Yes they work against an uke who can not use a knife.

I've been practicing aikido for 10 years. Last year I started Inosanto Kali knife fighting. When we tried a jiu waza with knife with my Aikido trainingmates, they dind't stand a chance against me. And I studying knife fighting for less than a year.

I love Aikido, but Japanese are not a "knife" nation. They are superior with the sword. They are rather good in knife making than using.

I think you should think before you speak. Aikido is a bit theoretical yes, but that is absolutely not fake. I train Judo myself and i know things like that work.

yea i do aikido and its all about self defence and tanto techniques are techniques for when your opponent has a knife or weapon.
