  • It's truly a delicious twist on a Bloody Mary or Bloody Caesar. Tried it, loved it, make it weekly!

  • even tough i really like bacon, i can't imagine this to taste too well. has somebody ever tried this?

  • 3 words. Epic. Meal. Time.

  • @SSJkiller epic drink time. just did this

  • @hondatuner816 COMMIE!

  • fuckin disgusting....

  • @xXIModCoDWaWXx I just made up a little batch of Breakfast Sizzler infused Bourbon which turned out delish. Looking for more fatty inspiration...

  • @bartenderone gross!

  • I MUST do this so I can make bacon bloody marys. Awesome tutorial; thanks so much for posting it.

  • I first had a bacon bloody mary in Macau and it was amazing! It came with olives & a large piece of bacon in the drink. I asked my local barkeeper in hong kong if would try it for me and this was the exact process he used. It was perfection. Now that I'm back in the States, I sure do miss that hand made stuff. The commercial stuff here isn't quite as good.

  • how much vodka flavor will it have left after doing this

  • @EmofacePS3 what is vodka flavour?

  • @HeyBartenderOne Have you ever tried CHASE or SCHRAMM vodka before?

  • @PyroChemicals2 I havent tried either... is there something about either brand that you think would make it a good candidate for infusion?

  • @HeyBartenderOne Not necessarily, but they just have a lot of character. I've heard from a lot of bartenders that Vodka is rather looked down on because it aspires to be "Tasteless", which isn't necessarily always true based on many of the brands I've tried. There was even a bartender who wrote a large blog entry called "Vodka is stupid".

  • @PyroChemicals2 lol, I know this bartender! the online comments in response weren't the kindest.

  • @HeyBartenderOne This bartender you know - introduce SCHRAMM or CHASE (If you can find CHASE, it's british, SCHRAMM however is Canadian). I'm not sure if it's for sale in Ontario, it's made in Pemberton (BC).

  • mmmmm.. vodka bacon fat

  • @hondatuner816 I agree, but it tastes delicious!

  • @HeyBartenderOne I think he was referencing the mustache.

  • @suprchunk agreed... its a dirty mo

  • Absolutly it works with Whiskey, Bourbon works best in my opinion but Bacon infused Rye is pretty badass as well

  • Would this recipe work with whiskey too?

  • I'm now half way through the process... stirring every 20 minutes.... though mine looks a lot more cloudy than yours !!

  • @robskyd dont worry about your bacon infused vodka being cloudy at this point, cloudy = flavour. All of that will clear up during filtration. Keep me posted!

  • @HeyBartenderOne I managed to complete the vodka... a few issues in the filtering but once I'd got my head round that it was fine. It really does work, it tastes like Smokey Bacon Crisp (I think you'd call them chips !!!)

  • i'm definately going to try this! Making my brother chilli vodka for christmas...his birthday is in Jan so he might be getting this one next!!

  • @b0ules it's actually a really simple process. I'm sure your brother will like it. if you have questions you can reach us at the office, we'd be happy to help if you have questions during the process.

  • wow that sounds gross . ugh.

  • @silverraine12345 Thanks for your comment... this process tends to really appeal to men, but not women... not sure why. The finished product is delicious if you can get past the process!

  • You can buy this. I've seen it on a bacon merchandise website :-)

  • ....speechless

  • wonderful!

  • Can you sell this stuff in a bar? Is it legal to sell custom-infused liquor?

  • There is a company out of San Francisco that is making it for sale, as for is it legal, it depends on your jurisdiction, and your relationship with your liquor control officer. Large chains might have a challenge, although we have it in a large chain in Canada... smaller restaurants and bars often infuse their own spirits with herbs, spices, fruits etc... protein infusion is no different.

  • Worrying. I can only wonder what the gone-wrong experiments are like.

  • I will never drink anything else if this becomes mass produced and sold in stores.

  • Google "Bakon Vodka". Good luck with sobriety!

  • Oh God.

Thankfully (I suppose) it's not being sold in my state. My wallet, and liver, are safe, for now.

  • hmmm bacon vodka - is that a mans drink?!?!

and when did Mr MacMillan grow the tasche?!?! not sure about it at all!

  • The moustache was grown in the month of "Movember" when teams of people grow moustaches for 30 days in November to raise money for Prostate Cancer. BartenderOne put a team together and now that the complete DVD's are selling, a portion of the proceeds go to support the charity... It was fun, you should get a team together, great parties, guys and girls get involved, supports a great cause. Google "Movember" for more info

  • Awesome - anything for charity is totally cool with me!!!

How much did you raise for it?

    Good on ya son!!

  • no comment...i would never order that drink

  • If its potato vodka, would sour cream and chives go well with it?

  • You just gave me an idea...

  • You might have to enlighten me on your idea. I'm not sure whether I'm curious or somewhat frightened.

  • Be afraid... be very afraid

  • Hahaha. Well I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  • It's an interesting concept, though I'm not 100% sold on bacon vodka. In a caeser it'd be pretty good I suppose, but other than a caeser what would you use it for?

  • Caesars and Marys are all we use the vodka for. We also did a bacon infused bourbon, and made a pancakes and bacon manhattan with a little maple syrup which was delicious.

  • The pancake manhattan does sound good. Something you might want to experiment with maybe (coming from a humble bartender at a night lounge who is no where near your level) is useing spirits and ingrediants w/ the same flavour to really pronounce it. I made up a blended drink with Absolut Mango and mango puree with a vanilla bean sugar rim on the glass. Trying to find the new 'hit' flavour combo is great, I experiment all the time, but it's also fun playing around making things more intense.

  • I agree with the big flavour, but sometimes a flavoured vodka can get lost when you have real big fresh ingredients in the mix... P.S. No egos here at B1, we give the standing "o" to all who have the nuts to experiment! Keep it up!

  • That actually sounds kinda gross lol
