@makeuplovetv Hi, leave it wrapped in a towel on your head for about 20minutes to absorb excess water. Then take your hair out of the towel and comb out. Flip your hair down toward the ground and back up again to separate the strands. Do that 2-3 times. It should dry much quicker.
Do you ever use heat protectant for your hair before straightening? Do you ever use one before going outside in the summer, like at the beach? I'm wondering what your thoughts are on them :) Thanks!
@mangokitty13 Hi, I straighten my hair very little and it's usually just around my face. I do think heat protectants are great. When I go to the beach, I usually spritz on a little Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist. You can mix your favorite leave in conditioner with a water in a spray bottle and spray your hair for the same effect.
I love your videos there really helpful! I'm a guy and trying to grow out my hair and so far I've done everything about hair in your videos and my hair turns out wonderful everyday! I have thick brownish blonde hair, however I want to change the style as it grows because I'm never quite happy with what it looks like after a while. Should I get it cut all to 1 length or just trim it while it grows. Thanks! And I love your videos!:)
Hi, thanks for the great feedback. I'm so glad you like my videos. If you are trying to grow your hair out quickly, then you probably just want to trim it periodically as it grows. If you are trying to achieve a one-length hairstyle, then each time you trim, simply trim it straight around at the bottom. Eventually your layers will grow down and you will trim them along with the bottom ends.
Hi, yes I do, but unfortunately I cannot demonstrate that for you as I would have to cut significant length off my hair and as you know I love long hair. Please see my video on how to cut your own hair and simply cut off the amount you want. It helps to have a buddy nearby to check if you were straight in the back.
Thankyou for your videos. You have really beautiful hair. I have long hair like yours and it's great to find someone who actually cares about treating their hair right! Thankyou so much for your tips, I can't wait to put them into practise.
that straightner dosent work very well i only have to fgo over my thick hair once u should try a more powerful one.. also thanks for the tip about blow drying upside down that seriously helpeed my hair thanks :)
Hi, it was already a bit past my shoulders when I started, so from there it took about two years. Your hair grows about 1/2 inch a month so that';s 6 inches a year. You can use that as a gauge to determine where you want to grow your hair to and how long it might take. You will have to take exception care to avoid breakage or it could take longer :o)
I wrote you a while back about my long dry damaged hair, I finally worked up the courage to cut off as much of the dry parts as I could.....the end result, I ended up cutting my hair into an inverted stacked bob! It is shorter in the back and comes around longer in the front, it look's and feel's sooooo much healthier! I still have about 3to 4 inches of blonde in it, so I still use the Olive Oil treatments! I use the round brush and dryer when I want to style it! Any more tips?
Hi, just be careful with the blow dryer and round brush. Only style when you really have to and focus on the top layers to protect the underneath layers. Avoid blow drying until your hair is bone dry and be sure to use a heat protectant before styling. Your new cut sounds lovely. Enjoy the new you!
QUESTION: my hair is curly, wen it drys out it turn pofy. i blow dry my hair without a round brush nd it ends up lookin frizzy, pofy, and ugly but wen i straight it, it ends up lookin like a lion. i dont know why. Please Help + when i get rolos & straight it, end up lookin great but i cant do rolos.
Hi, you don't mention how long your hair is, but growing it long can really help with the puffiness. For now, I would try applying an anti-frizz serum before blow drying. Hold the blow dryer pointing down the hair shaft so you don't puff it up by going against the hair's grain. When you are done blow drying on the warm setting, dry it with the cold setting. This will help seal the cuticle and prevent frizzing.
hi :) .. would u please re-do the flat ironing thing when u were looking to the mirror the same way u did in the "Pretty Ponytail With Braids Wrapped With Hair Style for Long, Medium, Short Hairstyles " video !? .. the camera angel was just PERFECT ! :) .. thanks dear :) ..
Hi, I condition after every shampoo and I use a deep conditioner (olive oil) three times a month. Please see my video on Deep Conditioning with Olive oil. Shampooing everyday can be very drying for your hair and can lead to excessive oil production. For people who have extremely oily hair, they can wash everyday; others don't need to.
Hi, I shampoo about three times a week, but it depends on what I'm doing and the season. Sometimes I might add a fourth. I try to let my hair air-dry on days where it doesn't matter so I can give it a break from the blow dryer. I do not wash my hair everyday.
