  • Money 500 may fetch these children a temporary benefits if u help there parents to earn that money and let these children also know to earn is the thing to do for this these people's pockets need not be cut but there are many people who are ready to donate and govt has to give education not sell it

  • buy an underwear??

  • 26 idiots need a life..

  • God has given and God has taken... everyone in this world has a share whether of money, health or luck... im nt rich, but im gonna stick to my share, and live my life normally!

  • shut up and go blow up a building

  • this is a stupid ad. the fact that those who can spend lavishly and stupidly do spend it that way keeps the money flowing in the economy so that those who're not that fortunate can still earn a bit and pay their school fees.

    go learn some macro economics

  • @wakniss

You need to shut the fuck up and study Macroeconomics yourself.

  • if some body really wanna do some thing just click

our one help a child to get i time food

  • Very realistic and expectable

  • Rather than just donating money to poor just for few times, its always better to teach them how to earn money [in a legal way]...

Any kind of legal money earning process will teach you lot about life...

  • Think of earning and not of saving.

Think of creating employemnt sometime and not of donating forever-open new factories or services, firms, along with a desire to spend on improving standards of living, so that the poor child you pay for today, does not have to beg for his own child again for possibly UNFRUITFUL schooling.

  • this is how u look abt this video but any money goes to any body it helps to bulid our economy so more than emotional, i will be more practical.

  • @radheymumbai _ no its the other way around, any money goes to one who is in a desperate need of it.. then it fulfills the value of it. but, if the money stagnates at one place, its no longer worth to be...

  • school ka saman karidunga...VS movies movies

  • SuperLike.. Absolutely amazing video! - VERY thought-provoking..

  • Some of the student sell themselves for pocket money. Today i saw a student selling shocks in front of supermarket just for money as there poor parents could't help her for paying fees. i have purchased two pare without any bargain indirectly helping her. Help poor but for a price? If u give donate they will spend

  • A common reply to most who are a bit concerned about the Rs 500 breaking up into pieces while moving down the chain. My example of the whole of Rs 500 moving down is symbolic of that collective sum of broken down Rs 500 going down the chain, if you add the spendings of the barber on cosmetics, dresses, etc, it should be 500 (if he spends them all), which provides employment to different sectors. Moreover, there are many Indian and Foreign cosmetics having a factories in India.

  • Last one was Awesome!. now-a-days you will not get anything for 500 rs :)

  • Respond to this video...

  • Good goin mate, well done, exceptional work!!!!

  • TOUCHING

different colours of life with different sets of eyes.

  • @raghavghaiee not ever one would spend 500 buks on hair cut u fag....

try and understand wats the ad for u ass... ur supose to be educated....

wat if some one spends that 500 buks bying diffrent things worth 50 buks...

will anyone get rich..... dum head think... n try understand the ad.....

  • @chango2720 Oh really? My mom's friend recently had a hair "trim" for about 2500 bucks... :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @chango2720 Hi, seems like you got that language from the west. Sounds great. Ok, why dont you guys read up trickle down effect in Economics(class11), we can have a better discussion then? See folk, all I am afariad about is, that if somehow, this video influences people to underspend, and save too much money in lockers, and think too much before spending at all, then our economy shall be doomed. Employment, and not charity can erradicate poverty. Else, beggers will remain beggers.

  • The video is nice. But it is economically refutable - Expenditure on booze pushes up demand for alcoholic drinks, which generates employment in that sector, and so on and so forth. Ofcourse, if you think capitalism is evil and companies should not make profits, then that booze factory wouldn't exist in the first place, so no jobs in that sector. This analogy could be applied to the whole economy.

  • I think the whole point is making our socialist tax system more uniform and applied.

Stopping spending will eventually harm the economy

  • The value for 500 must be realized before spending it..cost of services for the same service is different and a common human physc is to earn reputation by realizing the expensive services.

A shave can cost from 15-500 Rs..movie ticket from 100-1.5k..good food from 200-2k..its just a matter of being spendthrift being cultivated by marketers.

yaar free mein 5 Rs nehin milte par aap 500 Rs free mein kharch karne ko ready ho.

