Just dug this band for the 1st time last night at Blueberry Hill in St. Louis. Taking the stage in hospital gowns as a wink to Nikki's broken left arm, Those Darlins tore thru a raw set of some of the most fun, sweaty cowpunk you're ever likely to hear, compensating for a crappy PA system w/infectious enthusiasm. Ass-shakin', bone-brakin' alt-cuntry mayhem. Thank God for Those Darlins.
There's something very fresh and raw about these gals. They don't play that well, they don't sing that well, dance at all, and they are young and cute, but hardly 10's... yet they sell it so well I'm lovin' it.
@Markhirsh - they're a fun band. the music is kind of goofy, which means they can get away with lack of experience. and for girls who have just one album out, they've done well for themselves.
Heard Red Light Love on WMLB here in Atlanta tonight. Went straight to Itunes and bought the album. Can't believe they played here last week and I had no idea.
