  • I used to call this singer a parrot because she screeched like one throughout the song.

  • I have always been confused. Who sang this original, Loleatta Holloway or Martha Walsh. ?

    Both women are GREAT...!

  • @xxyc21 @xxyc21 The song sampled Loleatta Holloway's 1980 disco hit "Love Sensation" and Jennifer Holliday's 1985 "No Frills Love" (see /watch?v=MiJ2B8PFjqU for full explanation).

  • Black women are so beautiful! Amazing bone structure.

  • Saw her perform this song 'live'. She still looks good!

  • La Femme...F.... et toi la fermes !

  • Florence Foresti ma amener ici et vous?

  • @LoraTheBora pareiil ! mdr

  • @LoraTheBora : Pareil! LoooooooL! Je connais la chanson mais pas le titre... C'est incroyable!

  • @LoraTheBora Mdr pareil, Florence Foresti m'a fait découvrir ça. Excellent!!!

  • @LoraTheBora hahahah moi aussi :D lol

  • Heather Small's voice is amazing on this!

  • prefer this version to loleatta holloways version

  • @JadMock there both her black box used a sample of her song an voice an thay got sued for it to an that girl in the vid ant actualy singing it

  • @chavhater08 i know that but the origiinal just didnt click blackbox version worked

  • 80's house

  • twin towers :(

  • RIP Lolleatta Holloway

  • my auntys tune

  • What a voice ...great times that was....

  • Love this song, that makes wanna dance everytime I listen to it !!

  • Loleatta Holloway did the actual singing on this track. Martha Wash did the actual singing on Everybody Everybody as well as most C&C Music Factory songs. These two divas got virtually no credit at the time these songs were at their peak. It was up to the DJ's at the time to let the public know who actually sang them. That is if the public didn't already recognize the voices. Great song of 1989, I just thought it was shady how the group treated the actual singer(s).

  • @OURTIMEISNOW2009 this particular version is the resung version with another singer,, they had to rerecord it after getting sued by loleatta and dan hartman..if you listen closely this is not even the original stolen version. i tell you the music industry can be so shady especially in the late 80's early 90's

  • j'adore

  • pathetic. how dare they not share the love with wartha mash.

  • love this song so much i jus wana go clubn ! :D im 17 and il be the first to say music these days is nothing to what was the 90s !!!

  • This song is one of two that Marsha Wash of the Weathergirls sang for others at about the same time (the other was for C+C Music Factory) for which neither band gave her any credit and in fact credited others (Loweeta Holiday for this song). Martha sued both Black Box and C+C and WON, but in the process got herself blackballed by the industry. Rather sad, that. Size-ism sucks.

  • oh my childhood

  • Fortissima...!

  • yet to find a video of loleatta hollaway singing this song..any one know of one

  • Very long time I searched for this song almost everywhere not knowing title and singer, knowing only this hit from my former outings to clubs...And it's happened!!! I found it! That was a fantastic time!!! Let's go back to the 90' ;)))

  • Whaaaaaaaaaa OMFG ! Please radios, put that back on track ! 2k1x stills dying !

  • "thumbs up" if you checked this song up after watching "The Cutting Edge"

  • why on earth did they not have the woman who actually sings the song not appear in the video? surely if itss your voice box you should take the full credit!

  • @Lollyissh yet another problem we have with society :'(

  • I like the fact that se lip-syncs to a sampled voice:P Nice tune though :D

  • So this is the third version? The Marsha Walsh Version? This sounds even less like the Loletta Halloway sampled original than the Heather Small "Remix".....

  • @lonelysymphony YES and NO! Yes, this is the third version of the song. Martha Wash NEVER performed Ride On Time.

The first version 1988/89 was the Loleatta Holloway sampled original.

The second version was Heather Small remix from which still featured Loleatta's voice on the chorus.

This third version uses the Heather Small vocal and replaces Loleatta's chorus with Black Box's own studio singers.

  • @NY3UVL714 Thanks for clarifying. The original is epic!

I did think it was a third version, the backing vocals on the intro in particular sound very different, surprised it is more Heather Small vocals. I have to say, it's a shame BlackBoxHouse is using this version. To my ears it sounds like a poor karaoke imitation of the remix, let alone the original.

I will have to relisten to the second version, I didn't pick up on Loleatta's vocals in the chorus.

  • CLSDark talking about Brazil ... So is it music!

  • why did they always have this tranny looking female in all their videos? i know they didn't wanna use walsh but they could have gotten a better looking chick.

  • she wasn't even the real singer it was martha wash but they said she was too fat

  • Superbe..Love the old times!! amazing music..love the rhythm, this is the rhythm of the night.

  • сирена!

  • i cant stop listening to this song it makes me dance

  • Finaly great quality!!

    Thanks for upload that!

  • It always amazes me that back in the day Katrin was claiming to be the lead singer and had the ability to sound like Martha Wash AND Loleatta Halloway or Heather Small, depending on whichever version of "Ride On Time" was in the tape machine for any given performance.

On the other hand, despite claims to the contrary, I believe Katrin is all woman and always has been.

  • @whondsaname You're young. When the Milli Vanilli scndal broke it was quite a sensation. It was pretty much the first time a known artist was exposed as a fraud.

  • nice tits

  • @catgirl6717 Will the Real Singer please stand up?? ;)

  • take that lady gaga !

  • Best song of the 90s? It came out in 89.

  • @tonyttt31 This rerecorded version is from late 1991/early 1992

  • @NY3UVL714 Still....you can hardly call it an 90s song. It's like saying True Faith or Blue Monday were great 90s songs because they were remixed in the 90s.

  • Wow she really has a sublime voice

  • @whondsaname im not dissing it i love this tune

  • The best song of 90's!

  • old tunes never die

  • @TheTWACCE so they used loleatta holloways voice

with a model in the video

and then Heather Small over the top

    wow thats a lotta work

  • I have always loved this song! This was one of the first "CDs" I ever bought. But that's not the Loleatta Holloway version we're hearing. No way. They re-recorded it with a few vocalists after they got sued for using Loleatta's vocals without her permission. That singer you hear is pretty amazingly close to cloning every nuance, but that's NOT Loleatta. I'd wager on it....!

  • HOT song SPICY video... great stuff

  • loleatta holloway voice

    voice

    woaaaaaaaaah

  • @AsboDolche Dies ist die 2te Version von Black Box. Das ist nicht Loleatta Holloway!!! Das ist die von M People... . Die Holloway Version (Also die erste) ist besser!!!

  • @AsboDolche no martha wash's voice

  • total the best in my top 20 all times

  • Одна из лучших вещей в диско)))

  • I love Katrin Kinol

  • ctos recuerdos!!how many memories..hell..i was young enough haa...so sad...clubbing all the time..gonna get up gonna get up estabamos todo el dia despues jaa

  • Que buenisimo! Katrin Quinol era la modelo que hacia playback, estaba enamoradisimo de ella, uf me ponia como una moto, que tiempos.........

  • Este fue uno de mis favoritos en los 90's ''the best''

  • Yes, I heard she does not really sing this.

Just "lip sync" So what! She still does a SEXY job of it!

Listed to the original singer, she was great also.

I do prefere this "fake" version over the original.

  • She...is...SEXY!!!!!!!!! OHH YEAH!

What a voice. A frigging Power House.

Never knew who did this classic dance song till now.

    Just beautiful

  • Impossible to not get a lift from listening to her voice sampled like this! Play it over and over and over.

Great quality. Thank thank thankya baybeh (for posting this video)
