  • Is the volume supposed to drop when in sequence mode? When I sequence something, the volume drops significantly. What am I doing wrong?

  • I've had my workstation for over a year and you can listen to a sequence on my channel. But I have 10 other songs stuck in the Korg now because of issues I continue to have with touch sensitivity, (it goes soft to LOUD instead of giving feeling) and problems finding the proper arrangement/selection of sounds to make it real/not cheesy. And where can I access drum patches? I'm doing them from scratch.

  • Is there a tutorial in existance that shows how to change the meter and record? Everytime I try, on my Triton, it reverts back to 4/4 as soon as it gets to where I start recording. Everybody glosses over what to do here, and it's infuriating!!!!!

  • when i press record the metronome does not start. also it stays at 1:01 and doesn't change, what do i do about this? is my keyboard broken?

  • Only channel 1 seem to make sounds, not the other 15. And I want to be able to, for example I'd like to have choir and organ from B3-B6 and Trombone, French Horn and Strings from B1 to A3, how to I separate different sounds like that in Combi?

  • @ErikJonssonMusic

on my axiom61 i have to press glob chan and then change channel that way. Ie its on midi 1...so the channels 01...If i want to play the second instrument I have to change that to 02. So on my midi keyboard, press glob channel 02...Check how to change midi channel on your midi keyboard.

  • Okay, I have a problem, every time I use pro tools to import my tracks from the sequencer into pro tools, there's a starting time glitch right in the first beat of the recording in each track. it only happens right there at the beginning and I've updated all the latest firmware updates from the site. And the glitch is never there during playback on the actual m 50 but yet appears to occur during track by track importing into pro tools even though the midi/slave control is working

  • How do you record the audio for these videos? Do you just use a microphone?

  • Dont expect computer-integration to work, Korg dont update their USB-drivers unless there's brand new gear around to sell... As such Mac users that have updated their systems since november cant connect any of their Korg gear to their computers anymore - and still no support... Similar problems are increasing for windows users as well, though they are so far more sporadic... Mind you, the USB-drivers are atm over 10 months old...

  • HI Rich, I just got my m3 - 61 last week and got trouble with the USB PENDRIVE. don't know how to format and save sequence. seems to be easy but don´t get it. when turning the power on the files are not saved...help please ! thank's

(sorry for my english i'm from argentina)

  • The problem I have is that when I'm writing on the sequencer (I'm just a beginner), I can work it all out and add a drum track etc, but then I run out of drum beats and I don't know how to add more bars in for the drum track. Does anyone know? Much appreciated. :)

  • @corvetteflorida I own a pa2x, and it doesn't have that feature. There are some updates that I haven't try yet. I hope that they come with it. I felt very dissapointed when I started working on the pa2x sequencer.

  • Please help me...can't find P2 controllers for 'FOOT CONTROLLER' to program my damper pedal who works wrong.

  • Does the PA2X have this same sort of track looping capability?

  • Thanks that looks easier than I would have thought. This is a great set of videos to learn this board. I have not been doing any song writing or playing / programing since 1996, so I have a huge amount of learning to do.

  • my Korg m3 also gets stuck in track 1. It will let me change tracks right when I turn it on, but then I can't hear anything unless I am in track one. Very frustrating.

    Any solutions?

  • can u tell any one, how to install OS into M3 version1.0.1???????

  • awesome! i got 7,777 view!

  • I don't have a velocity meter in the record menu as he does. Was that feature eliminated in the Expanded upgrade?

  • No, it was actually added in the Xpanded update. You should see them in COMBI and SEQ modes, in the "Prog 1-8/9-16" tabs and the "Mixer 1-8/9-16" tabs. If you don't, look for a small button in the upper-right, next to the Category button, that says "Vel Mtr." Touch that, and they should appear.

  • This keyboard is just awful, cant wait to get rid of it now. I cant even change tracks when using sequencer mode, im just stuck in track 1. You guys at Korg are useless also. Ive shelled out £1000 and you cant even answer a question.

  • To change tracks in the sequencer, just touch the arrow below the number and title of the song (i.e. NEW SONG), and choose the desired track from the drop-down list.

Alternately, you can touch the text next to the arrow, and then use the value slider or number pad + ENTER key to choose a track.

  • I know how to do it, ive done it before. Its just stuck in track 1.

  • Sorry to hear about your issue. Just to make sure you know, you can't change tracks while recording.

If this keeps happening, please contact your nearest Korg distributor for more help.

  • I know, It has been fine before. I use to have to let it warm up for about 20 minutes before it'd let me change tracks, now it just doesn't do it at all :( I will contact them anyways! Do you think they would be able to sort the problem out then?

  • They can either help you fix the problem, or help you take the next step and get it fixed. If you're in the UK, the Technical Support telephone number is 01908-857130 .

