It's all pretty neat stuff but I hope I'm not the only one who thinks the normal 2D organized desktop icons are the easiest and best way to use your files & icons.. It's why I like my PC so much because IRL all my shit is stacked on top of each other and I can never find anything.. now that you have this little engine going use it to make some nice pc games for Armorgames call one of them DRAGON CROSS

I want to see this application when you have one hundred of files. The benefit to have a virtual desktop is that space and physical dimensions don't matter. In this way you eliminate that benefit, making to tidy up your desktop frustrating as your room.

This looks completely useless. Progress, don't regress. What you call "expressiveness" is more commonly known as "mess". The rhyming stops here. That dumb technique that people use, having part of a pile stick out, is just because the real world it's hard to make a sub-folder in every folder. On a computer, not so much. if you ask me, the future is database driven file interaction, like how we interact with music files in iTunes for example. This is junk, sorry guys.

This looks awesome, really nice, nice graphics and all, but I don't really see it's usefulness. One of the reasons we use computer documents is that we don't want to end up with large piles of work. Having a bunch of documents on desk in this manner would just decrease my productivity... even after I get a hold on the gestures and stuff...

Ye this is cool but... what i was looking for is a program that makes the whole windows in 3D, and when i start per example videogames, i can watch them in 3D with the red-blue thingy like the movies we watch on TV.

there are programs to make movies 3d, pictures 3d, etc. but none i cant find for the whole windows :S

@zaqxen yeah google buy it so it's absolutely usefull... Not quite sure about it's usefullnes. It gets just less organised and more complex to manipulate, and you get a large waste of cpu and ram. I've tryed it and never did anything productive with it. It just melts the dissadvantage of a mouse to a real life phisics environement, so it's closer to a game than something usefull and productive. And it looks ugly.

interesting idea, but not very realistic :P i mean, you can't even see the file name, and imagine having hundreds of files just lying around. it might be a fun way to organize photos into piles to later put in folders, but it would not work as the primary file management function.

@topcat5665 because there was no use for it, at least until now. people either were not able to use something like this (no touchscreen, etc) and they are already used to the old ways. which i prefere very much, since this design would require a lot of training to use it efficiently as it looks... i think that this is a good way for people who don't want to get used to the old computer ways. which will improve and become more awesome, i'm sure.

Cool program! Obviously there was much thought and planning in the design. The concern lies in the amount of RAM and perhaps Hard drive space necessary for the the system to use the program. Or are you guys looking towards the future when the standard is 20gigs of RAM or when technology is more futuristic like the iPAD.

I actually use BumpTop daily. Something this video does not demonstrate, but that BumpTop is capable of, is search. If you type any letter, it instantly starts invoking a search for that letter. Type another letter, and it is searching for that two-letter word... keep typing your word, and it will continue to filter the search based on the word you are typing.

It does this by darkening all document icons, and making the matches glow. It's pretty effective for quickly searching documents.

This is a fantastic program- I found it very useful. I have a very powerful custom computer that runs several operating systems- but we have retained WinXP as most very expensive specialist engineering programs function very poorly on Vista and Win7 (which is shit).

Actually my son got me hooked on this.

Personally- I find it much more ergonomic- as you basically have 4 desktops (base +3 walls) and you can folders sort in terms of work priority.

For me- I like it a lot.
