We now have split second communication. The electoral college is an idea only supported by those that agree with maintaining a level of fascist rule over the people. It is a FACT that the Electoral College was designed to decide the elections before the advent of the telegraph. The fastest form of communication was ships sailing up * down the US coast. The other form of transportation was horse. It took weeks for voting returns to travel from far reaching states to the Capital. Sorry U missed that in 9th grade social studies. I am actually pretty hopeful that one day the "younger people" will realizes that now EVERYONE is anti-establishment and so maybe it won't be as "cool" and they can actually use something beside celebrities and songs to help them form an opinion on the govenment. Tim Russert is someone who goes into interviews w/ limited advance info on his subjects. I saw his interview w/ Jann Werner of Rolling Stone. He held up a copy of Rolling Stone from 1974 stating it was from 1964. The pic on the cover is from 1964 but the issue wasn't.Rolling Stone didn't start publishing until 1967! Did he do ANY research for this interview? How old is he? What was he doing in 1964, 1967 & 1974 for him to not know this!
