Why do you watch each and every video of his poetry and comment about how he is obese? Are the subtle nuances of his words to subtle for your meager mind to understand? This man is beautiful in terms of his words, in the way he presents them, and despite him being too fat for you he will have more impact on people's live today then you will have in your lifetime! Grow a pair buddy! Man up! One day I hope that you will see the beauty beneath and until then .. well I will feel sorry for you!
@CanadianSillyGoose ya man, if your gonna act like a douchebag american ignorant motherfucker, take Canadian outta your name, your just giving us a bad rap dood. Watch shanes To This Day, and realize your one of those stupid kids he talks about.
I do like this guy, especially his lump of coal line. However, I'm not a fan of his dismissal of science at the end. A double edged knife, still a great poet.
If you were to listen to the end of the poem, what he believes in (at least to what I've interpreted it as) is this: Believe in love, the strongest emotion we will ever expirience, the most important events of our lives, anything really worth remembering... they should all stem from love. With such a short time on this planet, with how quickly someone can disappear from our lives, it's all we really can do to make our lives happy.
Well of course, shane koyczan is my favourite spoken word artist, and I even had the pleasure of seeing him live at hillside festival 09' in guelph, ontario. Love is the most important thing in our lives, which is a central theme in many of his works. I MEANT that, to me, honestly and sincerely, love is love, with or without god, with or without science, and I don't want to argue against anyone who believes in either!
God damn I'm jealous of you, I was supposed to go to the hillside but missed it. Shane is also my fav spoken word artist, but I am pumped to see Ani Difranco this year.

100% agreed. I think it's just because he dismisses EVERYTHING, including religion. "nothing is fo shizzle"
But you gotta believe in SOMETHING right? Always contradicting yourself eventually leads to a dead end.
I still believe he is one of the best spoken word artists AND poets of this century.
