There's no context for this video, but if I had to guess, it looks like a training roda where they're specifically focusing on take downs. It was awesome to watch. I wish my vingicivas looked like that -- right now I can only catch beginners.
1:30 is amazing (au plus tesoura), but lacks of the neccesary conversation, the one dodging (esquiva) is too slow. I'd rather like 0:45. In this one, the black guy starts a meia lua de compasso, the other one launches a "banda" to takedown the meia lua, but suddenly the meia lua is turned into a tesoura de costas, BRAVOOOOO
I found the lyrics by googling ' olha veja capoeira".
This song was on one of the muzenza cd's. If i remember correctly 19 or 21. Not sure wich number on the cd. I starts about 1 minute into the song so it's hard to find. If i got some time i'll search on my external hard disk, it's got to be on there somewhere.
does anyone know the name of the song that starts at 0:45 till 1:03, I know i got it somewhere but i have no wich cd ist was on. Please!!! BTW: nice takedowns, they use rasteira em pe, if i remember the name correctly alot, i don't see that often.
@daviddewanto These are the lyrics. I Like this song a lot, lots of energy!
Oh god... I love it! Some of the most beautiful tesouros and rasteiras I've ever seen. Very effiicent... But this also highlights why us Angolieros don't typically kick higher than waist level. High kicks just beg for a nice takedown...
I'm really getting into this... your group reminds me alot of my group, look up ACER capoeira in your search and you'll find us. Our style is more martially oriented and take downs and hand strikes are taken into account. The whole meaning of the name Martial Art is an "art of war" so like any art MA's worldwide are evolving and this shows the more martial side of capoeira. But like any martial art it depends on the mentality of the practitioner and they way they were taught how to fight.
This is a good example of what I think of as "practical capoeira". Great teakdowns and sharp technique. What is lacking however imo is the "beauty" of the game. It's a little too robotic. Capoeira has after all an aesthetic side, which sort of steps aside for the efficiency of take-downs here. I've heard many instructors say that the rasteira should be a surprise, a secret weapon, and should be used sparingly. Difference of style I suppose; noone can deny the excellence of technique here though.
very nice, greats takedowns .. I need help. I like the first song on the video like these "seguro capoeira eo eo seguro capoeira ea ea" if someone can help me to find that song please.... thanks and axe pra todos

nice moves but they are to stiff. Capoeira has to have fluid motions and must be relaxed when played.
