  • Oh what fun! Who ever said that Strauss was serious music? Well, it is serious FUN! What a joyous, beautiful celebration!

  • eh, teutons do it better

  • @iaminterface0101 Breaking news: Strauss are claping, claping and more claping this magnificent and extraordinary interpretation for his Radetzky March by Chinese Orchesta . . . We are happy !!! :-)

  • At 1:00 you can see a Chinese lady clapping so crazy!it's really hilarious!

  • very nice indeed

  • hahaha exellent ! Chine

  • looooool i seriously lol'd a lot when i heard the song come on. definitely didn't expect it to be this good haha

  • What an absolutely wonderful and poetic adaptation and interpretation - and what a fine example how music transcends cultures :)

  • A very clever adaptation indeed. I also like the added "weight" of the playing in this selection. Surprisingly "Western" in feel combined with a more traditional Chinese "lightness." Amazing too the way the audience claps along as they automatically do in Vienna.

  • I love the reaction of the audience :D, I love Radetzky March!

  • What a massacre :(

  • @maitretorsten :of course this song is not written to be played with Chinese instruments. so yes i agree the original sounds better. I love both western and chinese orchestra. However this is their way of paying respect to the country and culture hosting the concert. When western orchestra performing in China, they will play Chinese classics with western instruments as well, and everybody loves it! Isn't it a lot of fun to share and experience the diversity?? the audience is having fun!

  • What a massacre :/

  • i love this music *.*

    I'm from Portugal " Azores"

    Beautiful music =)

  • I love it when I first heard it on TV.

  • Two of two culture.Chinese Central Traditional Orchestra is the most well known orchestra in China. Can't imagine that they could play in Golden Hall, even though this version is a little bit noisy.

  • fantastic

  • This music was composed by Austrian composer Johann Straus I for the field marshal of the Austrian army, Radestzky, in1848, the year of revolutions in Europe. In those days, Austria was like today's USA. It decided whether the revolutions in other countries in Europe were successful or not.

  • theres 2bucks

  • lol at the guy with the mini symbols at 0:49

  • soooo coolz.... i love china

  • soooo coolz.... i love china

  • funny to see them clapping like we do here ^^ the instruments they use really look interesting! They did a good job :3

  • @kaetzchen1988

Where are you and who you refer to as "they"? Don't you know that the Austrians are just the same as you are what ever you are. hehe

  • The idea is hilarious and pulled off well, but I really am glad beautiful pieces of music are usually played by their proper orchestras and instruments. Chinese instruments don't do this march any great favors (or the other way around, I can't tell).

  • @EricoSuaveBigD

your words are rude and naive, you should learn better how to respect others or you won't be respected in return. i look on your comment as an ad of the supermarkt , guess you're their employee.

  • Walmart? U pesky little.... This is the new age. Even the Chinese Orchestra can be used to play Western classical pieces. Whats wrong with that? Its a melting pot of two cultures!

  • @PrinceLaRoche I totally agree. And as a matter of fact, the Chinese Orchestra instruments are much more complicated than the Western ones, so this is far more impressive.

  • This is not funny at all . They should be wearing Walmart employee uniforms.

  • @EricoSuaveBigD I think you should talk about this in Walmart, not here.

  • @EricoSuaveBigD Lol u're the boss of Walmart? Shut the hell up.

  • @EricoSuaveBigD get outa here!

  • Lovely to hear and the reactions of the audience when they recognised their old favourite played was price less.

I wonder how the Emperor or the Vienna Woods waltzes would sound like this !

  • pure positive energy.....so rare in these days.....

  • Radetzky March, Op. 228 (Chinese version)

  • this is funny when the music once started!

  • Interesting. This rendition almost takes the teeth out of the rather militant original.

  • This is a good example of human tallent, and everyone enjoys it. In the soon coming kingdom of God, there will be no evil leaders that teach one race to hate another race.

People are not here on earth to learn hate, we are here for God's purpose. We will no longer have Men ruling over us , but the reborn saints, who will be the Son of God leading the whole world. What I am saying is true, and it will soon come to pass. So have hope my friends.

  • @tellingthetruthagain What does that have to do with the music or the video? I swear, you moral crusaders will turn anything and everything into some kind of lesson from god.

  • Wunderbar!

  • A real refreshing change to the usual rendition !!! Well done !!! Believe me the urhu is not easy to handy western classical numbers !!!

  • SUPERBE !!! Vive l' Empire du milieu !!!!!

  • bullshit

  • muy bueno, mas que excelente

  • People's Republic of China...I see LOTS of red and yellow.

  • Fantastica...

  • haha I thought this was hilarious, but in a good way

    xDD fantastic lol

  • @boblets92

Open up your mind, you sound very narrow minded can not see farther than your own surrounding. The world is much more beautiful all around you. In the contrary, you are a joker yourself. hahahahaha

  • Me like!!! ^^

Hope to se more classic music like this!! :)

  • Sehr lustiger Clip! Von wann ist die Einspielung? Weiß eigentlich jemand ob da Waldheim in der ersten Reihe sitzt?

