i dont like years i have time periods in my life defined by songs BH & BG was all about pink and sakira then BH but AG was worship songs and true acoustic folk and now im in AG AH i am really into paramore rise against and the acoustic stuff i like b4
High school was mostly "It's Goin' Down" by X-Ecutioners and also "Keep It Coming" by Nate Dogg. Those were the days I was just getting into hip hop, and those songs were two of my favorites.
Candy Shop is a great track, but I reckon Fifty could have done a bit better with the lyrics.
What the fuck, Mihn. Your list is EXACTLY THE SAME as mine until 2004. Then you went hip-hop and I went rock & roll. haha And then Mika <3 ahhh, Mika. And I've LOVED Jason Mraz since like, 2003? So yeah.
2005 (year 10) for me was the year I discovered boys and Green Day, so just about any song off the American Idiot album or an earlier Green Day one brings back those memories.
1. The year 1998 Too Deep by Ivana Santilli, changed my life.
2. No sure about this years song.
3. I was class of 1998 but the song that really stuck with me was from my first year at college in 99 "Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen." The Perfect song for someone who's just entering adulthood.
graduation-graduation day by head automatica i listened to it when we were changing
this year i'm not so sure but probably ATL because even though i'm not desperatly homesick it's my first year at uni and i miss my mom and my friends even my job. Even though i hate Cleveland Ohio with a bloody passion
umm...so I don't usually relate periods of times to songs but my year was all about You Don't Know Me by Ben Folds and Regina Spektor, Durmstrang Boy by the Parselmouths and recently I've got nothing WHICH YOU SHOULD GO BUY NOW even thought it doesn't count anymore haha xD
1. Mr Brightside, Dontcha, & Gold Digger remind me of 2005, 1st year at uni: major freshers week tunes!
2. This year is probably Paper Planes for the start, Kids by MGMT for the middle, and You Don't Know Me by Ben Folds & Regina for the end.
3. They played Loch Lomond, which when you're from Scotland gets played as the last song at ALL major events. There was also lots of 90s cheese like No Limit and Boom Boom Boom, so it's hard to define my graduation!
i hate when people use good riddance for high school graduations. my school did it too. It's a break up song. the only way to make me more angry is using it for weddings.
One song that always reminds me of tmy tenth grade year (I was in this outdoors program thing and we always sang it on our trips) is Hips don't lie. I seriously always think of tenth grade without fail whenever I hear that song.
I think my song for this year will be either Jai Ho remix by the pussycat dolls of I got a feeling by the black eyed peas. Both were pretty much around at the best parts of my year.
Im 15 at the moment so grew up listening to so much bad (yet brilliant) pop music. Basically between 98-2004.
This year my song is Mr Brightside by the killers - because it represents that I now listen to actual good music and have grown up tonnes this summer. But Ive got nothing should be it too because the gig was awesome :)
they weren't lesbians, but they wrote their songs as if they were, whether for attention or for yucks, i don't know.
hmm this year's song is..."such great heights" the postal service.
at my graduation they only played the traditional "pomp and circumstance" and the star-spangled banner :-\ boring. but at my junior high "graduation" they played "Good Riddance" lol.
1. For me it is Slide Away - Oasis. Since I am a big fan of Oasis and after their break up I just like listening to my favourite song of theirs.
2. I really have no idea I don't listen to current music all that much. Maybe something by Kayne, since he is so great.... Kidding :P
3. As for graduation.... What could be the most fitting yet most unoriginal song ever! Oh you know it, Vitamin C and her famous song were kicking it at my graduation.
1) I'm sad to say that Cascada's "Everytime We Touch" is my 2006. We blasted it in my friend's convertible coming back from a field trip, and then they played it at my prom. Sigh. Then I heard "Hey There Delilah" every day during summer 2007. No escape at all.
2) Can it be "I've Got Nothing"? :D
3) Our graduation had a string quartet. At commencement, though, they played Queen's "We Are the Champions." The only problem there was that it wasn't followed by "Bicycle."
1) omg Mika totally defined my freshman year of high school. A senior and I became friends cause we both were obsessed with him (& Queen & Rufus Wainwright, but Mika at first) and I thought I was so cool having older friends :-P
2) The Killer's Spaceman will always remind me of this summer cause my friends and I went to go see them for my 17th birthday!! And it only just came out, but I feel like Bad Romance is gonna be my jam this year.
3) They don't play songs at our school's graduations...
chasing cars was 2006.. could not turn on the radio without hearing that song

so that last post was sort of the main favorite music of the majority of my teen years.
I like your songs but they're all too new to be really retrospective about imo.

I loved Pink's Misundaztood ^__^
Oh I love your year by yea, it is so perfect, I remember them all as they play ^__^
Okay, I was with you until 2004.
I love the video for Candy Shop, the scene where the girls whips his shirt off.. I just loved that.
Oh good, I frigging adore Mika. I am so kind of in love with him, and I love his new album.
Was the 2008 song Jason Mraz?
I think the Vloglovers song should be 2009.

ah, mika. so many good memories to mika... and thirsty merc, actually, in 2007. my first year of uni, as well. and my first year in australia!
this year... it's not very mainstream, but for me, it has to be kate miller-heidke "can't shake it."

2. Hmm I think this year for me will be 'I'm on a Boat' It's all about being happy and stoked to be where you are plus it was HUGE
3. I haven't graduated high school yet but my primary school one was 'A Better Way' which was this horrible church song :-/