My msg " Try to cultivate saving and value spending "

  • a printed paper which defined as currency make me rich and poor. it is says that life is simple when realize apple and blackberry are just fruits!

  • watch!

  • Its wonderful .... thought provoking ! great work friends .... appreciate ur creativity and the human touch. keep going with the same spirit !!!

  • Perspective. That's what it comes down to in the end. Is there a subtitled version of this video?

  • if i would have been gvn a 500 bugs for free....i would have donated it further

  • The point of the video Don't spend money on any costly stuff because there are poor people around us who can't afford. That's ridiculous!. I'm from a lower middle class family myself but I'm not going to tell the rich people don't spend RS 500 on haircut. Of course If I had the money I would have done the same(I'm a guy, so I probably won't) but may be for something else.

  • i never think so much importance of 500 rs note b4 this

  • A lot of good discussions going around here.I will suggest u to watch the documentary named ZEITGEIST ADDENDUM....from here u can know how we can remove the poverty from our world ,our country.if ne one from calcutta is interested after watching it.u can contact me-9883688553.

  • I will make a short film like you. Cheers! very nice one Brother

  • superb, good video

  • i wl try to give someone school fees

  • i wl try to give someone school fees

  • i wl try to give someone school fees

  • i wl try to give someone school fees

  • i wl try to give someone school fees

  • LMAO....branded underwear. price of some1's branded underwear = price of som1 else's school fees.

  • i like this vedio

  • I don't understand the point of this video. Think before you spend the money? And then do what? This video does not give any concrete message, or a plan of action. E.g. it should say, "Sponsor a child's education". Right now, the only thing it says is, if you are poor, you buy food. If you have food, you buy movie tickets. If you have movie tickets, you do something else with the money. That's a common sense thing. Why conclude that think before you spend??

  • super

  • LOL! The foreigner is thinking 500 bucks in his currency. Not in rupees I guess.. He wanna surprise his friends..

  • Ok.. I don't get the main point ..

I think every damm human being thinks before they spend.

Now let's come back to poverty.. Due to think less spending and more saving will prosper our economy , and make India less poor ?

Damm.. even the workers working in alcohol industry gets thier salary by the profit of selling alcohols..

I don't have poblem admiring this video.. but only with some different context .. where poor get the right privilage to grow.

    This is an emotional crap!

  • Ok.. I don't get the main point ..

  • well.. what does the director want us to do know..

Stop spending.. Break the economy ??

There should be mix of spending and saving.. so that India can have more business which in turn can provide more jobs to all level of economy.

This video is an emotional crap .. playing with the minds of innocent Indians

  • the girl said.."any julia roberts movie"....thinks she is ultracool.!! hmmm...

  • ya best way would be 2spend for a poor childs education

  • Please try to get the most beautiful aspect of the comment that I made. The NATIONAL INCOME of India increases by K*500, K>1, if you spend, if you simply donate, then K=1. Through a huge chain of spendings, each person in the chain becomes richer by 500. Donating is fine, spending is finer, BUT KEEPING LOADS OF MONEY WITH YOURSELF AND NOT SPENDING/DONATING IS VERY BAD FOR A COUNTRY, SO KEEP MINIMUM/INSURANCE(medical/life) MONEY with yourself, and BE FREE TO SPEND THE REST.Please spread it.

  • well said karthik

  • dude! why would you 'freak' out at all the joints.. dude, that's 'chill' out man... freaky piece of sh*te

  • lol...u spelt shit wrong :P...when ur trolling better get ur grammar right...

  • I agree with Raghavghaiee, the best solution would be to donate that money or simply pay for someone else's fees

  • You spend on a hair cut, it will fetch the barber some money. Barber becomes richer by 500, and you are already richer by a hair cut of 500. Now the barber buys a dress for himself. The dress seller becomes richer by 500 and also the barber is richer by 500 worth dress. Now the dress seller gives more orders to some labour and factories dont shut down because of lack of work, so the labourer gets the salary on time, hence he can pay the fees of his own child on time.

    Student, IISc, Bangalore.

