True fact: Victini, Reshiram and Zekrom do have a shiny sprite. BUT they cant be caught shiny in the game because theyre programmed not to be. To get these shinies you MUST hack. If the random number generated the shiny number in 1 / 8192 then they get re generated to not be shiny. Therefore its impossible to obtain these shinies without hacks

Congratulations on the Shiny Snivy! I'm currently trying to get one myself. Also: Reshiram and Zekrom DO have Shiny sprites, but they cannot be obtained through normal gameplay.

I've caught a shiny buizel on my diamond and a shiny kricketot on my platinum. Do not even ask about my heartgold, I screwed up bigtime on that game and now I can't trade my good pokemon back to my platinum.

@EArulez720 Means using the reset combination of A+B+Start+Select or L+R+Start+Select. Just hold that and it brings you back to the main screen of the game. Easy way to get shiny faster.

@Mkilljoy You can save the game right when you are about to open/get your starter pokemon so that's kind of a good thing (wish it was like heart gold and soul silver when you get to choose your starter pokemon and you can see it in shiny form instead of sending it to battle takes a long time in black and white version) I'm trying to get Pokabu/Tepig in my japanese version.

@KoopTroop14 No it does not appear shiny before you pick it. I think it's because you aren't seeing the pokemon's sprite, but just a picture of the starter. In other words, you have to send out in battle to see if it's shiny. People got spoiled with HG/SS lol
