  • this was my first burn, when i returned to the default world, it took me almost three months to put my head back together, i spent the time lost i memories of a 10 day stay in a place that words can never describe, photos only reflect a moment of, and videos only invoke memories of. to never have danced in dust leaves a gap of understanding, there is a moment when words are no longer needed for understanding and this community embodies that level of understanding and acceptance. see you at home

  • beautiful~ one big desire...to participate one day!!! The video is very cool.

    (Tracey)

    :~})

  • omg!!! is this like a holy experience from god? i really feel like going there!!! looks super awesome!!! i'm wondering if this is a christian camp or whatever? plz respond to my comment :)

  • Few comments talk about ticket prices and how much money Larry Harvey is making. Tickets started at $210 this year and are now at $280. Top will be $300 until BLM cap of 60,000 is hit. BLM gets most of the money, but much goes to infrastructure (porta-potties, road watering, medical tents, mandated (and extensive) police presence, construction of The Man and grants for other art. My 5th burn coming soon. Incredible experience. Only regret from first-timers is that they didn't go sooner.

  • What is the first song on this video? I wanna download it and listening to it on my way to burning man this year!!!

  • The first song is "Clocks" by Coldplay.

I leave in about 99 days for Burning Man 2009. See you on the playa.

  • Thank you! See you there!

  • Sorry that comment was to the guy who says that Black Rock City is not an economy at the beginning of the thread. Your show was awesome and I love Burning Man too!!! I guess I am new at you tube, but not to the feeling I get just looking at your pictures. All you can think about is what you will see and do next year! Love you all and see you in 2008.

  • just out of curiosity... are then any recorded deaths at burnimg man? ps pleae [reply]

  • )0( way to burrrrrrrn it up baby )o(

  • Thank you for sharing these great moments!

Some people say 'Memorize the moment in your mind, not by taking some pictures, ' or something like that, it is partially true, but it is also nice to take pics and share those memories. Thanks again.

  • instead of consuming things (meals, canned entertainment) u create and give. and there's TONS of entertainment! besides great parties, i saw an incredibly impressive circus, fire dancing, wow artwork.

went for the first time this yr. wouldn't call it transformative, but it was a great break from everyday life. everyone's friendly + giving, the extreme environment means only ppl who really care attend, you get to spend a wk w/o commerce or cars. def not for everyone, but def not a scam.

  • haha you've obviously never been...burning man is often used as an argument for libertarians and survivalists.

  • The whole thing is a scam set up by this guy harvey. They charge up to $400 for a single ticket x 40,000 people. He makes around or in excess of 10,000,000 for this shit! Imagine what this crook clears? I refuse to go on general principle. They don't even serve any meals or have entertainment for that price. Your entertainment is other people who got ripped off too! It's a big scam and a total waste ofyour money.

  • au contraire. the bureau of land mgt gets the lion's share of the proceeds. which makes sense, considering the use of tons of public land.

  • Yeah, I assume he makes huge profit for sure. I agree the entrance fee went too pricy. But at the same time, I was amazed how this event is well developped and organized with quite a lot of crews and staffs with security and support. Cheaper tix will cause over population, may lead out of control. I paid $250 on 2006, but $400 made me think, not going this time.. hope they don't charge $600 on 2008 to recover Rebuilding-Man-Fee!!

  • Hey it looks so cool? Is ut kind of party with music that everybody dance on desert or is it just a art show? any bar out there?

  • exactly what I was just thinking..

  • burning SCAM is a waste of fucking money!!!!

  • great vid! anybody know about how many people attend burning man?

  • wow! how beautiful! i saw a documentary on Burning Man a year or two ago, but i like your slide video better. very nice job!

  • I heard the theme this year was 'Green". What a bunch of hypocrites. I wonder what kind of 'carbon footprint' this event has? With all of the burning of shit and stuff. ya know? Not to mention all of the 'art' cars burning gas...

  • the carbon footprint is by far less than what an equivalent sized city is anywhere else in the world. obviously you havent been- if you had, you'd not easily forget the thousands and thousands of bicycles and solar powered vehicles there, let alone all the pedestrians. Bicycling and walking is NOT the norm in regular cities in USA- where the carbon footprints really are sizeable.

  • Yeah but it is not a real city. People have to DRIVE from all over the country just to get there. And then they BURN stuff made out of WOOD which are TREES that were cut down somewhere, making it doubly bad for the environment in terms of CO2 emissions. It is the ultimate festival of conspicuous consumption. Talk about hypocrisy.

  • BURNING MAN 2007 IS HERE 2NIGHT AT 12AM WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOU ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL THERE.....LoOK FOR A GUY DRESSED AS A A DOG SKIN ONLY AT NIGHT THOUGH....

  • Can somebody tell me of german what is the buring man festival?

  • haven't been to one ,but it's an event held once a year where artist and people get to fully express themselves and party hard

  • i wanna go back. BM is not for everyone, but it is for me. all i gotta do is plan on it and it will take place. was there in 2004 and will be there in 2008. great video!

  • FANTASTIC!!

  • beautiful !!

  • I love burning man. This will be my third year, and Im 11. It will be my sisters 6th, I think. Hope and Fear was awesome! Remember the belgian waffel? That burned soooo hot.

  • Burning man looks so amazing I really want to see it in person.

  • Nice shots, views better if you turn down (off) the top 40 soundtrack.

  • PHENOMENAL images. I need to be here!!!

  • I've enjoyed hearing about it from friends who have gone, some who've worked there, read a book and saw a good DVD, thought more about going but didn't really feel the beauty until I saw this.

  • Burning man is a music festival right??

  • burning man is a festival of life, art, music, and individuality. its radical self reliance in the middle of the blackrock desert for one week of the year. your money does you no good (except for ice or coffee) as its a bartering/gift based economy.

    nobody judges you for anything.

  • Um it is not an 'economy'. Please don't use that word. Burning Man does not produce the means for its own existence. It is rather an outgrowth and expenditure of the excess resources which are so plentiful as a result of our caitalist economy that we are lucky to be a part of.

  • Who are you? bored and lonely I'm sure. Have you been to the burn? The ECONOMY of Black Rock City is oporating in a deficit due to the import of nearly everything, but it is an economy. Black Rock City produces memories, happiness and joy for all those that attend. We work our ass off all year to take our one week break from our near military state government run country! Step out of your box and enjoy yourself for once! WE ALWAYS WILL!!!!

  • i cant wait for the green man...

  • what is burning man?

  • great video!!!

  • awesomeness!!

  • Great video!! Amazing images. Wow...
