How often should I run regcure? I read on the net that if you run it too many times you can do more harm than good. Is once a month ok?

Yes, once a month is fine. You could even run it once a week. I generally run it whenever I feel my computer is lagging a bit or whenever I use the "Manage Startup" tab.
