@kage1080 i tan this on my ps3 for 1.5 years and i run my ps3 hard. It never caused any problems and cooled the unit significantly.

now that my 1 year warranty is gone i have ripped apart the ps3 a lot more. i now don't use this mod and i have the entire thing running with a liquid cooling loop and a 2x120mm radiator. my ps3 sits at a cool 34*C. I modded a small form factor hi gloss pc case to house all of the parts. it looks a lot like a media center pc but it has a PS logo up front.

The best way to keep a ps3 cool is to water cool it. The best way to cool a xbox360 is to put it in a bucket of water, it works everytime. :-)

@NJL1981 i just want to add that you shouldn't go cheap on your bucket. a high quality bucket is essential. i bought the Turbo XL High Speed Liquid Max with the gold plated handle for better conductivity. works great! the first bucket i used was just a plastic pickle bucket. didn't work, pickle got caught between the graphics card and the main board. i did find a video on youtube that shows a secret ps3 pickle eject code. so, it's all better now.

an easyier way is to go on ebay find a nyco intercooler it goes on the back and top and it wokrs good ...its kinda noisy but to make it quiet put a little oil in each fan

no this does not interfere with it because the ps3 is designed to blow the hot air out of the top of the system. this simply accelerates the air that the ps3 has expelled up and away from the ps3.

no this mod is not that hard if you have the parts i used and can solder. if you cant then this is not worth atempting. it is a little discouraging cutting the usb ports in the back because this is one thing you cant undo. if u need ant help just message me.

if this is who i think it is with all the videos out there right on but everything ive used is readily available. the hardest thing to get is the cooler itself but they are still easy enough to find.

you should beable to pick up the cooler at a wallmart, bestbuy, or gamestop. they should have it. its an intec 3 fan turbo cooler. might be a bit different for you. need any more help just reply back im here.

there convenient and nice looking. i always had a problem with large bulky cords coming out of the frnt of my ps3. this mod puts 4 usb ports into the bac of it so that all of your wires for you external harddrive, rockband attachments, ect dont stick out the front of your sexy ps3. like a dvd player the connections are in the back to make it look better.

yea but depending on what you use the usbs in the back for...they might blow because its using the power from 1 usb in the front to power 4 usbs in the back and 3 fans...

the hub is made to work fine on its own. if you use the same parts i did, i tested it with 2 thumb drives and a usb external hdd ( 2 usb connectors) and full power on the fans. it worked fine because the only time the fans draw much power is when they spin up. which conveniently the usb hub is not detected by the time the fans are on so everything starts in a wave not overloading the usb port.

the only dust buildup i have found in this is a slight ammount inside the case of the mod itself. i had it running for 2 months and it only had started to havea little dust inside. there is no dust left on the ps3.

where do u live. and ill want 60 cause of the usb ports. i cant get them easily anymore. i will have to drive over 45 minutes away to get the usb ports. and if u want i might be able to work with u to assemble exactly what style u want. (led placement ect.)

nah man its cool, but it does look pretty sweet . if stores sold fans/coolers like that they would make a ton of money . this is one of the many gadgets that are home made that actually impressed me, good work .
