from those debts we all pay, and that is another way how this country is so rich; loans, and loans. Funny though that all those trillions they have gained turned into deficit. This country is wrecked now, or who knows, it's probably something they even planned; call it a conspiracy? How sickening and how unfortunate, but well, we should continue on in this struggle
@Scorpiusgrl Mrs, I live in concepcion Chile, next to the University of concepcion...and I see every day a beautiful country, in harmony and moving forward and growing ... despite the legitimate protests of the students (most protests are peaceful) you do not know about the Chilean reality. We are in development, we go ahead and continue to build a more just and democratic society day by day. Do not believe everything you see on TV. Perhaps, years living in USA, you can develop paranoia.
Ohh and another thing. Here, they have loans because usually a grant would not be enough money to cover your years of study. So with loans they usually give you more money(of course because then you have to pay it back and that's what they are really after; the money) So usually what happens is that every student here in the U.S end up in out of proportion debts, could be 45K to more than 100 thousand dollars. That's what this government does, set up people to debts, to gain money
, living a grand lifestyle flying in expensive jets and all, while us ordinary people working hard and doing all the impossible to have a better living. Unfortunately, it seems like the powerful government wants us to keep us that way; we citizens are their camouflaged, modern slaves. Don't you see. We need no get our rights back, how we all gather and protest. What happened to freedom of speech, huh??
Having a higher education gives you the opportunity to have a better paid job, like also it gives you the opportunity to work in a place where you really want to be; may it be a doctor, engineer, etc. You are doing what you love! The U.S, supposedly the most powerful country in the globe, and it doesn't have free education for us citizens. This government is horrendously selfish, gaining money from all of us citizens through medicare and such
I know that here in the U.S many more young adults like me have this same problem. Some don't give up and keep on pursuing their long careers with all this obstacles, like me, but many others end up dropping out of college because they just simply can no longer afford the expenses. It's pretty sad! I know other students from other countries like Europe, and they have free education there, no wonder, at the age of 21 or 25, they already have Master's and Doctorate Degrees.
jobless to be eligible for grants, otherwise, forget it. Unfortunately, depending on the career you want to pursue, you have to have 100% dedication. Here you have to work full time to be able to pay for school and other expenses, have to have money to pay for your basic personal needs like gas, food, bills, etc.. all while dedicating 100% to higher education. So pretty much those 2 or 7 yrs that such career was suppose to take you, ends up taking you more years, since you can not dedicate 100%
I am Chilean and a student. If I was there, I would probably have this same problem too and yes I'll be protesting. I simply don't understand why we have to pay for higher education, and why do some other countries provide it for free. But I didn't escape from the problem, I live in the U.S. and over here, higher education is ridiculously expensive too and pretty much not affordable for me and many others. Here they give you loans and grants, but yes you pretty much have to be poor and be
Looks like these students want to violate property rights and use the government to steal from others to fund their education. These students are interested in taking other peoples wealth by force if necessary and give nothing in return. Theft by using government force is alive and well.
