@Ferretocious here's another fact- "The eyes are large. almond-shaped and slanting slightly toward the ears. The color of the eyes is light green." Look at the cat, Sparta the mean kitty, and then come over here and tell me he's not an Egyptian Mau.

Im so happy i found a beautiful stray Gray Egyptain Mau kitten, he is so sweet and he follows me around and sleeps on my stomach, chest, neck, ect. while im sleeping ;)
@TheJavaKitten Um, no, he most definitely ISN'T. Yours has a Brown Mackerel Classic Tabby coat - NO such thing in a Mau. He also doesn't have the Gooseberry Green eyes that all Maus have. So what makes you think for a second he is one? He ISN'T!
@Ferretocious Im going to post a few pictures of him in a video, the last video was filmed off my iphone making everything look dark so im going to take some full lighted photos to show you his is not brown and he has SPOTS and watch /watch?v=VHvmHzokB24&feature=related and you will see those are definitly Maus and they don't all have green eyes some of them have orange and blue!!

My grandma in Chicago found a stray Mau, when it was a kitten. She took it in. My grandpa died, so she gave the Mau to us. This video played, and I swear to you, it sounds EXACTLY like my Mau. I thought it was her for a second.

I just got 2 Mau's GIVEN TO ME from Kijiji. I'm so lucky! They both have the pedigree certificates and the female has actually won Canadian competitions at cat shows. They are both 4 now. These are our first family pets and after doing a ton of research on them I can't imagine a better breed of cat for our family! I love These Mau's personalities.
Heehee, he sounds *exactly* like my girl mau - I was trying to explain all the noises they make and wanted to share it with a friend, I've never met a cat that has the mau's extended vocabularly. I'm glad mine isn't the only talker, I figured she got that way from hanging out with Javanese boys all her life. :P
@ButterflyVonTejas I've had two cats one male one female and I don't know if it's true with these cats but i noticed my male has a much deeper meow than the female (might be the difference between breeds too tho the male is a a mixed long hair and the female a tabby)

i have 2 egyptian 9 year old mau boys, (brothers). They get very animated when they hear this video. They head towards the computer, not understanding why they can't find anything. Then one of them grabs the other one by his fur on the side of his neck and tries to mate with him - they are both castrated but their instinct seems to tell them to have a go! So i wonder if your cat in this video is calling for a mate?
He actually was asking me to open the soor behind him. If you watch he calls then looks behind him, then calls and looks behind him again. As to say Mom-Open the door- The door. I immagine he had to use his litter box or eat as both are in the other room.
I'm excited to hear your boys listen to my Mau. My friend in another counrty from me lets her female listen and she also gets excited.
My mau just went crazy hearing this video. She even hissed at one point. I live in Egypt and my cat is Egyptian, but I guess they still speak the same language! LOL.

They are sub-catagorized as "Show Quality" "Breeder Quality" and "Pet Quality"
Also big considerations are made based on their markings.
But, a basic overall quote for a purebread/registered Mau would be Between $400 and $600.

i have 2 egyptian 9 year old mau boys, (brothers). They get very animated when they hear this video. They head towards the computer, not understanding why they can't find anything. Then one of them grabs the other one by his fur on the side of his neck and tries to mate with him - they are both castrated but their instinct seems to tell them to have a go! So i wonder if your cat in this video is calling for a mate?

He actually was asking me to open the soor behind him. If you watch he calls then looks behind him, then calls and looks behind him again. As to say Mom-Open the door- The door. I immagine he had to use his litter box or eat as both are in the other room.
I'm excited to hear your boys listen to my Mau. My friend in another counrty from me lets her female listen and she also gets excited.

My mau just went crazy hearing this video. She even hissed at one point. I live in Egypt and my cat is Egyptian, but I guess they still speak the same language! LOL.
