Drew is decent at comedy that doesn't require any acting. His hoedowns are usually ok, his comments as a host are usually funny, and he can do simple stuff like questions only and props. Anything else, he sucks at, though. He should stay in his role as a host, as he's actually doing a decent job of that.

His new show is primarily ruined by the fact that he participates in all the sketches, instead of serving as a host.

@ChudFapper Agree. And the only reason his comments are funny(at times) is cause they are scripted and he has them on his card, and when he steps in for a hoedowns he probably knows the topic beforehand.

Drew is a realy awkward improv-er. He tries to be a part of some of the games but he never does as well as the others. Especially in Scenes-From-A-Hat, he always laughs at his own jokes. Leave the improv work to the masters Drew!

I don't think Drew was taught improv comedy like the others were. He has a tendency to "block" lines from other actors. When Greg asks if Drew has any solutions (1:25), Drew gives up this opportunity to gain information. Another example is in Helping Hands, where Drew tends not to participate in the physical humour.

Colin, however, is not only funny, but he works like a cold reader, starting with vague statements and gauging the audience's reactions to narrow down the answer.

Drew Carey is the reason I never watched Whose Line when it was originally shown in the U.S. Can hardly stand him, then or now. But I "discovered" Whose Line earlier this year and am now totally obsessed with Ryan Stiles ... and all the other guys, to a lesser extent. I've just never seen anything special about Drew Carey. To me, he laughs at himself too much, talks too fast, and is generally unappealing. But I'm very grateful to him for bringing us RyCol! :-)

It was interesting to watch Drew do this, even though it was clear that this game wasn't Drew's forte. However, I can imagine that in the first season, they were still trying to find Drew's role in the games, especially in light of the factt that Clive Anderson never did any games in the UK version.

BTW, there are a handful of Newsflash games where Ryan was the reporter. I know there is one with hippos, and I also think there is one with alligators.

Drew is really bad. He's not funny. Or maybe he is funny if he just stands up and tells jokes, but he's definitely NOT as talented as any of the others. He's like the guy in your class who wants really bad to be cool, and hangs around the cool people saying, 'Yeah!' and agreeing with them, but he's not cool. Except that he's only a little funny and he's hanging around with extremely funny and talented people trying to be part of it. When he's in a skit or something it's not as good.
