I know why the game crashes. If you have too many saves it will crash. Just go into saved data in ps menu. Find skyrim saves you don't need and delete them. That always fixes it with me.

but if you have windows 7, it shows you that it froze... and the window pops up with options

"close the program" "wait to respond" bla bla bla. if you actually click wait to respond and wait a little (5-20 seconds for me). then it unfreezes and actually loads... well it does for me... so try it...