Hi, I think a flat iron is more damaging because it is direct heat applied to dry hair and there is a lot of room for error due to overuse or leaving on your hair too long, etc.
Hi, I think you might like to try side swept bangs. They are very flattering for most face shapes . If you are experiencing dry hair, be sure to condition it after every shampoo and use a leave in conditioner before styling. Please check out my deep conditioning with olive oil video for tips on deep conditioning treatment for dry hair.
Hi, I'm 17 years old and have extremely long hair. My problem is i don't know how to deal with a LOT of hair. I have tried different products, but i can't seem to get my frizzyness away and to add shine. I never dyed my hair but i natural have different colors. Any recommendations on how to treat my frizzyness? I'm tired of buying useless products that i really don't see results. I would appreciate any replies from anyone. Thanks =]
Hi, you may want to try braiding your hair right after washing it. Just place some leave in conditioner on it and place it in a braid. Leave it that way until it is dry. When you take your hair out it will have beautiful waves and the frizziness will have been tamed. Let me know how you like it.
Hi, take really gentle care of it. Limit heat styling as much as possible; be sure to condition after you shampoo and maintain a healthy diet and enough sleep. A multi vitamin daily also helps :o)
okay thanks, oh well i already have highlights and my mom wont let me color it and so i love this blonde on top of dark brown(lowlights) so instead i got long dark brown hair extensions.
Hi, I do highlight my hair. Please take a look at my "highlight your own hair videos" to see how I do it and what I use. I think you will find it helpful.
Hi, unfortunately you cannot stop hair fall. It is a natural process. It is normal to lose up to 100 hairs a day. If you feel you are losing more than 100 hairs a day (and you must count each one to know), or see bald patches, then you should see a dermatologist. It is normal to lose hair every day. There is always some portion of your hair in the fall stage and it will be replaced by new hair.
i just got this hair protect ant and its called IC something like that but i dont know if it really will protect my hair because my hair know its damage because of all the heat!
Hi, are your referring to Fantasia IC Heat Protectant? If so, I have not tried it. Please stop back and let us know what you think of it. The most common complaint about heat protectants is that they leave hair sticky. Hopefully, this one will work for you.
Hi, it will definitely be better for your hair to dial it down to 15-20. Be sure to condition every time you shampoo and use a leave-in conditioner with a heat protectant before you flat iron. If you can go without flat ironing the whole head and just do certain sections for an overall look and leave the underneath and perhaps very back of your head natural.
Hi, heat protectants are great and I always recommend them to people who use heat styling very frequently. I do not and using my technique of simply selecting a few spots to flat iron for a certain look, significantly cuts down on any damage, so for me a leave in conditioner protects very well.
Your hair looks a bit flyaway even after straightening. I also have long hair and what I do is spray a little light hair spray on my hands and run that over my hair surface as a final finish. This controls those flyaways pretty well.
Hi, that's usually how it looks right after I'm done, but it will calm down in an hour or so when it's fully dry. I too use hair spray sometimes to tame any frizziness that might arise due to the weather etc. I also use jojoba oil; just a tiny bit smoothed on the surface is great for that. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, sometimes I apply a small amount of jojoba oil to the outer surface. Really helps seal cuticle and keep the frizziness down. I have wavy hair and I just go with it. When the weather is dry, my hair will stay pretty straight, but when it's really humid and raining, it will curl up and I'll just wear my hair curlier that day. I like the change and I don't worry about trying to have the exact same hair everyday. I have found that the flat iron is the one thing that will keep it straight all day
Hi! My hair is naturally really thick and smooth, and I've been styling it with the curling iron a lot lately. I like iy curly, but I think I'd like to keep it looking more natural. But, every time I use my flat iron my hair looks stringy and flat. I just want it to look SMOOTH, that's all. Also, I NEED to have height up top, because if I don't, it drags my face down and makes me look like a frump. lol. any ideas for me?
