive....people are going to do it no matter what the govt does.....all it is for the govt is to think "is it really that awful for people to get high in the comfort of their own home?"

  • AND we won't have to import hemp, so now stoners that grow their own now have a use for that one in a million male plant!

  • Fuckin' Americans want to ruin and control everything.

  • I thinks it pretty funny that drug-free america is mainly funded by pharmeceutical companies alchohol companies and tobacco companies

  • i know! its hilarious! theyre just pissed because once marijuana is legalized they think they will loose all of their buisness!

  • as well as numerous other anti drug programs being funded and sponsored by the church of scientology.

  • davis evans you are a fucking retard.

  • as a british person i would like to clear up what that guy said about a reversal in british drug policy, it's true that the extremely unpopular and corrupt government of this country did reverse it's decision to decriminalize cannabis, but to be honest no one in britain cares what this government says anyway, we don't even have medical marijuana, but we have medical heroin, if you don't believe me look up "cannabis granny", you americans are closer to legalization then us, don't give up.

  • I smoke it anyway. =D

  • of course, but it would be nice not to have to break the law.

  • Yea I guess but I don't think that it would change the number of pot smokers would change because it is just so easy to get.

  • exactly, that's what the prohibitionists don't get, the number of pot smokers wouldn't change because anyone who wants to do it already does.

  • oh they get it. they're just not allowed to be convinced because they have to answer to voters, and the sponsors who pay for the're campaigns. politics is disgusting

  • very true, i was talking more about ill informed citizens rather then politicians, but politics is certainly disgusting.

  • Ethan Nadelmann decimated this guy. It was like watching Mike Tyson vs. a 3-year-old. Wrong. Just wrong.

  • cool name man, brave though, i wouldn't want to be credited with the evil he did.

  • fuckinghellyoutwat,

    Thank you

  • Why would legalization increase drunk driving?

Unless he meant drunk on marijuana?

  • Sensible honest drug campaign, funny how that works.

  • Ethan Nadelmann is a beast! >:-]

  • He did PWN his ass......

And I like the last part. I too am very confidant that marijuana will be legal in the coming years, and I am very confidant that 2009 will be a great year for cannabis.

  • ethans smart the other guy doest know what hes talking about

  • PLEASE relabel this video "Nadelmann Strikes again!" he pwned that guy.

  • how come they never show blunts just joints

  • Ethan, my man! Your method of debate is AWSOME! Exposing prohibitionists for the hypocrites and criminals they are should be our focus!

Prohibition is fully responsible for ALL the Dug War woes. Killings with beheadings, kidnappings with torture and putting drug cartels and their dealers (that don't ask for ID) in control of cannabis distribution is all due to prohibition.

  • I agree, stop posturing dammit. Either commit to spending what it "actually" costs to enforce the prohibition of marijuana use or stop wasting our tax dollars on window dressing efforts designed to satisfy evangelical voters. I mean the fact that "some" may abuse a substance is no reason to ban that substance. If that were the case, we should probably go ahead and ban Big Macs and Whoppers considering all the overweight people we have abusing those items.

  • I love weed.

  • Ethan Nadelmann rocks!

  • it didnt go up they just came out

  • Their propaganda did not work, the truth is out.

  • agreed...the glasses guy looked gay and insecure LOL

  • Does David realize that the internet is here, and all the bullshit he just said is easily checked, and it was all lies? What a douche. I lauged my ass off at him. I wish these stupid old fuckers would just drop dead from stupidity.

  • Yes the inernet is our voice. we will set our corrupt government right through its use.. All together now... THANK YOU AL GORE FOR THE INTERNET!!! You spooge!

  • LEGALIZE!!!!!!

  • Criminalization of marijuana is the USA's version of the Berlin Wall.

Its a stupid old way of thinking that no one will change.

Notice how the old geezer thinks it should be illegal when the younger guy sees the truth.

You had your turn grandpa, let our generation make the rules now.

  • so true..........

  • Way to cite the studies saying stoned drivers are safer than sober drivers and the reduction of pot use after med passes....A child could make most of these prohibitionist look like the ideologues that they are.

  • There are little or no facts against marijuana, just the old biased belief pushed by the government (it's the corporations man!) that it is as harmful as chemical drugs. There's no physically addicting properties to it. It's a cheaper and effective medicine than anything out there. It would generate billions in taxes, we could focus on crimes that matter rather than some dude blazing it in his basement and eating microwaveable goodies

  • Illegal or not I'll smoke pot till I die. Some bald cock with glasses isn't going to tell me how to live my life.

