The cover, w/ that upright caricature, looks rather silly to me... a variation of Key To Ascenscion with less grace.
Seems maybe Benoit David's tamporine is too loud... just as it was as played by Jon on the last couple of tours.
Of *course* I'll buy it ... I just wish they'd gone ahead and released the complete DVD of the show (I'm pretty sure it was all filmed). -Wasn't this in fact the one Squire said was filmed in 3-D?
It does sound well mixed...unlike a few Yes live releases of recent years
I'm not asking them to play it faster than the album versions, like they used to do in the 70s, just roughly the album speed. I'd guess one of them is slowing them down, either Alan, Chris or Steve. I'd rather have them play simplified arrangements if some of them can't reproduce the faster phrases rather than slow down the songs. Alan White simplified most of Bill Bruford's parts anyway! (And I don't mean this in a derisive way!)
Great show, and it has the drama material and hopefully astral traveler. I hope this is not the only DVD of this band, however. I was looking forward to a DVD of the new shows (without Styx), in Europe where they are going to be playing a little of the FFH album. I hope they're still on track to do that, but it's unlikely now. It would be market saturation for the dwindling dollar. If it was
only one or the other, I'd rather the FFH tour than ITP. Ah well. I'll take what I can get.
Nice! Looks like the production levels are quite good. Will be great to finally add proper live versions of Tempus Fugit and Machine Messiah to my Yes collection.
The music is out of sync. Love this band warts and all. Plus the way this band plays classic YES music helps me understand better what the original intention of the composure was i.e. hearing what chord pads Oliver chose to use in relation to what Steve played. Have this show from the live recordings they did on the tour and it was one of the best shows!

I only wish the songs were played 10% faster. I may end up downloading the live album, speeding up the wav files and reencoding it. Really.

I don't think they're playing Roundabout slow enough...

Dude sounds like Anderson. Saw them in 1979 (or 78) at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia and they still have it. Sad it's sans Jon.

Oliver: Thumbs Up;
Geoff: Thumbs Down.
I wish i'd seen them a few years ago...2003 for instance...with Oliver's father and a proper singer...:(
