Man that Cowen is going to be a big kid. He pretty much man handled Phaneuf, no big punches but I fighting will not be his role. He is pretty much Chara at 20, that is a good thing.
About the hit, I think the refs missed called but hey its pre season. There is likely a lot of pressure on Phaneuf to star laying the big hits like he used to so he laid out a rookie in his first game.

If Toronto had Seguin, they would have a franchise player. Phil kessel is one dimensional, and even if he were an elite sniper, would you rather Jonathan Toews or Patrick Kane? Toews will lead your team to the Stanley Cup. Seguin could've led your team to Stanley Cup in the future. Toronto won't be getting near a Cup final for a long long time.
