  • what kind of battery would i need to use to replace the one in the RZ?

  • Waiting for it to get started.....and we're waiting...ah there we go.

    Coolness.

  • Looks like Mister Magic at the bottom of the screen :o

  • I love the Casio RZ-1, but more sampling time wouldn't hurt.

What have you done to it?

  • Nothing other than the circuit bending that Diabolical Devices did.

There are modded RZ-1s with additional sample time (something like three seconds) and additional sound banks. I saw one on eBay before and feel stupid for not trying to grab it; the buy it now was something reasonable like $150-200.

  • Ok, and what did Diabolical Devices do? Is there a schematic?

  • Maybe he would be willing to sell a schematic to you, but I don't have one myself and haven't opened it up.

  • ill webpage, homie.. nice remixes.. i just dusted off my casio rz-1 and threw some smacks from my asr-10 into it.. damn.. this shit really does dirty up drums.. ive read that the RZA used this when the Wu was just in the birth stage and prince paul loves this thing.. it really is the poor man's sp-12.. and to think i just bought it to satisfy my curiosity in 04! thanks for putting me down

  • wow.. simply amazing.. ive had a casio rz-1 but never knew you could tweak the shit like that.. that sounds like an old SP-12.. im gonna go mess with mine right now.. thanks for the inspiration

  • Awesome. I really like this drum machine. You're a lucky guy to have it bent by Diabolical device. If one day you wish to sell ot, I'm on !

    ;-)

  • my 1st real drum machine... got smashed under my bed... if it had more samplin time it would be used.

    da relic

  • Me...King Of The RZ-1 over here in HOLLAND!!!

    Hehehe....

  • hello my friend im trying to midi my casio with an akai s950 (so i can use akai sound by hitting casio pads). So my casio midi in is connected to my s950 midi out (why does it have to be backwards LOL) but i cant get it to work. I made a 16 sound floppy drive on akai directing it to specific casio notes for casios pads (example : c3 48) and the sounds are only o.1 seconds long but my casio will not "play" the akai s950 sounds with casios pads - WHY NOT?

  • You have your midi cables hooked up wrong if that is the case. Make sure both units are on the same midi channel too.

  • It shouldn't be backwards LOL.

  • cool collection qhatani, I only have a few machines. love the rz-1. how much did you get it for?

  • Since it's circuit bent I think I ended up paying $175.

  • Nice demo where do you get all these machines my brother?

  • Mostly eBay. I start to fiend for something then track it down. If I had room I'd add a Drumulator . . .
