  • L.A. Noire was said to have used Lightsprint for lighting, but imo it wasn't really that evident.

  • I always use the OpenGL benchmark (2011.07.02). It is perfect for testing the stabity in overclocking. (Run here for 8800GT OC (clocks: GPU-692, DDR3-1082, VPU_Shaders-1784).

    A good benchmark, as Furmark.

    Regards and good week-end everyone.

    Le Docki / tcs709, France.

  • What setup do I need to run it with a good framerate?

  • @elevul Answered myself: 124fps with a Pentium D 2.8 and a Nvidia Gt220 (latest drivers and DX) at 1920x1080. Had some artifacts on the doll, but not a problem. Sad that we can't see this lighting in games. :(

  • Average fps 625.5 with i7 920 and gtx 460 sli :)

  • I got an average of 120 fps on 1920x1080 on my system.

    Core i5-750, 6GB DDR3 RAM, 1GB HD5550, Win7 Pro x64...

  • What a difference eight months and a new system purchase makes. Test rig: Core2Quad Q8300, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 512 MB DDR3 GTS250, Win 7 Home Prem. Scores = 592.4 FPS at 1280x1024 FS, 556.1 FPS at 1024x768 FS, and 625.6 FPS at 800x600 Window. Nice step up from the 16 I was seeing before.

  • song name?:D

  • Got 340 fps average on 1920x1080.

  • Holy shit. I can't wait to see this in Noire. This is an entirely new level of lighting and will really change the atmosphere of gaming.

  • After upgrading RAM from 512 to 1 GB, my benchmark averages dropped 0.1 FPS. Is this a software bug? I've tried changing page file settings, scanned the registry for errors, and defragged. No change.

  • Average 16.0 FPS at native 1024x768 fullscreen resolution. Also tested 11.6 FPS average at 1280x1024 fullscreen and 20.3 FPS average in 800x600 window. Graphics card used was a 256 MB Connect3D ATI Radeon 9600 series (AGP 4X); 324 mhz core clock and 203 mhz memory clock. Other specs include P4 at 2.4 GHZ, 512 MB PC800 RDRAM.

  • 877 FPS @ 1680x1050

    E8400 @ 4.0GHz

    EVGA GTX 295 CO-OP

  • Make that 972 after upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate x64 :)

  • 1091.5 average fps @ 1280x1024

    i7 920 @ 3.6Ghz

    Zotec GTX295

  • 805.2 @ 1920x1200

    1246.4 @ 640x480

    all fullscreen

  • With half the GPU as you (GTX 275) I scored 830.5 FPS, so clearly this thing isn't very multi-GPU optimized.

  • what rez?

  • I was replying to your last post so 1280x1024. And sadly enough without OCing my card I get a way lower score than sataninside01 who's apparently using a GTX 260.

  • Thought so. can you run it any higher cause I think the real difference comes at higher resolutions.

  • I can run up to 1920x1080.

P.S., I found out that my results were skewed because of the NVIDIA Control Panel forcing it to use 4x AA. :p

I'll get back in a sec.

  • I got 640 FPS avg. after resetting the NVIDIA Control panel.

  • the song is exaxtly

    Insist "HEY YOU" (fonky &love)

  • What's the name of the song?

  • 韻シスト - Hey You

  • I still don't understand how some of your guys with 45nm duals and quads along with 260/280GTX's get such low scores..

  • It is a very nice benchmark... and it ran at over 100FPS!!!

Oh, and it shows the capabilities of OpenGL, which is very nice :)

  • i get 356.3 fps on 1680x1050

    system:

    q6600 @2.4 ghz

    ATI HD 4870 x2

    4 GB RAM

    vista x64

  • e7400- 4.30 ghz. gtx 260 core 216, 2gb ram, vista x86 i get 604.6 fps on 1680x1050

  • q9550

    p5k wi-fi premium

    gtx 280

    corsair xms2 8500

    680 fps (lightscribe 2008)

  • I get 306.7 fps 1280 x 1024, 307fps with 1440x900

    e5200

    asus p5ql pro

    kingston hyperx 2 x1 ddr2 667

    asus (noisy) hd 4670

    Though 9600gt gets 341 with a e8200 @ 3.6ghz, and Corsair PC3-14400 DDR3 1800MHz

I think that okay for I paid for, and considering ati doesn't like opengl

  • Odd, considering I have SLI 9800 GTX's and only get ~285 with the same settings.

