His eyes...I always feel like I'm gonna shit my pants when I see his eyes

  • ... 2 people have been killed by Teatime...

  • It's Teh-ah-TIM-eh, not Teh-ah-TAR-meh!

  • His lips at 0:28-0:30 are just creepy. I don't really know why I find them creepy, maybe they're too thin for his face, maybe he's just pursing them somehow, but they're creepy.

  • teatime is givin me nightmares O_O but i love him still :3

  • UGHHH!!!!!!!! Teatime is so SEXXY!!!!!!!!!

  • I just noticed something yesterday....my cousin James looks like teatime....only with glasses and his voice is not as high.

  • i am so upsest with teatime and how he says his name!!!!!!

  • "It's Teh-Ah-Tim-eh!" Heh

  • He's so creepy! I love it! What a magnificent villain.

  • awesome villan

  • But I think the guy that played him (Marc Warren) is an awesome actor.

  • I don't like Teatime that much. Sorry!

  • If anyone asked you how to kill Santa Claus, most people would go "...wut?"

    He just goes "omg, yay!"

  • Marc Warren is such a fantastic actor! I love how he just says "oh." So stoic....XD

  • I love how it seems to be one of those teacher/student meetings.

Teatime is so freakin' adorable ^^

  • Apparently his head was 7ft away his body. That was all right wasn't it Sir? yu gotta loveee him =]

  • LOL "I have a report here saying you nailed sir George's dog to the ceiling" "I couldn't have it barking while I was working sir" poor dog but I absolutely adore him he's awesomely creepy!!!

  • I adore teh-ah-tim-eh he's so awesomely creepy!

  • I love how they did the super-small pupil thing, like in the book.

  • Well Teatime isnt completely insane he had a brilliant plan

with the tooth fairy. He was gona use all the teeth to make the

children not believe in the hog father

  • 'Insane' and 'clever' often coexist :D

  • "Its amazing how often those two coincide."

    Jack Sparrow.

  • Teatime's more insane. The Joker isn't actually that insane when you look at him. He's quite precise and thinks things through. Teatime's just far-out mad. And boy, do we love him for it...

They would make an AWESOME duo though ^^

  • the difference is joker needs to scream and hold a knife in his hand to scare

Teatime only needs to be sit on a chair and speak very polite to scare

  • @patataton and actors need to act like they are scared, you twat

  • TEH-AH-TI-MEH OR ELSE!

  • man he's awsome u cant not like him his voice is so awsome!

  • I've Seen The Movie, Read The Book But.. Teatime Is Fucking Scary Looking

  • which is more insane: Teatime or The Joker ?

  • joker. but not by alot

  • I'd say it's about 50/50....they're just insane in their own ways..

  • teatime owns the joker.

My friends were amazed by the joker in the Dark Knight film.

Then i show them this movie, they had never seen it and not read the books

they saw this and they were more amazed.

  • *drools*

Teatime...I'm afraid I have quite an obsession, but then again, who wouldn't like an insane psychopathic Assassin with a mind like a broken mirror? I have to say he was better in the book though. Well, not BETTER, but DIFFERENT.

  • Teatime is sooo awesome... deranged, psychotic, homicidal, yes, but also very awesome.

  • ...Hey, what do you mean, BUT?

  • A FINE POINT.

  • It stuns me that Marc Warren isn't more intergrated into mainstream cinema. He's just such an excellent actor, it's like he's born into the roles he plays. I've only ever seen him in British and Canadian films, but I hope America gets the picture soon. He's too much a talent to be wasted.

  • I personally like Death better than Te-ah-tim-eh, but Death isn't an antagonist.

  • gods he gives me the willies. XD

  • About to finish Hogfather for the second time in my life (this time in original language) and Teatime is definitely my fave character (again)! I think Marc does a great job, although I was a little suspicious first...

  • screw you salvak00 you have no common sense he is a freakin great actor

  • Oy! Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

Then again, by that logic, you're entitled to your opinion of their opinion...

Okay, you're right, salvak has no common sense.

  • Just reading Hogfather. It's so cool that I can look this stuff up while reading the book XD

I keep imagining Teatime as older than he is. I can't imagine why. But he's such a great character.

  • He is the best villian EVER! I would go as him for Hallowe'en but I don't think anybody would know who he is.

  • Ah, but what matters is WHO knows who he is. They're out there.

  • He definitely is. Creeped me out extremely.

  • @DisworldGirl Maybe you should do it anyway, because if people ask and you tell them, you would be helping spread the awesomeness of who he is! And they'd watch the movie ^^

  • oh i love him!!he's so cool!

  • I LOVE HIM! x3

Great movie, don´t ya think? aaaaw

Is the hogfather the only book where he appears?

I haven´t read all books yet...

  • I'm afraid so. Pratchett has almost no recurring villains, but of these, Jonathan is easily the creepiest. Hooray for David Warner in this clip!

  • He definitely needs more books though.

  • I guess, in theory, there could be a prequel dealing primarily with Teatime, but that would severely run the risk of "de-villaining" him. And I certainly hope we call all agree that Jonathan Teatime would not work as a good guy.

  • YES.

Well, maybe not dealing primarily with him, but just a little bit of text on his earlier life. There could at least be a cameo in one, like 'A young trainee Assassin smiled brightly at him. And kept on smiling.'

Or some sort of explanation for the eye. I don't believe in the hypothesis that he gouged it out himself. I just don't see him doing something as stupid as that.

  • No? But blindness is often the price for wisdom in stories, and Mr. Teatime might've thought that having a magic glass eye was worth it.

  • True, but I doubt he'd GOUGE it out if so. He'd probably have some strange way of getting it out cleanly. Hey, come to think of it, he probably still has it in a jar in his dorm. And why not both? Plus it states in the book it was a freak accident.

He may be a follower of Blind Io. Heh.

It is not proven that it is a magic glass eye, which WOULD be an asset to a job like his, and there is no explanation as to why his original pupils are so small.

  • True, but I think you'd have to un-villain him to one degree or another to cast him as a central protagonist. Patrick Bateman and Dexter Morgan aren't entirely reprehensible figures, after all. If Teatime's part of the Assassin's Guild, you do get an easy out for his psychopathic behaviour in the sense that it'd be easy to have it directed at bad people, but you wouldn't be making him a puppy-hugging do-gooder.

  • That's why I don't think such a book should be written. If he became a protagonist, he'd become an antihero, and Teatime must always be kept as the nightmarish villain that he is. Even to show any good in him would undermine that. And then we'd just end up with Hannibal Rising.

  • @manwithoutabody

I <3 Hannibal as an Anti-hero, though. I always thought there was a sympathetic side to him. He only kills people who are bad people, with the exception of when he has to kill for his own freedom. I think for Hannibal, it only makes him more compelling that you find yourself rooting for him half the time.

Teatime, on the other hand, is compelling because he's an insatiable killer who simply can not comprehend right and wrong, or concepts like compassion. Innocently evil.

  • oh my gwash i fink sum of tha laydiess myt agree wif meh when i say.... MARC WARREN iS EXTREMLY SEXiE :D LOL it has to0- beh sed and michelle dockery tha lucky fing got to beh held close by him ihn the flipin film !!!
