Dear camper, A properly working stove means a hot meal! Then you don't have to draw straws to see which one of your buddies gets eaten for dinner! (Just joking!) On the Svea 123 like you have it requires no more priming fuel to get it going than what it takes to fill the small dish at the center of the tank where the riser tube is. Don't let it run down the sides. Also using denatured alcohol and not white gas for priming helps keep your stove cleaner and prevents sooting. Find CCS website.
Back again. Check "classic camp stoves", and look for Doc Mark. You will see I'm an honest and trustworthy person. PM me from that site, and we can talk about it. But, if you send me your stove, I will be happy to rebuild it, test it, and return it to you, no charge except for my shipping it back to you. If you choose to do otherwise, no problem. As has been mentioned, you have a few problems with your stove that need to be corrected for it to run as it used to. First, you used WAY too much fuel for priming!! Doing it the way you did will harden the gaskets in no time, and the stove will no longer hold pressure. Once that happens, it simply will not function correctly. The suggestion that you may have charred the internal wick, is right on, too. I will rebuild your stove for you. More later...
you may need a new fuel cap gasket and if you have run it till its empty you may have chared the wick that goes into the riser which would need to be replaced but for a couple of hours work it will be as good as new

Very sad story....LOL....you may have over filled the fuel tank, it requires some airspace to work properly.