Hi, you can try using the blow dryer instead to straighten your hair. First blow it upside down to add volume, then use a round brush to straighten it. Start your straightening a few inches down from hairline so you don't disturb the volume. Another thing you can try, but this is using your flat iron is to lift your hair straight up as you run the flat iron through it. It will give you a fuller look vs. going straight down your hair toward the floor. Hope that helps :o)
Hi, when you have time, please take a look at my video "Help for Dry Frizzy Static Hair and Winter Care Tips to Protect Your Style & Grow Your Hair Longer" by going to my channel. I think it will really help :o)
Hi, using an anti-frizz serum works to control the frizz, or you can use a tiny bit of jojoba oil. Just put a small amount in your palm, rub your hands together and smooth it onto your hair. To avoid breakage which also contributes to frizz, be sure to be as gentle as possible to your hair. Limit heat styling, avoid pulling it back tight with a rubber band. Please see my video called Tips and Hairstyle to Prevent Breakage for some helpful tips.
hey, i have a question. whenever i straighten my bangs or any short hair it always end up sticking straight out! do you know why it does that, and how to prevent it? it looks very weird
Hi, I'm not sure why that happens to you. Be sure you are straightening you hair in a downward direction and not pulling the iron outward as you go down your hair.
Hello. I am a stylist, and most of the time that happens is your bangs are too short and your iron is too wide. Or your iron is too hot and you're holding it in place for too long, which you should never do. Just barly clamp down with the flat iron on a small section of hair and go straight out and curve it in as you reach the ends.
how long does it take to do all that stuff with your hair because im thinking about if i need to wake up earlier for school cause i wake up at 6:40...do u think i should get up sooner?
Hi, this takes me about 10 minutes from combed out wet hair to finished styling. Remember I do not blow dry my hair until it's bone dry, and since I only straighten the outer layers and around my face, those areas are already completely dry to work with. I usually blow dry quickly to the style I want, turn on the straightener, go do a few other things, then come back when it's hot and straighten my hair which takes about 5 minutes. You get faster with practice!
I gotta say you totally reminded me to take it easy on my hair! Its getting long, I havent had it this long since I was 6 years old, and i am trying to see how long I can get it before it starts getting dry and brittle.
Anyhow, I think im going to take your sugestions and apply them ASAP so maybe I can keep my hair long, and most importantly, HEALTHY like yours! Thanks alot, you were very imformative.
Hi, I'm so glad my video helped remind you to be more gentle. It will definitely make a difference to your growth. Good luck growing it, and thank you for your very kind compliment on my hair :o)
It took me about 2 years to grow it out and now I just try to maintain in around this length. Of course, I would love it longer, so I'm still growing it!
Hi, I do use a heat protector when I flat iron if my hair needs it. I usually use a tiny amount of coconut oil. I suggest deep conditioning 1-2 times per month. More if your hair is really damaged.
Hi, I love a small straightener because I can create different looks much easier.. Sometimes I use it to build a wave into my hair to frame my face. Also, I never straighten all of my hair - too drying. Thanks for your comment!
Hi, I never straighten my whole head because it would be too damaging; I only straighten a few areas like I show you in the video. This helps me get the look I want and minimize the damage. I love the small straighten because I have so much more control.
Hi, some hair fall is totally normal. You can lose up to 100 hairs a day and that's nothing to worry about because there are always hairs that enter this fallout stage. If you find that it appears to be excessive to you may need to examine a few things about your life that could cause this: too little calories, stress, recent illness among them. If any of these reasons fit, that could be why and you would need to make some changes.
Now I have it reshaped to a good hairdresser, but it will took me a long time to have my long hair back...:-( How can I manage my hair while I'm waiting they grow back? (It is medium lenght , a little weavy and too layered)
Second: I'm visiting the USA for holiday, and I know that usually in the hotels there aren't hand held shower. How do you wash your hair in those situations?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
I really appreciate your fitness videos too, I'm very fond of fitness!
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear of your bad salon experience. Don't fret, we've all been there at one time. It will grow. In the mean time, try pulling it back with a claw clip, making a cute little ponytail and letting some of the short layers around your face fall out, or do a sexy updo with tendrils hanging out. When I go on vaca. and there's no hand-held, I just have to make do and shampoo in the shower. Just carefully shampoo under the hair to the scalp. Don't pile your hair on your head.
