  • UUUUSSSSSSSEEEEELLLLEEEESSSSSSSS

  • Blasphemy! How is this possible! Sick! Sick, I tell you!

  • "Hey mommy I want that!!"

PURE EVIL. Packaged goods companies marketing to children -- like they always do!

  • This makes me sick to my stomach. Way to get into little kids brains even more than usual. Wake up people! As if there aren't enough bright blinking electronic boxes in our lives to distract us from ourselves. This is disgusting, useless, and just down right stupid. How do you recycle the box? As if anyone who even buys sugary cereals for the blinking lights would care.

  • Packaging, the new product.

  • Remember that time we wasted a ton of precious metals on magazine covers and cereal boxes? Remember that time that magazines and cereal boxes don't always sell out on time and just get thrown away?

  • Really genious but... how many cost one of this box ?

  • Its been over 100 years since Nikola Tesla demonstrated wireless transmission of power and lighting up cereal boxes is the best we can achieve. Sad very very sad.

  • Cute tech demo, but talk about totally missing the boat on current packaging trends! More is less, sustainability, recyclability, and reducing landfill waste is all we hear about. Additionally, in an era where food companies are frantically trying shave fractions of pennies from their food and packaging costs how would this increased packaging expense make for a viable ROI ?

  • Hey, all you reactionaries: it's just a DEMO OF TECHNOLOGY. Everyone is acting like this is new mandatory packaging, and stores will soon be Vegas strips. I'm sure this will have more usage in movie posters, kids toys, etc. Why does everything have to get a reaction like it's Jurassic Park?

  • Two words. Kill yourself.

  • how to transform your supermarket into a lame discotheque!!

  • now, I respect the technology that these things demonstrate, and hope these are only intended as a simple tech demo... because packaging practices are ALREADY incredibly wasteful... this is just ridiculous for something you will only throw away. hell, you probably can't even properly recycle these because it's metal in plastic in cardboard. so unless you wanna spend 6 minutes per box with an x-acto knife to separate all the parts, your only option is to just toss it in the trash.

  • This just makes me so mad!!! The only one gaining somethin from this are the cereal selling companies. They do this only for money, and do not care about the kids getting fat, or our planet and its future. Only stupid people would buy this shit!!!

  • I'm not buying either of those

  • quei cereali colorati fanno schifo al cazzo! sono veramente immangiabili!

  • Might be in 3D soon, hahaha.

  • @colamonstrosity lmfao that would be epic. It would make shopping fun at least :P

  • i agree with the top rated comment here, just more crap for the landfills. why not have a reusable container, you take it to the store and fill it up with your cereal, no wasted packaging.

  • @SomeFunkyDude79 That would actually be a great idea. But we know that would never pull though. The stigma with items like these is 'buy and throw'. People are just too used to that. Unless the prices per box went up real high and people would have to keep them. Probably then, buying a box would feel like an investment. But until that time comes, our planet's doomed.

  • @addicted2music21 They have loose grains, cereals, nuts, flours and stuff like that at most health food stores. You fill a bag with them. It works great. They should do it at all stores.

  • Can we reuse those tech stuff on our own?

  • Lot's of comments here about price and environment- I also read connectivity to computer as possibly updating expiration (if linked to calendar- that's cool!)

  • every bowl you eat kills a polar bear somewhere...

  • @PrettyKindOfDanger *drops bowl

I only ate half-way through the bowl. Is the polar bear still alive?? *sobs

  • @addicted2music21 it's hearts still beating but its soul is gone smh**

  • @PrettyKindOfDanger b....b...but..... nooooooooo!!!! :'( all those cute lil polar bears.. :-O DAMN YOU eCoupled! now i'm scarred for life.

  • "Now what we're doin' with this packaging.." is wasting money.

  • Hmmm... It's not Jetpacks buut... I think I can safely say I feel like im finally living in the future! XD

  • How clever....How creative....ZZzzzzzzzzz

More junk to needlessly add to the Electromagnetic Interference smog....

  • This is a blatant way to input media into children ... sickening actually

  • Wow, physics' really cool. 8-]

  • Save yourself the extra money and buy the cheap stuff for a buck. Better yet, serve your kid a healthy breakfast.

  • THIS IS AWESOME. WHY WOULD ANYONE NOT WANT MORE AWESOME BLINKING LIGHTS EVERYWHERE YESSSSS

  • I know times are tough but i guarantee you kids will continue to eat cereal whether the shit glows or not. How about some technological advancement that actually advances the world

  • instant nite-light

  • That is actually not a bad idea. Cereal is aimed at kids. Even strategically placed at their eye level to get their attention. If you ever pay attention most stores have best seller on the vary bottom shelf, childrens cereals next 2 shelves, then adult cereals on the remaining shelving. It is all done to be at eye level of the target age group. Also vary bottom shelf is the worst retail position, so most staples are on the bottom because people are willing to search them out.

  • @AGENTtamerlane im 18 and they still get me like im a little kid trix are for kids like me lol

  • This will engender the ire of every parent seeking to keep his kid off of junk food cereals.

  • A trip to the store on acid is going to be a whole new experience!!

  • FAKE!

  • I hate cheerios but now that it lights up im want it breakfast noon and night... Wanna take baths in it, have sex with it, and put it in my gas tank as fuel.

  • Fry: "Future-istic!"

  • It's the greatest invention since the Self-heating can.

  • This is like a cheezy futuristic product from Back to the Future 2

  • ...Why.

  • OK Now that box of cereal is worth the $5.99 they want.

  • Fools! Should have made light up Toilet Paper first.

  • "but now what we're doing with this packaging-"

    what?! we'll never know...

  • People gonna buy cereal because of the taste of the cereal, not the flashyness of its box. Good demonstration, but I hope it only stays as a demonstration of the capabilities of this technology.

On the other hand, I want this ink circuitry thingamabob on my Megan Fox posters over here. Glowin' in and glowin' out bro.

  • I'm not even an environmentalist but this screams 'waste' not to mention annoying - I hope it stays as a tech demo. How are you supposed to recycle cereal boxes if they do that?

  • Hacked to display porn in 5… 4…

  • Minority Report, anyone?

  • As a society, don't we have anything better to do with our time and creativity?

  • I kinda wish they would use this technology for something more innovative than flashy cereal boxes.

  • I can already barely stand to go into Bed Bath and Beyond because of the 20 or so infomercials playing in each product area, all blaring at you, and now this? Argh.

  • They look like slot machines.

  • Impressive indeed. But do we really need more blinking shit in the supermarket?

  • @Abteilol

    perfect response.

  • watch?v=ccCJfwnFU_Q

  • yes, exactly what the world needs: more garbage and electronics to add to our landfills!

  • @ghostdein1 Wow good point. I was just about to make a generic "THIS IS EPIC!!1!1!" comment, but the waste that this would create would be ridiculous.

  • @ghostdein1 the panel gives off wireless electricity to the box of cereal... the box is jus a cardboard box with a few wires going through em. You can work a blender on the panel too... along with other electronic devices.

  • @ghostdein1 blasphemy

  • @ghostdein1 blasphemy- burn the witch

  • @ghostdein1 yea, more useless technology; at least the purpose is.

  • @ghostdein1 Let The Kids Have Fun.

  • Smart, but annoying.

  • WTF!

I am getting annoyed even thinking about this. The world most definately does NOT need more blinking, noisy bullshit.

  • One word: AMAZING!!
