when he says that he firmly believes she was alive when abducted, I think what he's saying is that he believes she wasn't murdered at the apartment then taken off. But still, I agree, it's an odd thing to say and ultimately, what makes him think that's the case at all? If they want closure, why be completed closed off to that possibility?

Also, when Gerry says "and I don't know of any information that's changed that"... at this point, Kate shakes her head in agreement, in an attempt to conceal her nervousness and look more natural. She must have been aware that she looked anxious, which is why she immediately turned to Gerry to hide from the camera.

If you look at Kate's reaction when Gerry mentioned Madeleine "being murdered", she looks down and then she looks at Gerry to conceal her face from the camera, obviously in case she gives anything away. And after that, she appears to look anxious for the rest of the interview...

Actually, I'm afraid the vast majority of people out there are simply too stupid to believe otherwise. I can assure you that most people still believe the McCann's bull-shit story, and whenever someone suggests that she was murdered, that person just gets shot down in flames for being "insensitive".

My daughter went missing when she was 5. She was missing for 18 months and of course we thought she could be dead. But I couldn't bare the thought of her being murdered, let alone say it out loud without crying a river at the same time. These parents damn well know what happened to Maddie.
My daughter was found after 18 months-alive but abused.
She's safe with us at home now but I still burst into tears whenever I think of what she went through.
Maddie's parents are emotionless. Liars.

KM once said that 'the first 48 hours are the worst', yet for parents who really don't know what has happened to their child, TIME WOULD MAKE IT HARDER. And my daughter was abducted while she was at school and I still felt guilty- I thought if I had beed homeschooling her I would have protected her. And my husband actually cried too every time he thought about what our child might be going through. Gerry Mccann said "you know, murdered" without ever blinking. They know very well where Maddy is.

From police report: The blood in the car was degraded, but the FSS lab was able this time, on its first analysis, to find 19 markers, of which 15 markers matched Madeleine's DNA - again, meaning that there were no markers within these 15 that could not have come from Madeleine. With 15 markers out of 19 all matching Madeleine's DNA, that would give analysts 99.9% confidence that the blood samples were from Madeleine. The DNA of the degraded blood was found not to match with the twins.

Of course Kate knows what happened to Madeleine; that's why she didn't bother searching for her (none of the McCann crowd did - they went to bed while the locals, police and hotel staff searched), applied make-up the next day, and went jogging. She knew Madeleine was dead.

@Liesaplenty Yes, I remember the strange amount of jogging they did in days following Maddie's"disappearance". Not collapsed in a pile on the living room floor, weeping together. Oh no. But out jogging. It was a strange show of solidarity. Solidarity in keeping to a fabricated story to prevent them losing their remaining children and their careers as doctors, no doubt. Kate always looks tense in interviews, not sad. No slumping shoulders and teary eyes. Instead she looks absolutely petrified.

I agree. That was probably the first video they did after the dogs went in. As you say FezBoy, this was very revealing with lots of micro expressions - all of it lies. Where's the panic, where's the emotion? You can see they're lying through their teeth, and not just because they appear calm. You can see it in their faces, in their eyes...
