The walk-around is done by getting into cockpit view mode (Ctrl+O), and then using the mouse to look around. To pan left and right, up and down, you use the arrow keys. To move forward, you use the PgUp and backward is PgDn key. You can also pan left and right with the Q and E keys... but that disables the mouse control for tracking.
Great and realistic! I love the way how you add every single detail, from lights to throttle, from windows to seats. Can't wait to see what you release next! Definitely subscribing.
I'm not using any head tracking. I'm using mouse view. Yes, even for this video.
I am ordering TrackIR 5 today, though, and I'll be using LinuxTrack as software (which I've already downloaded and installed). It looks promising. I've read several reports from other Mac users who say that it works well for them, so now I'm going to be trying it.
My experience has always been that X-Plane gets much better FPS than FSX on the same hardware. A lot can be done with graphic settings, such as Anti-alias, pixel shaders, population of trees, cars, buildings, etc. Some of these settings are REALLY expensive, without actually really needing them. X-Plane 9 runs quite smooth even on old computers, if tweaked accordingly.
@danklaue No, i don't like it. Just because i don't wanna install 70GB if i want to travel around the world. I'm happy with FSX. Also it got totally horible VC and 2D cockpit...
This plane is amazing. Carenado did an awesome job. It looks great and flies great. And it's on sale for $11.48 until December 25!

It's in the manual. :) You press the little red button on the dash in front of you.

Does anybody know if Carenado will release his Cessna 208 Caravan for X-Plane?
heavybubble41 1 year ago
@heavybubble41
Carenado is working on releasing their whole fleet for X-plane. So yes, the Caravan is coming to X-Plane.

I never thought I'd be the one to type this on any youtube comment section...
but could you please let me know what the name of this song is.
My wife walked in the room and caught me ogling this "airplane porn"
She says she really likes the music.
I on the other hand could care less, but am astonished at the amount of detail and hard work that was put into this plane.
very nice. I might buy this one for my boys birthday present.
(he just joined air cadets)

Very nice Dan. I love the way you implemented the color burn on to the fuse from the beacon light. Thats a nice touch. Well done my friend.

You'll need a faster pc to run XPlane. My Pentium 4 /3.0 gHz will barely run it.

I wish there were so many functions in VC in FSX version, like circuit breakers, time changing and so.... Nice video man...

@BJHawk53 it got totally horrible VC and 2D cockpit? That, my friend, totally depends on the airplane you get.
Also, you don't HAVE to install 70 GB of global scenery... you can install the part of the globe you wish to fly to.
X-Plane 10 should be out within the next few months... I'm sure you'll change your mind by that time.