Of course, my CPU is a e6300 @ 3.3 ghz. Perhaps that makes a difference? I guess I really do need a CPU upgrade.

  • Is that the 2007 lightsmark or the 2008 version?

  • 2k7, and I did find out about the performance difference.

  • ATI HD have the SM 4.1 global illumination. Too bad it's only for vista.

  • how is the song called? PLEASE answer!

  • e6550 2.33 ghz @ 2.8 ghz

    asus p5b deluxe 965p chipset

    kingston 2 x 1 800mhz @ 800mhz

    asus 9800gtx+ default

maybe you wont believe but i am getting over about 650 fps :S

i will post screenshot to people who doesn't believe...

any program could cause this...has anyone seen or heard anything like this??

  • Thank you for this very useful product Stepan. I advertised your software in my site.

  • i have no words!

  • Very cool.

    Specs:

    AMD Phenom 9850BE ~ 2.5 GHZ

    MSI K9A2 Platinum (790FX)

    4gb Gskill DDR2 800

    Windows XP Pro SP2

    ATi Radeon HD 4870

    323FPS Average At 1280x1024 Fullscreen

  • Skvělá práce Štěpáne :-)

  • This is fantastic!! Excellent work!

  • Hi, I just finished Lightsmark 2008. It renders the same scene faster, with more detailed lighting, and it newly supports Linux and 64bit OSes. Additional details would be hardly visible in this low res playback, so I'm not updating it, it's still the old 2007 version. You can see 2008 in hires if you download executables from project web.

  • lol.. am i the only one here getting over 300 fps average? lol

  • at 1280x1024 = 445.5 fps at 1680x1050 = 380 fps. full screen.

    Intel c2d E4500 2,2 @ 2,9 GHz

    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 rev. 2.0

Nvidia XFX 8800 GTS 512 MB.

    2GB DDR2 800 MHz @ 795 MHz OCZ special...

    Windows XP pro sp3

  • why are you talking bshit, i have

    INtel Q9300 @ 3,0Ghz (Watercooled)

    Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6

    Nvidia XFX 9800 GX2 1GIG [XXX]

    4GB OCZ DDR3 w Heatpipe RAM

    and i get 320 ~ fps fullscreen.

  • one.xthost.(info)/diaxdanix/lightsmark/

  • DUDE! I've also got a GX2 and I hit over 650, check your drivers and try again! 320 is too low.

  • E6600 3.6 DDR2-800 CAS-5 XFX 512Mb 8800GTS, I'm hitting 645.1, honestly would have expected more from a GX2...

  • Also ATI cards score lower than NVIDIA, strange I know but thats how it is apparently. Is no good for comparing ATi to NVIDIA.

  • Is this benchmark based upon opengl?

  • Yes, OpenGL 2.0 to be specific.

  • e7400- 4.30 ghz. gtx 260 core 216, 2gb ram, vista x86 i get 705.6 fps on 1280x1024

  • 649 fps in 1280x1024 @ q6600 at 4.2 and a 9800gtx at 900/2250/2440 watercooled, lol

  • nice lol. suicide q66 ;p

  • Exactly..i have an intel core 2 duo E8600 3.33 gigahertz, 4 gigs of ram, Nvidia geforce 9800GX2 and i just make 297 frames per second on Lightsmark 2007

Any 1 claiming 650 frames per second is exagerrating

  • Try running Lightsmark 2008 instead of 2007. I get over 300 with an HD 4670.

  • AMD X2 6400+ Black Edition

    8GB DDR2 800 RAM

    Crossfire x2 4850s

    Windows Vista x64

173.8 Average Fps at 1920x1200 resolution

Everyone complaining about different fps needs to go back and post the resolutions they ran it at and also if it was fullscreen or not. big differences.

  • 287.3 Frames

XFX 8800GT XXX Alpha Dog Edition (512 Mb)

    Intel Core2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00 GHz

    GeiL 2 x 1 GB RAM PC2-6400 DDR2 800MHz

  • I get an average of 153.3fps using:

    Geforce 7900gtx 512mb

    Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 @1.80ghz

2 GB RAM OCZ SLI ready RAM PC2-6400

  • Meh...

The program is very useful, and I've noticed I'm able to get what I would think of as a "respectable" framerate for much of the benchmark. I'm running nothing high end, and IMO, it doesn't matter what my GFX card is (if I say, I'll have moronic fanboys of the opposite saying shit, like 1/2 the fanboy replies).

