  • Thanks for the video. I bring some of my own healthy products to my manicurist. I think she thinks I'm crazy and she just "puts up with me" talking to her about chemicals. I'm just trying to help her!

  • omg this is truely horrible & not fair to asians :(

  • This is America we do not have a precautionary initiative in our laws. If you want to stop this problem count up the bodies get a scientific study done then go to court. And hope the judge is not on the take, owns stock in the companies involved, is not a judge the companies maneuver into position to hear the case. THIS IS AMERICA WE VALUE JOBS, PROFITS, and POLITICAL PAY OFFS. Wake up we constantly vote in the corporate , wall street profiteers, and you want clean environment ,self deception?

  • This sucks. These women undergo this occupation as their means to survive and start a life for themselves in America, but now, they suffer from the chemicals they use daily.

  • I was going to write something smart so i could fit in with all these comments but then i said naw.

  • The EPA is supposed to enforce the 1996 Food Quality protection act (under Clinton) 1998 the EPA set a deadline to tests 15'000 chemicals suspicious of being endocrine disruptors. The EPA misses the deadline in 1999

In 2007, 11 years after Clinton passed the law, the EPA had yet to screen its first chemical.

EPA, SEC, FDA, Dept of Interior.. what Story of corruption and incompetence do you want to read about. Join the Repeace movement.

  • Colon, the toxic trio is outlawed in the European Union. They are using safe substitutes. There it is required that you PROVE the safety of something before you sell. Seems like a good practice for customers, workers and the environment. Try reading an MMS sheet it's not in English, it's in chemistry. And considering that legislation doesn't require manufacturer's to disclose all chemicals used, even the smartest of owners may not know what is in a bottle.

  • ColonPal, you're wrong. The ventilation required to make the use of these chemicals safe is very expensive and hard to set up. Moreover, the chemicals enter the body through skin, the nail matrix, and other ways. Instead of calling people "morons," the industry should provide safe products! And, yes, closchuk, alternatives are available that will work as well. So what if they're more expensive? What is a buck or two when you're talking about cancer? Google "skindeep."

  • Is there a movement to alternative products, organic, acrylic, non toxic or otherwise? Are they there but more expensive?

  • GOOD! I say we put them all out of business and force them to use chemicals that don't work, but are safe. What kind of MORON wouldn't be observant enough to know that breathing toxic fumes is gonna be bad for YOU! It's a FAILURE of the BUSINESS OWNER by not making adequate VENTILATION in their workplaces. NO ONE is to blame except for the business owners and their workers who continued to breathe these toxic fumes for so long.

They need to take responsibility for their poor choice of work.
