I always use the OpenGL benchmark (2011.07.02). It is perfect for testing the stabity in overclocking. (Run here for 8800GT OC (clocks: GPU-692, DDR3-1082, VPU_Shaders-1784).
@elevul Answered myself: 124fps with a Pentium D 2.8 and a Nvidia Gt220 (latest drivers and DX) at 1920x1080. Had some artifacts on the doll, but not a problem. Sad that we can't see this lighting in games. :(
What a difference eight months and a new system purchase makes. Test rig: Core2Quad Q8300, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 512 MB DDR3 GTS250, Win 7 Home Prem. Scores = 592.4 FPS at 1280x1024 FS, 556.1 FPS at 1024x768 FS, and 625.6 FPS at 800x600 Window. Nice step up from the 16 I was seeing before.
After upgrading RAM from 512 to 1 GB, my benchmark averages dropped 0.1 FPS. Is this a software bug? I've tried changing page file settings, scanned the registry for errors, and defragged. No change.
Average 16.0 FPS at native 1024x768 fullscreen resolution. Also tested 11.6 FPS average at 1280x1024 fullscreen and 20.3 FPS average in 800x600 window. Graphics card used was a 256 MB Connect3D ATI Radeon 9600 series (AGP 4X); 324 mhz core clock and 203 mhz memory clock. Other specs include P4 at 2.4 GHZ, 512 MB PC800 RDRAM.
I was replying to your last post so 1280x1024. And sadly enough without OCing my card I get a way lower score than sataninside01 who's apparently using a GTX 260.
Hi, I just finished Lightsmark 2008. It renders the same scene faster, with more detailed lighting, and it newly supports Linux and 64bit OSes. Additional details would be hardly visible in this low res playback, so I'm not updating it, it's still the old 2007 version. You can see 2008 in hires if you download executables from project web.
Exactly..i have an intel core 2 duo E8600 3.33 gigahertz, 4 gigs of ram, Nvidia geforce 9800GX2 and i just make 297 frames per second on Lightsmark 2007
Any 1 claiming 650 frames per second is exagerrating
Everyone complaining about different fps needs to go back and post the resolutions they ran it at and also if it was fullscreen or not. big differences.
The program is very useful, and I've noticed I'm able to get what I would think of as a "respectable" framerate for much of the benchmark. I'm running nothing high end, and IMO, it doesn't matter what my GFX card is (if I say, I'll have moronic fanboys of the opposite saying shit, like 1/2 the fanboy replies).