I'm so happy to have found your videos, they are really helpful and you era so kind! We share the same hair routine: I've always wash my hair and blow dry it just the way you do :)
I have now two concerns about my hair , and I'll be glad to have your opinion about. I have always had long hair, lightly layered. Two months ago I went to a new hairdresser because my old one moved away, and she ruined my hair , because she gave me a horrible too layered cut that I hate
Hi, I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner. I love it. I am able to grow my hair long with gentle care, conditioning every time a shampoo to help retain moisture and prevent split ends, and maintaining a healthy diet. I also deep condition with olive oil at least twice a month.
Hi, it depends if you are looking to tame your curls or enjoy them with a lot of volume because turning your head upside down adds volume to your hair. If you are trying to have your hair lie down more with less volume you would keep your head upright and blow dry in a downward position. Let me know :o)
I've been trying to grow my hair for a while, it grows very slow. I've been using Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner that works great; it's been making my hair grow faster. In the process of growing my hair I will use all of these tips because my hair is naturally wavy also, thanks!
Hi, the only other way is by using a blow dryer and a round brush to straighten. Unfortunately, both involve heat to your hair and you have to be careful not to over dry your hair and cause breakage.
Of course you can. You need to start fresh by trimming off your dry damaged ends and then take really good care of your hair going forward. Be sure to purchase the correct shampoo for your hair type and condition after each shampoo. Always apply a leave-in conditioner before styling. Also, healthy hair comes from the inside so a healthy diet is very important as is proper rest. Give it a few months, you will see wonderful results.
Hi, I love blond hair and I used to have it that way for a while, but I wanted something more natural and less drying and damaging to my hair, and I missed my natural color. What I like about having my hair highlighted on the outer layer only and in chunky streaks is that it creates depth and it's so much healthier. It's hard to see in the video, but my natural color is a dirty blond to light brown and it looks like the sun streaked it. Thanks for your suggestion :o)
I used to wear my hair much more highlighted, but it's such an expense to keep up. I also thought it was very drying to my hair so I decided to do some blonde highlighting and leave the rest natural. Thanks so much for the suggestion; I'm a big fan of platinum blonde hair!
hey thanks alot! if you could help me in stlying long curls...that will really nice of you...i ve a long hair...but as yours...will be waiting for ur response!
Lucky you!! Your hair sounds gorgeous. Depending on how you want your hair styled I have two different suggestions. If you want a lot of volume and body, go ahead and blow dry upside down until slightly damp and finish it off with cool setting to seal cuticle using your figures to style and separate curls. If you want them to lay down more us a leave in anti frizz conditioner then blow dry using a diffuser attachment.
This is a wonderful turtorial. I have long hair (not as long as yours-lol) and I just purchased my first flat iron, I've been having fun with it and I've been successful too! Your tips have helped me out even more. Thanks!! And your hair is AWESOME!! Thank you for posting your series of helpful tips!! :D
Wow - thanks so much for the wonderful feedback and for your lovely compliment on my hair; you're very kind :o) I'm really glad you found my video helpful.
Hi, having long hair does take a bit extra time, but not much. It may seem long to you because I am doing a video, but in actuality, combing it out, putting in some leave in conditioner, and blow drying and styling takes me less that 10 minutes. Especially since I don't blow dry my hair bone dry - only till it's slightly damp, and then I let the air do the rest. Thanks so much for your comment!
I love the fact that you expain everything in detail..I am now washing my hair like you mentioned by not conditioning the scalp just the ends, and the products you have recommended are great and have totally improved my hair
Using a heat protectant is very good. It's o.k. to use a flat iron on all your hair if your hair is not already over processed or over dry. It's best if you don't do it every day though because it removes the natural moisture from your hair. Be careful not to go over it too many times in a row and using smaller pieces of hair will help you avoid that. Thanks so much for your comment!
I was also wondering if i can use the Garnier Fructis sleek and shine flat iron perfector straightening mist? Thanks!

