@Rich0078 thank you - I have the boost setting on full, with the gain somewhere between 3 and 5 oclock - treble and bass at 2pm and midrange at 4 or 5pm - lots of reverb lol.
Really interested in this amp. 2 questions: is 36W enough for unmic'd pub/ small clubs gigs with a full band? And 2 x 10 or 1 x12? I prefer 2 speakers, but will 2 x 10's lose some bass response? Cheers.

@philh27 You still get plenty of bass response from the 2x10's no problem. In regards to using live with a band - I don't know. I use it live with a heavy rock band, but I always mic it up. Depends on the band I guess.
I thought this was a good demo. Many thanks Vintageshred1. I thought you showed some good diversty of styles that most people, who do demos, can't or don't do. The video shows a broad array of styles and tones from clean to rectifier tones.
Cool amp, too. It does more than I originally thought it would.
If you watch the full video, I spend less than 30 secs "shredding" - the rest of the time I give full run through of everything from a clean Shadows style, to blues, rock etc. I fail to see why it upsets you so much. Feel free to post your own review.
I have this amp with the 1 x 12" and use it with a PodXT -- it is unbelievable versatile combo. Every guitar sounds great thru it... tele, strat, LP, firebird, etc. The Kustom amp is great - but when you add the Pod, you can dial any amp tone and they all sound so warm with just the right amount of high end (not too much like the Line6 and Peaveys IMHO). Highly recommend this combo..
Have you been trying the kustom coupe 112 ? Does the amps sounds differently with one or two speakers ? Is the 36 powerful enough to play live ? Thanks
Yes, he 1x12 has more of a midrange honk. In terms of power it depends on the gig of course but I would recommend micing it up for bigger venues. Onstage its fine.
I have the Kustom Defender but I want to get this awesome amp.If you grew up in the 60's and 70's like me you can remember that cool tuck and roll.Cool retro look and awesome clean and distorted tones!!!
Hello VinatgeShred71,Could you do a reviews/demo on the Kustom Sienna 35 watt amp? that would help me alot with my desision for an acoustic amp, please help, thanks!
i bought the kustom sienna, its great, but guess what, my kustom amp, and my ibanez art-100 les pual have been acting up lately, so im might use the 2 warrenties and trade in my kustom defender for a coupe, and my art-100 for another art-100, but diff color... it sucks though, the Kustom defender is such a nice tube amp... wuts cool tho a/b the coupe is the that you can get the leather in diff colors, like green,red,blue,gold,silver...
Personally, I prefer the 2x10 - there is a bigger bass response and of course it moves a bit more air. However, some people like the midrange of a 12 inch speaker. Both models have the facility to link out to another speaker with the internal speaker on or off.
Wow nice lead tone! i have it but i have a buzzing distortion sounds like bees, what are your settings?

Vintage Shred71, does your Coupe get really warm, and hot? I hard some people say it does, expessialy on the lead channel...is that true??
IanKusekSoloArtist 2 years ago
Yes it can get quite warm, but not abnormally (for a valve amp) so.

where is the bright switch on this amp?? please help!!
IanKusekSoloArtist 2 years ago
Hi - it's a push pull knob on each channels volume control.
vintageshred71 2 years ago
what i dont get, is the name Push/pull.. do you pull the volume button "up" so it sticks out a tad, or what, sorry, im sooo confused!!
IanKusekSoloArtist 2 years ago
Yes - pull out the knob for bright "on", push it in for "off"

This is a great amp.
I play mine through a 4x12 cab sometimes, as it has a 4-8-16ohm switch with a jack to plug into.
But the 12" speaker sounds better and better as time goes on. I've heard some people replace it, but it just needs some time to break it in.
Tons of features!
Very versatile amp. And you can change the power tubes without having to re-bias them, as it's got a self biasing circuit.
Different brand tubes mess up the effects loop a little though? I loop a Digitech RP350 through it.

great demo. would you recommend this amp for playing jazz.
philbio66 3 years ago
It's a very versatile amp, and would be ideal for most styles of music, including Jazz - I'm just not much of a jazz player to my regret.
vintageshred71 3 years ago
thanks for replying and for the insight.
philbio66 3 years ago
That is flat out amazing playing and sound. Wow!
Do you recommend the 2x10 or 1x12 Coupe? Are there significant sound differences or advantages?
