  • That's what happens when you sharpen your pencil too fast

  • That's what happens to pencil sharpeners with the advent of cheap mechanical pencils!

  • My sharpener exploded :D it looked like a firework

  • evr considered to look for sacrificial anodes from water boilers of heating systems?

  • of corse it burns its what they use to ignite thirmite

  • Lit one up for my daughter to see last night using pliers on the cooker. Then threw it out the back door. Problem!.... it had been raining so the ground was wet. It exploded! and sent Napalm like white hot spray inside my kitchen. Setting fire to the frame of the door and the mat. Word of caution... only do this when its dry! and definately dont try putting it out with water!

  • @originxxx LoL retard.

  • @ArsonistInUrFirewall Yes that's what my nine year old called me too!

  • full scrreeens all fucked up on this video

  • wow i got sharpeners banned at my class cause we would grab the bladed part and melt them onto plastic knifes and start cutting each outher

  • @carlnardo ?????

  • Dont look directly at it ;)

  • Blyantspidere er der magnesuim i.

  • Endelig en fra Danmark

  • cuz its cheap to make them that way huh..

  • pudidotdk hvor kan jeg købe sådan en blyant spidser?:)

  • my pencil sharper have text MAGNESIUM sorry my bad english

  • i dont think it is magnesium i think its magnelium, an alloy of aluminum and magnesium

  • i bought a pencil sharpener looket almost identical to this one, i tested if it was mg for like a hour and came out its ALLUMINIUM! :(

  • is the blade the magnesium or the sharperner or both?

  • The sharpener body is usually a magnesium/aluminium alloy. The blade is just steel I would think, so if you want you can remove it before trying this.

FYI you can heat a sharpener like this until it's sparking and then put it in steam to get the same effect.

  • @TeamKillaaLolz the blade is steel because it has to be strong ..the casing is an alloy, which consists of aluminium and magnesium... aluminium shavings have a similar effect to magnesium when mixed with an oxidiser

  • I sandpapered down a peice of a sharpener to get magnesium powder today. I put it on my desk (!) and lit it. Now there's a little crater in my desk :(

The powder burns really nice and bright. Try this, but not on your desk like me! xD

  • OMG ROFLMAO LOL

  • waste of magnesium!

  • vinegar

  • FYI, the bubbles are actually hydrogen, which also burns.

    The chemical reaction is

    Mg + 2 HC2H3O2 --> Mg(C2H3O2)2 + H2 + Heat

  • Or Vinegar is just Bubbly :D

  • Good god man, you're so smart, can I be your friend...and learn the fucking simpler formula for acetic acid CH3-COOH

  • lol

  • @Strihnin thats methanoic acid dude....

  • @pipmdirector No go bro, H-COOH is methanoic...

  • @Strihnin aye that be true!

    my bad :D

    meant ethanoic acid XD

  • u just put water on that didn't u?

  • Oh! That's why they give you a small electric shock when you put your tongue between the blade and the sharpener... 5*

  • Sweet I always need a source of magnesium...lol

I have a few just like that.

  • it is mg. here in england loads of pencial sharpners made the same as that and there like 50p or $1. just stair white it burns.. unless u wana go blind.

  • OMG!!!

  • It definitly is magnesium, I can't buy pure magnesium powder here in Holland, so I use the magnesium from these pencil sharpeners in my pyro compositions! :)

  • when its burning pour some water on it >=)

    el magnesiumo

  • nice

  • Magnesium, right?

  • It definitely looks like Magnesium to me...
