Anaithukkum Vithaaga Vilangum Mozhi" the mozhi blatantly being spoken as "moli" makes one want to puke.

The rap bit, though all militant sounding and having that surging undercurrent of

menacing urgency, and overlayed by the nadaswaram bits is a neart bit of work, the minpronounced words spoil it all in the end.

Shruthi Hasan @4:20 really sucks. I am surprised that she didn't voluntarily call for her segment being cut out. As an artist thats the least that expected of someone. She may have been to Julliard, and she may be up on all that NY jazz, etc, etc, etc.. but her mispronounced jarring bit in this song was awful. I just wish Rahman would stop shouting.

Its ridiculous, that imported diva style wailing; it doesn't do anything to enhance the song or the music, particularly with a language and poetry that is so laden with meaning as Tamil.

The emotion and heft of classical tamil poetry requires far far more than the this usual Rahman rhythm and jingle mix with guitar riffs, and his stylistic flourishes of western 'DIva' style screaming.

The Music is loud and, as is usual with A R Rahman, brash and without any feel for the subject matter, the mish-mash of singers and their YAHOO-type of singing serves the immediate purpose of sentiment-raising, but if you listen to it more than a couple of times, you realize its just a potpourri of shouting. No credits to anyone for the lyrics, since it is all culled form the vast repository of classical tamil poetry.
