I didn't get as good an image as what I would have liked. There was more reflection than I had anticipated. However, the hidden edge pulled out quite nicely. It's just with the smaller model, it's not as prominent. It's probably evident, I haven't been doing origami very long, but I like to start a model large and scale down - when it makes sense. I'm doing the dragon in your book and for that, I want to scale up. Thanks for your input!
Very nice folding of the top. I can't tell for sure, but from 1:00 it looks like you might not have pulled out the hidden edge. Pulling out the edge makes it a little sturdier, You might also try 10 inch paper or foil; that gave me the longest spin.

See Jeremy Shafer's YouTube video. I used foil paper from origami paper from a craft store. I think it works best for this type of spinning top.