  • yeah..but it could be the other way around too..U take ur haircut in an expensive beauty parlour and pay the barber, money..the larger fraction of the money, u have paid goes to the owner of the parlour..who is already a rich guy..this guys spends this money in an expensive restuarant which belongs to a corrupted politician..and this guy does not show this money in his assets and turns this 'black'..so we r not sure of what route our money takes!!

    No student of IIsc..

  • @stingingbee786 Hi, you made a valid point, but out of 100 resturaunts, at least 90% shall be of good guys, (becuase if there are too many bad guys, then they are not bad enough :) ). Moreover, even the "bad" politicians go to dress sellers, eat food, watch movies; they employ car drivers, servants, guards, no matter how "bad" politicians are. The whole point to be made is, the video should not motivate us to underspend. else it will break the Indian economy very badly, donate, spend, not think.

  • @raghavghaiee you made a good point bout rotation of money, but,the 500 bucks wont go as a whole to a poor man it will be broken into 500 pieces and get unevenly distributed, that way nobody goes to school ,nobody becomes rich.

  • Comment removed

  • @rajatvyas1 What if millions of city dwellers go for spending top of chain? Then wont these small incomes accumulate to a good income in a day or two? A barber, or a dress seller, or any vendor doesnt have just one customer. But, if we think of underspending then most of the vendors shall have one or none a day, leading to a vicious circle of ECONOMIC DEPRESSION. (million times worse than recession).

  • @raghavghaiee very nice

  • @raghavghaiee

    cycle of life eh!!!

  • @raghavghaiee Totally agreed! You have made a very valid & practical point. Although what the video is also showing is the difference in perception that people have towards what most of us would consider a meager sum; moreover for the lower section in the society the difference between getting Rs 500 today VS getting it tomorrow can be immense :)

  • @raghavghaiee so basically you say that the 500 bucks the kid spends on the books would go to dogs?

Moreover, the barber doesn't get richer my 500.... he would spend 300-400 of the 500 on imported cosmetics, electricity, marketing, publicity, etc... nd only d 100 bucks would run down to d dress seller...

Now the similar thing goes on with the dress seller.. nd finally the labourer gets only 5 bucks.

Y d heck do u think is thr still poverty despite all d spending v do?

    We need to donate more!!

  • @jyotiswaroopr123321 Hi, things in India have improved overtime. If we dint spend, then even you and me may have been around poverty line today. Look around you, how many auto wallas have their dinner for people watching a night show? BTW, your math in your comment is slightly misused, there is not much place to argue here, but certainly, it makes a valid hidden point, which is, that if you spend on an Indian product (of similar quality though), then all of the income chain remains in India.

  • @raghavghaiee That is not the point here.. Instead of going to some movie what if we give the money directly to the poor? Or better yet, invest in something good?

  • @prathik728 Kindly read my recent comment on youtube to chango. A part of your doubts shall be answered hopefully.

  • @raghavghaiee since most of the youtube users are of the upper strata of the society meaning people who can spend 500bucks on a haircut, your comment naturally gets a 'vote up' and it does also sound logical to the stupid rich brats who wanna justify their spending. I am not saying they are wrong. Everyone's got to find their happiness through some way. That is the whole purpose of living isn't it. What I am saying is that your justification is wrong. (contd)

  • @raghavghaiee (contd) The value of that note is 500. That does not change in both the hair cut case or the paying fees case. But let us just check both of the case's worth in terms of human satisfaction and future gain. What is the worth of a hair cut? What is the worth of a students school fees? Which would you value more? Is it justified that both are of same value?

    Student, Unknown college, India.

  • @bassamkadhiyar13 I largely agree to your post, as I am also a kind spiritually inclined, like you prehaps, but today, a poor nation like ours needs brute force practicality, and sustained economic growth Moreover, if not 100% moral value system, there exists a convinient machinary of income.Spend. Charity is good, specially for challenged, and poor students, but lets not create more normal beggers, lets think of creating employment, like opening more and more product based Indian companies.

  • @raghavghaiee so true

  • Comment removed

  • @raghavghaiee ... amazed with the explaination about the vicious cycle of money running around... by the way, do u spend 500rs for an haircut... and this add is not about "not spending the money" and its all about spending it in a constructive way..

