This is in the wrong key, its a semi-tone too high, but its beautiful anyways but i can't use it to practice =/

i know. piano was horribly out of tune, but you'll hear that if you play an e-chord in the beginning (like i do in the vid!), that it's not the wrong key ;) thanks for the comment!

No i mean, the key should be E flat major, so three flats, at least thats what i have on my sheet music for my vocal auditions. But other people have replied to other video's saying it should be three flats also. I don't know if you learned it by ear or if you have the music but in another key, anyways its still beautiful. ;)

can i ask you something? its going to seem dumb so prepare yourself: how do you play by ear? I know if you know a song well/ listen to it you can play it, but i always find it so difficult to determine the key the song is in....

it's not a dumb question at all!

chords are important,if you can play a g,f and c chord then you can play half of the songs out there!I started out listening to every individual note,and at the same time pushing down random keys until they matched. it's a trial and error thing, really. but as you go along it gets much easier, and more natural. pracitse! hammer away on the piano till the noise starts sounding like the song you're trying to play. at least, that's what i do ;) x
