what happened in this game in 1990...is going to be triple UGLY for the Niners in 2012....the Giants got passing game to go along with that killer pass rush and to think that we beat these foosl with a backup QB that day...lmao! LET'S GO GIANTS!
@jtc1148 Of course he wouldn't have played. Montana missed the entire following seasons and most of the one after that. The Bills were really good that year, and outplayed the Giants in the Super Bowl in many ways, but then again, Steve Young was already probably a top 5 QB as a backup.
@jtc1148, first he wouldn't have. He broke his wrist, had a puncture lung, broken ribs and a concussion so no Marshall really knocked the hell out of him.
I have a feeling it's going to happen again this year: an NFC team is going to win the conference championship game on the road (Green Bay?) with a last second field goal or in overtime (just as what happened to the Falcons in 1998 and the same Giants in 2007). I damn hope it's the 49ers because the NFL owes them a Super Bowl apperence after losing this game!
You stupid idiot. The 49ers won their last Super Bowl in 1995. 5 years after the Giants beat them in the NFC Champsionship. NFL owes the 49ers nothing since they already been paid. Asshole idiot.
@FAITHandLOGIC It speaks volumes that Summerall when he was trashed six and a half days a week still provided more gravitas than Buck with his faux-eloquence on overdrive.
Tell you what. Watch how he called Eagles's De Sean Jackson's punt return against the Giants. Then watch how he called Lawrence Tynes field goal against the Packers. If you don't notice that his voice gets excited when the Giants are at the losing end then stop watching sports or just come out of the closet.
See. Now you learned. Buck's voice gets excited whenever the Giants lose. He hates them so much. He hates the Yankees as well. Whenever Giants or Yanks win, his voice is dulled.
He honestly should be fired or moved to another region.
Best team Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, and Tony Siragua. Even the team with the two black guys that called the Giants Seahawks game care good
@tridentgun Buck is terrrible. Theres a vid on here of Corey Webster picking Favre in OT during the NFCCG. During that play and the Tyenes FG, you can tell how upset he was. He always is up the home teams azz and even further up a team who's playing a NY team. I was shocked that he had some spark during the Hakeem Nicks TD vs Atlanta.
If anyone remembers, that year when both teams were 10-0 on Monday Night Football, Parcells ended up going for it on 4th down 2 or 3 times and getting stuffed each time. He definitely learned his lesson for this game.
Manning to Tyree was just as improbable as this team beating the Niners and Bills. 2 of the 3 Giant Superbowls were against all odds in the greatest games in the history of the league.
even with the fumble, and even with the injury to montana, the giants dont win this game without that fake punt....parcells took a gamble on that because their offense couldnt move the ball, the niners defense was every bit as good as theirs was....
as a GIANT fan that game won me big bucks in L.A. with all the 9ers fans LOLOLOLOL! the best gm 4 me was the plyoff gm before this one against dictka & the bears 30-3 blow-out which sent most of the bears & dictka into retirement...lol!
@dellb73 same here wich i'm sure has us both asking "why are we even watching this clip??" in all honesty i would LOVE to see this game pulled off Youtube
It still hurts!! 20 years later! I was like 9 at the time and I still have nightmares of Montana getting whacked and Craig Fumbling the ball away. Oh well, you win some you lose some.
GO NINERS!! Still in the hunt at 4-7 (How sad is that!!!!)
Fuck the midgets.

Who would have won had Bahr missed, San Fran or the Bills? Montana was banged up, so I am not sure he would have played in the game.

Joe Buch sucks. His voice is horrible and hates the New York teams. If you like Joe Buck, then you are either retarded or just gay.

@tridentgun I'm from NY and do not have an issue with Joe Buck. I guess that means I'm gay in your book.

It was nice to see Ottis Anderson, the former Cane, win the Super Bowl mvp the following week against the Bills; he was clutch in his later years