    A question to u...

Whom u would like to spend ur money ?

A Poor man who sells drugs for his survival...

or a poor cobler who is fighting for his daily bread...

  • @novojai The video has a tag at the last seconds ..

"think before you spend". I had requested the creator recently to make possible changes to the vid, tags and he could just add "spend wisely" (it was not there before). My original attack was on "think before you spend". Because we souldnt think too much before we spend. Moreover, I guess, we are wise enough not to spend on poisson/drugs or any wasteful things by default. No rocket science reuqired for such a simple thing.

  • @novojai "vicious" is generally used with a negative feel. I used "Haircut" to site a numeric example, you can customize the example to your needs. Moreover, dont worry too much about donations and charity, there are plenty NGOs and trusts working on this specially for handicaps, and I am also a part of a trust for helping poor village school children. BUT, if we only donate, and dont create EMPLOYMENT , then our country is doomed, creating more poverty and more donations-THE vicious cycle!

  • for some its nothing but for some others .. it will survive them a week atleast!!!

  • @duttasaby

    Irony? ....yes

    but disheartening !!

  • perfect example of irony

the price of one man's branded underwear is the price of a child's quarterly school fees

  • u said 1 buck and that's 40 rupees

    so i.e 20000 rs

and in btw vdo someone said "500 rs"

    but good video

  • Yeah! Great job.

  • very nice good Work. keep it up

  • this video opened my eyes... i need a control on it

  • js loved it! keep it guyz...spred da awerness!

  • Helping VDO.

  • Moreover, it's important where you spend. Though spending money helps rotation, spending it on more expensive things in the elite circle will not help it reach the bottom of our society. Remember to spend more on the base like your neighborhood grocer, the flower girl, the push cart vendor, etc. Spending it near the base will help India reduce her poverty than any charity.

  • They said 'Think before you spend' not 'Don't spend'. It's about the declining value of every thing we get in life. There are millions of blessings that we enjoy everyday. We take all of them for granted and hence don't attach any value to it.

If this video helps some one like me to think about what 500 rupees is to some one in dire need of it, it's worth the effort. It'd probably help me to give a little more to charity than spend it on one avoidable hairdresser.

  • A country can prosper only if people start spending. If I spend 500 Rs on a hair cut that means the barber who cuts my hair gets that money and he can spend that money on other things... its a cycle.. so spend money.. Staggered water can never be pure.

  • it's a very emotional kinda video for me......listening to dose poor kids n their wishes......man i really wish if someday i become something in life......i wud love to do some charity work for dese kids.........

  • @ketkidangayach

    exactly...thats my dream..!

  • yeah....thanx for ur reply

  • hehe np...cheers xx

  • Ofcourse a nice video, but not the 'think b4 u spend'. As long as you dont donate, spend it, so that someone else gets the chance.

  • "think b4 u Spend" WTF guys....that aint gonna do any good dudes....usse bharath ka uddhar nahi hone wala hain..... if at all we can do anything then that should be taking responsibility of this poverty and make a resolution to estinguish it by lending a helping hand to somany NGO workin out there for the same cause....... Blessed be

  • I had goosebumps after watching the video! Gr8 work..I will definitely think twice before I spend.

  • ill remember b4 spend money 4 ma comfort, nd try 2 save sum 4 donation, its required !

  • great movie. Its high time we start to change

  • wow! amazing vid!

    well though out! kudos! :)

  • movies , movies, movies... :\

  • Very nice.Good work

  • Even for this...Lot of Show and Bluffs from some "city INDIANS"!!!!...

  • fuck , work hard guys , dont find excuses , would be better idiea

  • none of u ppl told bout de corrupted givt.. even am an indian.. but u ppl gotta accpet t .. thses govt fukers jus tak al de fkin money... if i ve a 500 i ll buy a alcohol n stuff.. v cant do anythin bout t.. corrupted govt. is de reason for de state of india now..

  • the more the flow the more the income for the government...so dont worry the things goes on the same way..and it has to. if the rich dont spend it will any way goes to black and income for the govt decreases which leads the lack of funds to do some things...

