The resulting scale is now 8 notes and therefore [since most jazz is 4/4] "synchs up" rhythmically [melodically, and harmonically - as Harris demonstrates elsewhere - as well].
Actually, all major scales, as well as minor ['minor6th 'and 'dorian' especially] as well as mixolydian [dominant 7th] should be played with these "chromatic corrections'...
