btw, what's your opinion about bee singing rock like You Oughta Know ?? Becacuse my friend said that beyonce can't sing rock effectively and her singing style is not rock .
It's not the BEST fit for her voice/tone but her musicianship works it though. I feel that since a lot of people see her as glamourous, it's hard for some to picture her doing an Alanis Morrisette song. But Bey can do alternative pretty well for an entertainer whose background is Contemporary R&B.
LOL, I uploaded this performance in my other channel and I didn't even know it was taken down. Youtube could have warned me, at least; I don't walk around watching my own videos here xD Anyway, one of my favorite moments of the DVD. I don't listen to any of Beyoncé's studio recordings; to me, she only shines live, and this kinda proves it again.
This is just ridiculous, or voice has never sounded this tired and yet she still manages to sing with such incredible control. Many artists that are concidered good or even great singers aren`t able to sing like her. She really is underestimated, people only see the dance routines and make up. Only the glamour of it all but not the talent behind it. I mean half of her grammy wins are cause of her vocals.. I think,. xD
@Trammelbach yep! but I'll be true, she needs to believe more in her voice. I can't stand how for every great vocal song she releases, she must put out one where she dances half naked in a leotard and promotes it everywhere with the same dance routine and backing track (see Single Ladies). I can't believe so few of her most successful songs display her vocals at best.
@workitout80. I wish she would focus less on her seducing side. And when I saw the promo for her I am Sasha fierce album I thought she finally will bring more depth to it all.It started out well with IF I were a boy (I love her vibrato on boy and her) but then things got worse, I mean you can`t release videos like halo etc. and rubish like Video Phone. It just doesn`t work. Her best vocals though are on the BDay album. God I love Green Light and of course resentment hope shell win the grammy
@Trammelbach Resentment is just heavenly. And I couldn't even believe on how she sang in this performance, it was just IDENTICAL to the studio version. Unbelievable. What impresses me most is her breath, she sings with all her voice and still holds impressive tones! I like to listen to Ella Fritzgerald, and Bey said the true when talks about her influences, like Ella. Go Beyonce!

Thanks for uploading this back. I was wondering why all the video uploads of this performance was snatched off youtube. Epic performance, Beyonce's vocals here are just heavenly. Crispy clear powerful vocals(even in a hoarse state), so moan of her peers could NEVER deliver this kinda stellar vocal performance in that state
@unbreakablekat I think it has got to do with the Grammy submissions, or maybe with the fact she's singing Sweet Love. But more with the Grammys, since they took it down ten/eleven months after the dvd release, and just coinciding with the Grammy submissions.
This is my all-time favourite Beyonce performance (even if she's not in full condition) ^^....thank goodness I dled the mp3 of this before it got taken off youtube ^^.
The connectivity of her range is just...wow. Going from head voice to a belted resonant F5. Also the musicality of this performance is in abundance...pitch perfect along with dynamics and rhythm on point. I love when her and that sax are repeating each other and improvising...shows her great ear.
i really think beyonce could be tied with aretha franklin for most grammy wins this year aretha has 18 i think but beyonce needs 2 more and shes most certainly gonna win she won something every year shes been nominated even with stevie wonder and her and lady gaga is certainly gonna win best colabo becasue it was and they're grammy favorites
@DOMINIW5 the only thing I know is NONE of the other submissions for these year's Contemporary Rnb Vocal Performance is on the same level of this performance. I think Beyoncé's fan learned how objective and severe I can be even towards Bee. But this time I have absolutely no doubt, she deserves this award like no other artist. I'm gonna whip their asses if they don't give it to her LOL.
Beyonce could sing the abc's and it will give me chills her vocals and riffs and runs always put me in vocal heaven! If she does not get a grammy for this Ima go st8 Kanye because her arrangements are the best! nobodys are better even when Beyonce is hoarse she sounds amazing its like omg is this women real! her raspy growls sends chills up my body & her scatty runs are incredible! Beyonce is the best and I am honored to be in this generation & witness the unbelievable talent that is BEYONCE!
Voice is beautiful as ever!

@Trammelbach I agree on every single word, though there are a few great vocal tracks also on IASF.
