@iaminterface0101 Breaking news: Strauss are claping, claping and more claping this magnificent and extraordinary interpretation for his Radetzky March by Chinese Orchesta . . . We are happy !!! :-)
A very clever adaptation indeed. I also like the added "weight" of the playing in this selection. Surprisingly "Western" in feel combined with a more traditional Chinese "lightness." Amazing too the way the audience claps along as they automatically do in Vienna.
@maitretorsten :of course this song is not written to be played with Chinese instruments. so yes i agree the original sounds better. I love both western and chinese orchestra. However this is their way of paying respect to the country and culture hosting the concert. When western orchestra performing in China, they will play Chinese classics with western instruments as well, and everybody loves it! Isn't it a lot of fun to share and experience the diversity?? the audience is having fun!
Two of two culture.Chinese Central Traditional Orchestra is the most well known orchestra in China. Can't imagine that they could play in Golden Hall, even though this version is a little bit noisy.
This music was composed by Austrian composer Johann Straus I for the field marshal of the Austrian army, Radestzky, in1848, the year of revolutions in Europe. In those days, Austria was like today's USA. It decided whether the revolutions in other countries in Europe were successful or not.
The idea is hilarious and pulled off well, but I really am glad beautiful pieces of music are usually played by their proper orchestras and instruments. Chinese instruments don't do this march any great favors (or the other way around, I can't tell).
your words are rude and naive, you should learn better how to respect others or you won't be respected in return. i look on your comment as an ad of the supermarkt , guess you're their employee.
Walmart? U pesky little.... This is the new age. Even the Chinese Orchestra can be used to play Western classical pieces. Whats wrong with that? Its a melting pot of two cultures!
@PrinceLaRoche I totally agree. And as a matter of fact, the Chinese Orchestra instruments are much more complicated than the Western ones, so this is far more impressive.
your words are rude and naive, you should learn better how to respect others or you won't be respected in return. i look on your comment as an AD of the supermarkt , guess you're their employee.
This is a good example of human tallent, and everyone enjoys it. In the soon coming kingdom of God, there will be no evil leaders that teach one race to hate another race.
People are not here on earth to learn hate, we are here for God's purpose. We will no longer have Men ruling over us , but the reborn saints, who will be the Son of God leading the whole world. What I am saying is true, and it will soon come to pass. So have hope my friends.
@tellingthetruthagain What does that have to do with the music or the video? I swear, you moral crusaders will turn anything and everything into some kind of lesson from god.
Open up your mind, you sound very narrow minded can not see farther than your own surrounding. The world is much more beautiful all around you. In the contrary, you are a joker yourself. hahahahaha
Ein wunderbare Variante einers bekannten und gerne gehörten Marsches! Für Europäische Ohren ein wenig gewöhnugsbedürftig aber dennoch faszinierend. Danke für´s hochladen^^^^
Boy, talk about clueless! Just because the sound may be a bit foreign to your ears, you call it amateurish? YOU try playing those instruments.
What you have failed to grasp is the basic qualitative differences between Chinese and European culture. These are all GREAT young musicians. It is the arrangement that seems foreign to you.
Your reaction is the same as the white man who arrived in Africa and heard indigenous music for the first time.
Mmm I can see a nice touch to the Chinese culture in the March but nonetheless better done by Europeans themselves and its laughable you think China is the future, really laughable.
Simply execrable. This rivals the version of the New Zealand Friendly Orchestra (NZFO--a down under cousin of the Portsmouth Sinfonia, an "ensemble" that butchered classical music on purpose). Those wishing more aural torture can find NZFO's take here on You Tube by entering "Radetzky Marched Over." Mercifully, only a portion is heard. While the results are similar, the NZFO playing is awful, while the Chinese play well enough, but in an ill-fitting arrangement that should never have been made.
A fun & friendly tribute from the Chines orchestra to their host city Vienna & its maestro composer. Great element of surprise at the start..."we're play'in your tune, Vienna!" When in Rome, do as the Romans. Charming.
Extremely moving performance. Also do not forget the spectacular performance of Beethoven 9th by the Peking Symphony a few years ago: it brought me tears. Yes, music is the sound of love.
Just as there are various versions of the spoken English e.g I like English spoken with the Indian accent, we should also appreciate this version of the March played with traditional Chinese instruments.
The power of music to bring joy and harmony and break human brarriers! Bravo. It would be even more interesting to do a `variation` of the Strauss composition in traditional Chinese style.
An interesting and innovative version of this great classic. I am not sure that Mr. Strauss would have approved. However, I for one enjoy and admire it. The introduction is a real find. Whoever made this up has got a great sense of humour.
An interestering, innovative, creative, rendering of this Classic. Don't know if Mr. Strauss would have approved, but I do like it. I think the introduction is a great find, whoever wrote is has a powerful sense of humour. Tibet is not China.