  • The last instruction in the video ( " Think before you spend ! " ) is very faulty . If those people in the video who said they will spend on clothes, parties, branded underwear, food, hair cut stop spending money for the above said products/services, those poor people who get employment at those places will be jobless !!!

Think about Wealth CREATION also......do not be obsessed with Wealth DISTRIBUTION always. Everytime we spend money, wealth of the world increases.

  • This is really a good way of looking at things. We should really focus on creating more and more earning options for weaker sections of the society(And the rich can help in a great way in this ). That way it wouldn't matter if the rich spend money like as shown in this video. What really matters is that all people get the basic necessities required to survive.

  • Very worthy though..!!

  • futhure is bright of india small childern think of study

great keep it up much better hair cut fuck u all

  • kudos to d mind behind d masterpiece..!!

  • simply inspiring video ............ it tells wat 2 do next

  • buying luxurious houses and other such things even if they have a lot of it already....i don't say that they shouldn't buy all that stuff(it's their money after all)...but like i said with Money comes Power, they can really make a difference.....and people from the economically weaker sections can only watch such videos and say what a nice video it is. comment about poverty and then forget about all that once they go offline....

    i don't mean to offend anybody...i m just saying what i think

  • i agree with you...u are rite and why not directly name the ambani's your talking about instead of writing people who are successful are fighting amongst themselves

  • There is no point in talking directly because i m not trying to get their attention. It's only an example. I wanted to be generic. I have no faith in the grown ups/the previous generation. But i have great belief in the present generation or the GenX we call it. The kind of people who have commented here. I really believe that we can make a difference, bt even we are aimless in this context. Unless we make a collective effort, we can't do anything unless we are spiderman or supernman

  • Yeah and the only way to be different would be become like those powerfull fighting people you're talking about lol and then give it back...like gates and others, money needs to be earned to be redistributed and yes you are rite the previous generation who have been rich are just selfish...

  • 1 . Evrybdy wants to earn money nd so do i. Bt i don't thnk abt earning piles of money nd abt power. I jst want enough to sustain. nd i don't thnk i can earn the kind of money tht people like gates hav. Some people say it's easy to make money. Bt i beg to differ. It's not easy to make clean white money these days nd that's the only kind of money i am interested in. continued....

  • 2. Every now and then I read about politicians and other such high profile people who have piled up more money than their job allows them to. Wht to do in such situations??? They are the people who r supposed to run the government, the ultimate organization in any country. They don' t think themselves as our leaders but think they are rulers and their politics is influenced by their genealogy ( son gets a free pass to father's throne once he is gone). and this situation seems unsolvable

  • dude see even i understand the present situation...but c the days of tatas are gone when u could do biz with integrity and honesty....now when the system itself, the people to your right, left,up ,below all are wealth oriented u hav to behave like that...and we live in india where making money was never a clean way and is never going to be...at every point competitors, bureaucrats will interfere with you..continued in next comment

  • If u choose 2 be like all and if u r generous and give it back 2 the society, then wat is the harm in it ? but if u believe in ideologies like clean money and all and no corruption, believe me u cant earn a lot and as u yourself said the rich people can help a lot,so y nt get urself rich and act in the way u want the rich to act.,suppose u have a dream of owning a huge corporation 1 day and becoming a billionaire or things like that, are u gonna give up your dream coz of the dirty situation around?

  • 1. I get your point. It would be better to earn and share then to just sit and talk about corruption and other such social evils eating up the society. Whether we like it or not the world has turned around and there is not Utopia . One must be practical and trust me I am a practical guy. I have to be in order to survive, bt what i write here is what i want people to think about.

  • exactly mate...see corruption was present centuries ago during john rockefellers time,it is present today and will be there forever...its human nature and the public itself is responsible for it not the govt.,gone are the days of clean forest spiritual life...there can be an outbreak of war anytime and all that matters for ur family would be basic necessities, and if u are rich and powerfull then u can give it to these underpriviliged like gates buffett, rockefellers and all through philanthrophy

  • Well, I think we should stop this discussion now and conclude that some things need to be done even if they don't seem right. In the end, we do have to survive. So, until we meet again...