  • SuperhelterYNWA, I had a similar problem with the sequencer on my OASYS but I found out that the problem was coming from a pad that was holding a silent note. If a pad or the half-damper is holding a note - and sending midi info - then the sequencer tracks won't change. I just recalibrated my pads and everything was fine.

  • Did this problem happen for ages though, i.e when you turn it off, then back on again? mine has been like this for months now. So should I just fiddle about with the pads? I appreciate you trying to help me by the way!

  • Yes, it happened for months. Sometimes the tracks would work on the sequencer after I'd fiddled about so I used to think I'd found the solution but then when I turned it on again it wouldn't work. The problem can be caused by a problem with the pads or by the half-damper pedal. Go to global mode and, using the page menu drop down, recalibrate them both. I'm optimistic that your sequencer will then be fine.

  • The 6th pad doesn't work... Do you think that its that then? I dont know why it doesnt work though?!?! :-(

  • My 6th pad started not to work either but it does now (as does the sequencer). And the 1st combi kept coming on when I turned the instrument on. (I think both of these probs had arisen after I accidentally didn't shut the OASYS down properly). Now everything's in perfect working order. Have you tried resetting everything from global mode?

  • Yep it all works now, i sent you a message below this one thanking you and everything and I really do mean that too!!!

  • @SuperhelterYNWA its awesome you might not know its functions

  • can someone please make a tutorial like this on pa 500 sequecer? im looostt

  • I have no trouble recording, but how can i get my music off of the korg and on to a comp? Please help!

  • got my m50 :)

this vid helped a lot thanks!

  • I'm just about to buy the M3-88 XP and was looking for a short introduction. This is above all my expectations. Thanks alot!

  • Thanks for the very helpful videos.

  • I wand to make style, a my way, plese I don not

  • Korg's sequencers are so easy to understand. Very easy to get into and get your compositions down.

  • Yeah but how do i get my compositions off of the korg?

  • I have a USB dongle and when i put it in the comp it wont recognise it.

  • Maybe the usb cable is just a charger connector and not a dongle? If i'm wrong then try getting a driver for your cable. USB is the only way I know how to connect. Also have you checked the mannual if you havent got it its downloadable.

  • Well I put the dongle into my Korg and manage to save it ok, I just cant get it on to my pc. Ive checked the manuel also. Do you think it's possible to get my music on to my comp at all? I appreciate the help too. Nobody from Korg is replying to me at all :(

  • Well. I don't use the korg but the motif xs. Is there a way to save your work as MIDI or mp3 files and put it to a flash or thumb drive (Pen) Then you could transfer it to the comp.

Also the MOTIF came with a software cd which installed A program allowing me to connect t the comp.

Don't try too hard to get customer support. Sometimes u wont get it :)

  • I was actually looking at buying the motif xs, I just need it for basic recordings, demos etc... Are the sounds good?

  • You should have got a software called m3 editor. And I am not sure if korg needs mLAN. Google it to find out more.

Could you tell e what speakers you use?

  • Yeah I had a disc that came with it, I'll google it and see what I can come up with! I might have to sell it, which breaks my heart!

I use basic PC speakers, Logitech ones, cost me around £40.

  • You can mix your song down to a 2-channel WAV file, that can be burned onto a CD, converted to an MP3, etc. You can also transmit audio to your computer's DAW with the optional EXB-FW expansion.

To save a WAV file to a USB drive, Make sure the drive is plugged in and recognized. In SEQ mode, go to the Sampling/Audio In tab, open the drop-down menu, and select Auto Sampling Setup (the last one in the list, you'll have to scroll over). Switch to "2ch Mix to Media." Continued...

  • If that option is greyed out, switch to MEDIA mode, open the drop-down menu, touch the Media Info tab, and select "Scan USB device." Then go back to the Auto Sampling Setup page as described above.

Now, back in SEQ mode, press the Sampling REC button. It should blink for a few seconds. After it stops blinking, press the adjacent START/STOP button. It should light up. Continued...

  • Press the Sequencer START/STOP button to play the song back from its current location. Let it play all the way through, then press the Sequencer START/STOP button at the end. After you stop the sequencer, the two Sampling lights (REC and START/STOP) should go dark.

There is now a 2-channel WAV file on your USB drive, entitled "TAKE0000.WAV" (If you repeat this, the next file will be called "TAKE0001.WAV," and so on). Just plug the USB drive into your computer, and copy it over.

  • way to go, Korg!! keep' em coming!

  • thanks!

  • Thank You Korg. This is just what I needed.

I am used to sequencing on Cubase, so this was spot on.

Two videos like this save hours of sifting through the manual for me.

Many thanks and keep the series going!

  • Thanks! More please....
