@MannyKunV only because the guys at harmony gold were trying to create their own show and add continuity to it.They added certain dialogue to reach to that goal.and I only heard SDF3 being mentioned in one of the novels back then. and I think it was mentioned on shadow chronicles.I think you mean SDF2 but robotech is confusing so....
@MannyKunV trust me. your eyes decive you not.tis only the SDF1.It only lost an arm in the original anime.when that anime came to america harmony gold edited so it looked like it was destroyed.they did that so they can merge it with 2 other anime and call it robotech.If you can watch the last episode of The Super Dimensional Fortress Macross.

3 things were wrong with this. 1. SDF was never destroyed.2 everyone lived and 3.SDF2 NEVER EXISTED it was only mentioned in name and never shown.
