Excellent. The track has a really polished look and the hidden controller is such a great idea. On the nit front, does one end of the tunnel appear a little rougher than the other or is it just the angle of the video? That's minor though- this is a truly superb layout.
Yep - haven't figured out how to clean up that entrance yet - just painted it white for now. I really enjoyed crafting the door to pivot and hinge down like that. I could always put a little swivel lock on the top too to keep the little guy out till he is old enough or keep his train safe from reckless friends when he is older:)
I'd lean toward painting the interior of the tunnel dark grey or flat black, then add some rectangular trim (matching that already in room) around the outside, overhanging and essentially hiding the circular cut. I bet no one would ever notice if the shape of the tunnel didn't match that of the trim. Plus, if that plan doesn't work, it's no big deal to undo it and try something else. I agree with your choice not to include any decoration or scenery- the simple plan you chose looks very classy.
Thanks:) We thought about scenery - could even do something cool like paint up grandma's house and iconic Atlanta buildings. Ended up deciding to keep it simple for now though. Maybe when the little guy grows up if he is really into trains we can add a background then.
I like the "fold out" controller idea.

Is it possible to do the same in HO scale?

@markbuell99 I am sure you could do HO too but the corner boards would have to be larger to support a bigger diameter curve.
