@ChaseGMC The bigger problem is loss of habitat. As towns grow into the last wild bamboo forests, it brings them into contact with more humans with dollar signs in their eyes who might do opportunistic poaching. Also, dogs from the towns have been known to attack them.

The sad thing is, nothing can change this trend, people keep reproducing and expanding. There will always be red pandas, but in the future it will only be in zoos and the few nature reserves that are left.

the red panda has been previously classified in the families Procyonidae (raccoon) and Ursidae (bears), but recent research has placed it in its own family Ailuridae. Its not a rat, fish, or elephant! If you debating, debate on wether its a raccoon, bear, or fox, Not a bloody fish!

Giant pandas and red pandas are distantly related. The red panda was originally named the Lesser panda, but that name is no longer as widely used. The reason they're both called Pandas is because the word panda is derived from the word Poonya, which means bamboo-eater, according to some. Red pandas were discovered first~