  • Word bro. Don't let the man get you down.

  • haha thats awesome :D

  • He lied about Britin and the netherlands. MArijuana use is down in both places and there have been no problems.

I wish these drug free oppressors would just let go and leave us alone. It's admirable to live a pure life but it isnt for everyone and you can't force everyone to be the same.

  • "legalize it, time you recognize it" Yeah!!! MOTHER FUCKERS!!! legalize that shit!! SPEAK UP PEOPLE!!! Be proud to smoke pot. PEACE!!!!

    LAMBERT......

  • Marijuana use went up in the Netherlands?? Young people there have some of the lowest rates of addiction and rehab treatment. This guys an idiot. Its mostly tourist smokin in the coffee shop anyway

  • Ethan Nadelmann brings up good arguments, except I didn't like where he encouraged people that smoking marijuana is the gateway to becoming president. The rest, he nailed.

  • All he meant was that the whole amotivational syndrome theory has been disproven by all these successful people, but I get where your coming from too, man.

  • The republicans would rather you drink, smoke tobacco and take pharmaceuticals than smoke marijuana...why???

Because they would rather see you die than lose money!

  • the only way they would lose money is from lobbyists which shouldnt exist anyways. however it would increase their revenue for government spending on projects that would be worthwhile....it isnt just republicans that have always said no to weed.

  • I can't believe that Ethan can say those things with a straight face. How can legalized marijuana lead to more crime? I've known police officers, professors, writers, and lawyers who used, and probably still use, pot. When you take apart the situation, the fact is that, in the face of legal alcohol and legal cigarettes (together accounting for 700,000+ deaths per year) marijuana (accounting for 0 deaths per year) prohibition is unjust, period.

  • "How can legalized marijuana lead to more crime?"

I absolutely can't, because you eliminate crime by simply legalizing it (don't have to throw all those harmless pot smokers in jail, plus you eliminate the black market value of it), so he's clearly mistaken. Err, it's not that he's mistaken really, it's that he's lying to support his desire to control other people.

  • It was David Evans saying that...not Ethan...Ethan is on our side.

  • Got it....the three names confused me.

David Evans is a douche. It's amazing how confident he can be while lying! Poor Ethan is trying to get all the information he can on the table, and all David has to do is calmly lie - probably because he's on his home turf in the Fox World....

the whole war on drugs is messed up. education and rehabilitation, not incarceration. plus, we need to infiltrate and control drug organizations, not arrest and kill people who will just be replaced.

  • "Our approach of law enforcement and drug treatment is working."

    FALSE AS ALL HELL!

  • Is funny because this morons says that ganja is the first step to cocaine and that is a lie because all the people that takes cocaine in 90 percent is under the effects of alcohol no in ganja effects . So stop to lie the people saying that ganja is the FIRST problems of cocaine addicts like this ignorants says.

  • Comment removed

  • And all those people that DO take marijuana with things like cocaine started on cocaine first! Been proven but they won't let you know that, you know what I mean? Prohibitionists will never learn that we're not the stereotypical lazy asses they make us out to be and know how to work a computer to check these things out. Personally, I'm going to wait until I hit 21, but just you guys have a friend on the other side of the fence(for a good 6 years!)

  • Smoking marijuana is gateway to becoming the president.

Ganja reduces atheromatous plaque in animal models, promotes neurogenesis, gives extra insulation on nerve fibres and birth of new brain cells. its the smart thing to do.

an epidemiologist cud measure the smartness/intelligence of kids growing up in California.

  • God, Please oh please just legalize marijuana already.

  • Smoking a joint is healthier than having a beer.

  • and smoking 100 joints will not kill you, but drinking 100 beers will kill you twice....

  • The real "gateway" is the law, keeping the drug illegal and forcing otherwise law abiding citizens to interact with drug dealers that many will try to convince you to move up his drug chain, getting you hooked on harder and harder things in order to make you more addicted thus making him more money. All of that would vanish if they could be bought much like cigarettes at gas stations, ect...

  • and since the government has obviously lied to us about marijuana, people will think the same about the harder drugs, and could even make them more willing to try harder drugs.
