In May of 1961, I took a road trip with my parents. We left our home in Grand Rapids, MI headed for Chicago & got on Route 66 staying on it all the way to LA where my sisters lived in sunny weather the whole distance. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. This music played on the car radio several times, like the backdrop to my favorite TV show at the time. Now Route 66 is a mere memory, and a great one at that!

route 66 was one of the most important highways in the us, it stands for freedom and the wild years, were u got your harley and made a tour through us, in a way a big symbol for freedom with a lot of style, like the inns and hotels which where placed every where at the route, but today 66's glory is faiding with hotelcompanys, mc donals instead of inns and the new ways for transportation like new better routes and a much more bigger aircraft capacity. It's mainly I-40 now. But it the historic part turns off into little towns and stuff. If you've ever seen the movie cars it kind of explains alot about it.

So at the age of 61 I discover John Mayer, I looked around and found that he has played with Clapton and even Buddy Guy. Them folks do not play with armatures. John Mayer is great and this cover version is so good.

To those of you who have strong opinions about who is the best, try to understand, music at this level is not a competition, it is art.

For an old bluesman who have played in a band since 1964 it it so great to see that young people follow in the footsteps of the Bluesmasters.
