@chicagobears1978 We got to the Super Bowl and won it without our starting RB last season. As far as this season goes, yes we played like shit in the playoffs. I can't argue with that. When you fumble 4 times, drop 6 easy passes, and have a secondary so shitty that they can't even knock down a hail mary pass before halftime, it's hard to win. We weren't completely healthy though. Jennings had a knee injury that kept him out the last 3 regular season games and Starks had an ankle injury.

@chewblaha No he wasn't. Grant suffered a kidney bruise in week 3 against the Bears and didn't play the following week against the Broncos. Those are hard to come back from. If you look at his average yards per carry this season, it was pretty much the same as it was in 2009 so if he would have had the same number of carries, he likely would have had over 1,000 yards rushing again.

He shouldn't have received the award because he has a backup that can play at the same high level. That's the simple explanation. If you have a backup that can play at a high level, then you should not be MVP.

@godsboss24 Lions defense was ranked 23 in both scoring and yards total. Not good, but not that bad. Young wasn't the Hall of Fame player he was when he went to the '9ers in his first years there. He was fresh off of two pretty bad years in Tampa and hadn't developed enough. Once '91 came around, that's when the competition really heated up.

@godsboss24 Plus, Brady had played in 99 straight games up until 2008 when Cassel took over. You think Ryan Mallet or Mark Hartline could have done it one year into the system? Cassel was four years into McD's system and knew how to play it. Also not to mention that Randy Moss and Wes Welker both lead the league in YAC that year.

@godsboss24 So the WR's make Flynn good, but that doesn't apply to Rodgers? Stats don't mean anything. Good season. Still not as valuable as Favre/Manning have been to their teams. Manning hasn't put up eye-popping stats since 2004, but he's the ONLY reason that team won anything. To say that The Greatest Show on Turf would have "been fine" without Faulk? Really? Everyone on that team -- Warner, Bruce, Holt, even Martz -- they ALL have said that Faulk was the only reason that offense was great.

The play action from that offense wasn't devastating because of how good he was. Kurt Warner, in watch?v=MObyb4U3Zfg, even tells you. He was the main cog in that offense. Why do you think the Rams absolutely blew after he retired?

@chewblaha the only team since 2006 to win a SB with a higher ranked rushing game than passing was the 07 giants who had a GREAT defense and stopped the highest scoring offense of all time,the giants were dead last in rushing this year and still won the SB. the last 3 sb winners had the 4th,5th and 5th best passing teams in that year. its a passing league now. even that piece of shit chris johnson rushed for 2000+ yards and got zero votes for mvp

@godsboss24 Aside from 2004, Manning was not the best QB in any of the years he won his MVP's. He threw for fewer TD's than Favre and threw seven more picks. He was two yards over 4000 and Brees had hit 5k that year. Stats. Don't. Mean. Anything. Jim Sorgi doesn't go out and play his ass off like Flynn did. No one did. This year is PROOF of that. If your backup can play insanely well as Flynn has in the times he's started, then you are not as valued as other people hold some of their players.

@chewblaha from 2000-2010 the league has never seen a QB play as well as manning.look at his stats combined with his wins. favre did more harm than good for the packers in the 2000s. in the playoffs he cost the packers games by:throwing 6 ints vs the rams,losing vs the 8-8 vikings,losing the 1st ever home game to the falcons,the giants INT in 07,not to mention the choke job he did when he was on the vikings. rodgers has never cost the packers a game in the playoffs in 3 years going there

@chewblaha in 09 he played out of his fucking mind vs arizona but got screwed on a no call penalty in overtime,in 2010 he had that magical suber bowl run,and this year his WRS dropped 6 passes (1 td) his offense fumbled 4 times and his last ranked defense allowed a hail mary td and NYG's 1st TD was the worst tackling ive ever seen.if matt flynn was our starter we would miss the playoffs,but ur praising him for beating a team that has 16 wins in the last 4 seasons..nice

It's like players who are great but are on shitty teams are automatically ignored. Fucking Brett Favre should have won MVP in 2004 because he had absolutely NO ONE on that team after their injuries and he's the only reason they got four games. If you have a backup that can toss six TD's in one game or rush for 1000 yards, then you're not an MVP nor as valuable.

@chicagobears1978 We got to the Super Bowl and won it without our starting RB last season. As far as this season goes, yes we played like shit in the playoffs. I can't argue with that. When you fumble 4 times, drop 6 easy passes, and have a secondary so shitty that they can't even knock down a hail mary pass before halftime, it's hard to win. We weren't completely healthy though. Jennings had a knee injury that kept him out the last 3 regular season games and Starks had an ankle injury.

@chewblaha No he wasn't. Grant suffered a kidney bruise in week 3 against the Bears and didn't play the following week against the Broncos. Those are hard to come back from. If you look at his average yards per carry this season, it was pretty much the same as it was in 2009 so if he would have had the same number of carries, he likely would have had over 1,000 yards rushing again.