    Adios Amigo!

  • hmm

  • 2. I don't think the present situation is getting any better in future if we take these things for granted and don't atleast think about it.

  • yes! the video is VERY nice, but in the end what's the use, rich are going to still collect more and more money and poor will remain poor.

Money gives Power but those who have it( and i mean a lot of it) don't have time to see this video coz the only thing on their mind is to earn more and more and more.... I know there are peoplw in India who are filthy rich...they can really make a difference with what they have...instead they are fighting among themsevles, Continued

  • awesome video.....

for the first time i have seen an useful video @ youtube...

    BUT YOU KNOW SOMETHING ???

POOR PEOPLE LACKS LITERACY AND MONEY...

BUT THE RICH PEOPLE LACKS COMMON SENSE.....

PLEASE UPLOAD MORE VIDEO LIKE THIS...

  • no money no honey

  • hmm... for me phone recharge wasn't that a bad choice after all With 500 bucks I guess I would've probably done the same :)

Although, the real worth of the money is only understood by the needy and working class who toil really hard to earn money to make their lives better Wtf branded underwear is the most lame comment I came accross :XD

  • everytime i see dis video i feel y am i here i dont understand wat true life is, perhaps i need to genuinely choose between BEING WHAT AND BEING NOT' ....

  • a drastic reality of our country..some don't get food to eat and some waste food..y this inequality!!!!

and frankly the truth is there has been a lot of speaking abt it bt doing???

  • The video raises a valid point, but the conclusion is wrong.

The upper-middle class and all the rich people SHOULD spend! That contributes money to the economy. Well, obviously it would be useful if they donated that money to the people that need it, but since that is not likely - we should encourage people spending - 500 Rs for a haircut = 200 Rs for the salon manager + Rs 100 for consumables + Rs 100 for Overheads + *Rs 100 for a working barber* - which he wouldn't have got, if you thought!

  • nice video but..whoz gonna help them???

  • nice one man hope its wakes INdianz Up.!

  • Thanks for raising awareness of the great social divide that exists in our country today! Many if us are actually aware of it, but do little towards it.. I think films like these definitely carry the message through to where it should and should help significantly in bridging the divide.

    Many Thanks

    Ashish

  • awsum vedio..

  • ooops my goodness.... who made this video?...... you shook up my entire mind and soul in five minutes...... I remember now what I was forgetting for such a long time...... thanks a million times for sharing

  • MY god awesome video!

  • Wow, such a great idea, simple yet so powerful. Very thought provocative.

  • honestly speechless...

  • Wow awesome video.

  • Really this show how different people think and what there perceptions are . Amazing piece of work.

  • so very true... good job.

  • I love You!!! To Take the Time and make such a sweet video, Thank You!! you made by day :)

  • hats off to the video maker bro.. we need to spread awareness, ppl need to spend their resources more to help each other instead of extravagance and pointless indulgences!!

    peace for all!

    love it!

  • watching dis video i can feel dat everybody has it's own priority...and yes simply d thing is as simple as dat who has more money for it even doesn't matter but for them who's not able to fetch it easily matters alot... one more point if our dear politician can watch dis vid and get some inspiration then plz invest money in education sector as much as possible...because education is d only way get poverty out of dis country..

  • Don't think before spending as advised, it will create only economic slow down. Money does not get lost it just changes hand.

Natural resources like Water, Oil, Tree,Food are limited so think before wasting those, that would help to save the environment.

  • I guess you did not get the message.. They are not advising you to save the money or not to spend the money... in fact they are advising you to use it in sensible manner..and if you have it in abundance...you should try to do something for those who barely meet their both hands..

  • It is very dramatic and sympathetic concept to help poors. It is short term solution and does not help in long term unless very planned and organised at mass level.

Only economic growth can help all people of country for long time. For economic growth Our country needs more spending even if it is for luxury items.

Biggest evil against poor is corruption. If you can curb it , we have enough to provide each person food and shelter even in free economy without help of any help programmes.