Thanks for sharing.

how do u keep u'r hair straight all day iv been trying to find something for my hair please help me
footballraven16 1 year ago
Hi, sometimes I apply a small amount of jojoba oil to the outer surface. Really helps seal cuticle and keep the frizziness down. I have wavy hair and I just go with it. When the weather is dry, my hair will stay pretty straight, but when it's really humid and raining, it will curl up and I'll just wear my hair curlier that day. I like the change and I don't worry about trying to have the exact same hair everyday. I have found that the flat iron is the one thing that will keep it straight all day
YouTips4U 1 year ago

Hi, I have naturally curly hair, and I would really like to wear it straight sometimes without straightning with an iron. What should I do?
thedoodlebox 1 year ago
Hi, your only other option would be to use a round brush and blow dryer to straighten it.

hey, how can i get rid of frizz and breakadge
lilbear271 2 years ago
Hi, using an anti-frizz serum works to control the frizz, or you can use a tiny bit of jojoba oil. Just put a small amount in your palm, rub your hands together and smooth it onto your hair. To avoid breakage which also contributes to frizz, be sure to be as gentle as possible to your hair. Limit heat styling, avoid pulling it back tight with a rubber band. Please see my video called Tips and Hairstyle to Prevent Breakage for some helpful tips.

hey, i have a question. whenever i straighten my bangs or any short hair it always end up sticking straight out! do you know why it does that, and how to prevent it? it looks very weird
luvabl3angel 2 years ago
Hi, I'm not sure why that happens to you. Be sure you are straightening you hair in a downward direction and not pulling the iron outward as you go down your hair.
YouTips4U 2 years ago
Hello. I am a stylist, and most of the time that happens is your bangs are too short and your iron is too wide. Or your iron is too hot and you're holding it in place for too long, which you should never do. Just barly clamp down with the flat iron on a small section of hair and go straight out and curve it in as you reach the ends.

how long does it take to do all that stuff with your hair because im thinking about if i need to wake up earlier for school cause i wake up at 6:40...do u think i should get up sooner?
tiffybear13 2 years ago

Do you use heat protecter on your hair...... and how often would you deep condition your hair??? : )
Sugarpufflover94 2 years ago
Hi, I do use a heat protector when I flat iron if my hair needs it. I usually use a tiny amount of coconut oil. I suggest deep conditioning 1-2 times per month. More if your hair is really damaged.
YouTips4U 2 years ago
Thats a small hair straightener, and you hanve long gorgous hair, does it take you a long time to straighten ALL OF IT?
O,O
xxLilkruzzxx 2 years ago 2
Hi, I love a small straightener because I can create different looks much easier.. Sometimes I use it to build a wave into my hair to frame my face. Also, I never straighten all of my hair - too drying. Thanks for your comment!

Love Your Hair!
xxLilkruzzxx 2 years ago

I really appreciate your fitness videos too, I'm very fond of fitness!
padmini22 2 years ago
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear of your bad salon experience. Don't fret, we've all been there at one time. It will grow. In the mean time, try pulling it back with a claw clip, making a cute little ponytail and letting some of the short layers around your face fall out, or do a sexy updo with tendrils hanging out. When I go on vaca. and there's no hand-held, I just have to make do and shampoo in the shower. Just carefully shampoo under the hair to the scalp. Don't pile your hair on your head.

Hi!

I have very curly hair, and i was wondering if you can still use this same method of blow drying and straightening, for my hair?
J3ssi3luvsu 2 years ago
Hi, it depends if you are looking to tame your curls or enjoy them with a lot of volume because turning your head upside down adds volume to your hair. If you are trying to have your hair lie down more with less volume you would keep your head upright and blow dry in a downward position. Let me know :o)

I've been trying to grow my hair for a while, it grows very slow. I've been using Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner that works great; it's been making my hair grow faster. In the process of growing my hair I will use all of these tips because my hair is naturally wavy also, thanks!

how do i straighten my hair without using a straight'ner at home. .
xnoxy 2 years ago
Hi, the only other way is by using a blow dryer and a round brush to straighten. Unfortunately, both involve heat to your hair and you have to be careful not to over dry your hair and cause breakage.
YouTips4U 2 years ago

Can I use the flat iron on all my hair but i don't blow dryer but i use a heat protectant. Is that ok?