The damned GPU doesn't fucking matter so long as it gets you by, newfags.

  • I got 333.9 with an Intel Quad Core runnin at 2.75 with dual 8800GTS in SLI. Cracked 15000 on futuremark 06.

  • Go shove your ATIs up your ass. We don't care what you think about NVIDIA or what your system is. Same goes for the fag with the Quad, you self satisfying retard. Bet your rig is bought with daddy's and mommy's money (@quadfag).

  • roflz

  • By the way, retard, I got a score only 10 FPS lower on my 8800 GTS (at 1680x1050). So your puny ATI rig sucks ass.

  • I'm not saying anything about my buy, I'm saying stuff about your capacity to brag and you not being able to install your drivers correctly/whatever you fucked up on your system. And if you say that I made a bad decision, don't just say it is so cause you say it is. It's just like I tell you that your mom is a whore cause I say so. Bring arguments. But I guess you can't, since you can't even install a video card. Small dick man :)).

  • Gratz! You just have proven that you have the logic of a two year old :). Just realised you have no arguments, only a preconception, and now you dropped all hope and called my mother names. Just a sidenote, I was giving an example with the whore thing, but your IQ is probably too low to get that.

And, I don't have anger issues. Except cases like yours, where the stupidity hits the fan and messes up the whole discution.

  • Whoa, the fanboys clash out...

  • Why am I a fanboy?

  • lol... thats all I have to say

  • Professional!

  • THIS is exactly what we need these days, not new hardware, but more efficiency. All of these lighting effects are in Crysis, i believe, but this benchmark performs far faster than crysis, which is an exemplary achievement, if only more programmers were working on efficiency these days, once again great job. :D

  • Nope, they're not all in Crysis.

  • yeah, i couldnt remember for sure which stuff CE2 supported

  • Hi ! Great work !

Does it correspond to any publication ?

Is it a real solution to radiating transfers or a faked approximation ? I was wondering how to get infinite bounces of the real lighting solution at 400fps!...

    Thanks ! :)

  • Thanks! It's real, I described it in "realtime radiosity integration" but it's not peer reviewed publication, just article on my web.

  • Hi ! I don't have time to read it yet (at least not until the 24th of january :p ), but a friend told me a little bit more on that.. It is FEM with vertices elements (I saw a paper a few years ago on radiosity for point based geometry - should be roughly the same), isn't it ?

So I also guess that a 200fps you are quite limited to really low frequency effects, but it's nice anyway ;)

  • I think that it looks like it's a strong light soure,so this is why this much light bounces around.

  • questions? click on the link in "about this video"

  • its uses a map from world of padman

    its a great game!

  • IMO the color bleeding is a bit too much, it looks a bit unrealistic in the example.

  • yes, it's intentionally bit stronger, you are good observer

  • Ah ok.

I looked at the demo, nice tech!

  • got 401.4 FPS @ 1440x900 with 8800GTX, intel Q6600 at 3.18ghz, 4gb OCZ..... BTW cool looking benchmark!

  • bloody nice man!!

  • 106.6@1680x1050 7900gtx

  • I got 269.4 @ 1440x900 :D (highest what monitor will go)

  • My laptop got 61 average fps lol at 1024X768, it got 46.7 average fps at 1440X900 hehe. My desktop can't handle it. lol

  • WOW! it looks amazing!

    I just DLed the benchmark

and I got myself: 260.8 AVG FPS

    Niceeeeeeeeeee!

  • w/ wat card?

  • MSI 8800 GTX OC edition with 1280X1024

    E6600 @3GHz

    2GB RAM

So I'm upgrading my PC today and I will let you know the new result, saludos! eriku

  • update !!!

    286.1 FPS

    E8400 @4.20GHz

    GT OC edition SLI

4 GB RAM OCZ SLI ready RAM PC2-6400

  • anybody know the name of the song?

  • Hey you by IN-SIST

  • Can you post some other videos of other scenes please ?

You're a god Stepan ! You're global illumination system impresses me more than ten kg of Crysis !

  • Thanks :)

I'm only coder, low on scenes... if you have nice scenes, it would be great to make something together.

  • Oh, I even didn't know that you answered me :p. I'm also only coder :D.

  • very good, but if it is a benchmark were can i download it?

  • never mind i found the link.

  • Incredible ! I wonder how you are getting such a framerate !

  • My hd2900xt gets 110 FPS in average according to that benchmark.

  • Great works.
