I'm looking for this exact car but black exterior and a 2010! In Cali, it seems impossible to get a navigation in combo with the manual. If anyone has any useful info please share.
i have a 2008 Hyundai Elantra and my girlfriend a 2009 Corolla and let me tell you something,Hyundai is making very good cars today, not the crappy ones they used to built in the 80's and 90's and the Elantra quality of construction and materials is excellent ,same as the Corolla.
Korean cars gouge the price on replacement parts like no other. You'd think it was made of stainless steel. I pay double the normal rate for brakepads that only lasted 41K miles on my Kia (korean inept auto). After 30K miles the high pressure side steering pump oil line leaked and costs $213.64. I know that if I got a Mercedes I'd win in the long run, like say after 100K miles right when your warranty is up and you realize you should have changed the transmission oil every 50K
I have an Elantra 2008(42k) it had service yesterday ,i drive a lot and still have brakepads for a while, and no problems AT ALL,you said after 30k YOU paid for repairs or your steering pump oil line??what happened with the warranty, your warranty, probably you don't know that you have to give maintenance and void your warranty since you are paying for parts and repairs, then your pretense is :( "Korean inept auto")
Kia only had a 24K warranty or 2 years whichever came first. The main point was the cost of replacement parts and Mercedes Benz actually saving everyone money more in the not too long run.
24K warranty?? 2 years?? where do you live that they offer too short period of warranty coverage, here in Canada Hyundai/Kia offer 5 years -100000 km comprehensive and powertrain warranty.
13 k ! Thanks W. You really brought things to a stand still . The fact that Toyota has landed on it's feet speaks volumes about the bloated , dinosaur , grocery getter American car industry . Not even billions of $ can make up for 50 years of bad engineering and crappy materials . Detroit , wake up !
I mean if you think about it mostly all of the DMV's have corollas as the testing car, because they're more 'reliable' and safer.
So I would say go for the corolla if you're going for a simple, basic car...But on the other hand for the 'cool factor' I would say go for the Matrix, if you're more of a fast driver ;]
Theyre the same exact cars. The only thing diffrent is the looks. Everything else is the same. Its like getting the same car and changing the looks and thats it. I'd go with the Matrix tho cuz in my opinion it looks much better.
Why would Toyota compete with Mazda?? Mazda is so lagging behind compared with other car companys, I mean come on, Toyota vs Mazda?? Mazda doesnt even have a chance.
ur so stupid it snot even funny they look nothing alike you fucking retard both companies bought the same engine thats about all thats the same about it the engine and tranny and shit like that the shells were completely different the headlights tail lights interior even
Actually you stupid fucking ape, he is right, they ARE the exact same car with different styling, the interior is identical. Learn to fucking type, learn to fucking research before posting, and further more, go play in traffic you fucking coon.
yeh he is right but he said it wrong gm helped toyota make the matrix thats why the inside of the martix looks the same an the outside looks 80% the same iv bin in vibes an i own a matrix a yes he is right i talked to a gm person an he told me gm helped toyota make the matrix
i recently bought an 09 matrix base model, it kinda sucks compared to my friends brand new 09 mazda3, the mazda comes with way more features for the same price. hopefully thats due to toyota being dependable. :(

Toyota, I think you guys are trying to hard to compete with Mazda on styling, and honestly, the Mazda3 styling looks much smoother. May be its just me, the Matrix seems to have unincorporative panels here and there. And stealing the 240sx coupe headlight from Nissan isn't nice either.

Toyota screwed up again, in my opinion. The all new Matrix just doesn't do anything for me. It's homely, not sporty enough, too expensive for what it doesnt have, and just doesn't compare to the VW Rabbit or Mazdaspeed 3.
sucks toyota is not bringing back the old VVTL-i and the 6 speed. they should have at least turbo'd the 1.8 instead of putting the camry's engine in there.
The camry's engine has much much more potential than the previous XRS. The Camry motor is boost friendly and will easily do 350hp with STOCK internals.
If you turbo the previous XRS motor, you'll be picking up engine parts for a week.
why this comment? I was just wondering if you had the same motor options because it happens frequently that we don't have the same options as you do and not only regarding motorization.
i didnt mean it like that, im just saying that we are having the same motor's so thats all i have to say (or type). BUt did the matrix come out for you guys down there in Canada? Just asking! Peace Out!
if this has the same 1.8(base model) the old one did i wouldnt bother buying it if u wanna have fun, its way to undepowered, but if u must buy one, then go with the 5 speed
Well, atleast it isnt as bland as the old model (this goes only for the sporty trim) and it stands more for the young buyers, Im sure it will take some business away from the new Scions which are really ugly.....oops, BAD MOVE TOYOTA! Whats with the curves on all your new designs... YUCK!!
real nice car but this music sucks.

I don't about the US but here in Canada we're given the choice between two motors:
4 cyl., 1,8L, 132 hp and an 4 cyl., 2,4L, 158 hp that seems a more interesting option.

Actually does'nt look bad, too bad they lowered the power on the XRS. Why put out a new model with less power ?
RenzokukenSuzaku 4 years ago
Because it has much, much more torque. Trying to launch an 'old' XRS on an incline is an exercise in frustration.