  • I love the people's reactions after they have recognised the tune

  • funny start and great performance

  • Sogood

  • This is fantastic!!!!

  • wonderful

  • A bit amateurish... no? Like a school band.

  • Boy, talk about clueless! Just because the sound may be a bit foreign to your ears, you call it amateurish? YOU try playing those instruments.

What you have failed to grasp is the basic qualitative differences between Chinese and European culture. These are all GREAT young musicians. It is the arrangement that seems foreign to you.

Your reaction is the same as the white man who arrived in Africa and heard indigenous music for the first time.

Get used to it.China is the future.

  • Mmm I can see a nice touch to the Chinese culture in the March but nonetheless better done by Europeans themselves and its laughable you think China is the future, really laughable.

  • @HRW1940 No seas ridiculo enfermo amplia tu cultura Understand??

  • Fabulous!!!!

  • very interesting version, i love J. Strauss work.

  • what's that double-bass like thing???

  • sehr schön, klingt wirklich gut! danke

  • Great performance!

Audio and video seems to be a bit out of sync, or is it just me?

    Did anyone else notice?

  • Simply execrable. This rivals the version of the New Zealand Friendly Orchestra (NZFO--a down under cousin of the Portsmouth Sinfonia, an "ensemble" that butchered classical music on purpose). Those wishing more aural torture can find NZFO's take here on You Tube by entering "Radetzky Marched Over." Mercifully, only a portion is heard. While the results are similar, the NZFO playing is awful, while the Chinese play well enough, but in an ill-fitting arrangement that should never have been made.

  • you are elitist, chauvinistic scum.

  • interesting point - surely this music was always meant to be elitist?

    h.

  • Excelent video. 5*** and favorite. Congratulations CMPTICA

  • fantastic

  • love it........but at one point, it sounded like clasing of pots, pans, ladles and etc. hahaha.good job!

  • A fun & friendly tribute from the Chines orchestra to their host city Vienna & its maestro composer. Great element of surprise at the start..."we're play'in your tune, Vienna!" When in Rome, do as the Romans. Charming.

  • Esto es bellisimo!! Me encanta ♥°°!

  • Très beau, original!!

    Très bien interprété

  • lol so cool version and very original... XD

  • Extremely moving performance. Also do not forget the spectacular performance of Beethoven 9th by the Peking Symphony a few years ago: it brought me tears. Yes, music is the sound of love.

  • only chinese and germans got enough IQ to produce beatiful classic music in the world

  • Uh, what about the Italians, Austrians, French, English, Americans, Spanish, etc, etc. If you don't know about their music, you need to look it up!

  • I loved it, thankyou whoever placed it

  • this is so awesome : )

  • Grandissimi.

  • Different...really different but I enjoyed it very much. Bravo.

  • Just as there are various versions of the spoken English e.g I like English spoken with the Indian accent, we should also appreciate this version of the March played with traditional Chinese instruments.

  • interesting instrumentation.

I wasn't expecting that sound. Bravo!

  • The power of music to bring joy and harmony and break human brarriers! Bravo. It would be even more interesting to do a `variation` of the Strauss composition in traditional Chinese style.

  • An interesting and innovative version of this great classic. I am not sure that Mr. Strauss would have approved. However, I for one enjoy and admire it. The introduction is a real find. Whoever made this up has got a great sense of humour.

  • An interestering, innovative, creative, rendering of this Classic. Don't know if Mr. Strauss would have approved, but I do like it. I think the introduction is a great find, whoever wrote is has a powerful sense of humour. Tibet is not China.

  • what the hell relationship with tibet?!

  • is ja mal geil , hihiihi

  • Why are some immature bigots trying to stir racism here? Don't you know you are on international arena? This is a musical piece, so don't bring politics into your flames and talk nonsensical issues. If you all cannot give constructive criticisms, then jolly well shut the hell up. There isn't a need for fliths like you people to come dirty the comments page.

  • Himmel!l Got mitt Uns

  • very good, but the original version is the best!!:)

  • that is the limit of awesomeness! :)

  • Cinese pentatonic instruments playing european heptatonic music - awful.

  • I think it is liked because of it's novelty and good nature but it doesn't translate well. I agree with PetrFM

  • @NKWIAM

Narrow minded people on the narrow street. Heard of that? wake up and get the taste of the new world. hehe

  • haha~~~ very special verson~! funny~!

  • very nice !

    Felicitaciones!!!

  • This is awesome.

  • Beautiful

  • Not bad. Another way to the best. Multicultural against racism.

  • wirklich sehr interessant...

  • Amazing! When east meets west!!!

  • Best Radetzkymarsch ever!

  • @OrsinoDuke

Hey, do you think Spaghetti that you shove in your mouth is funny? You probably don't even know where it came from originally. Sad soul.

  • What a beautiful version of one of the most popular classical pieces ever written. I love the traditional Chinese instruments.
