I couldn't find this on the site either; will post here. A good CFI believes in his student and has confidence in him. His body language will convey this to the student and it will impact the entire training process. By the same token, if the CFI is uncomfortable with anything (stalls, spins) the student will learn to be on comfortable too. If a CFI is comfortable with these, a fearful student will conquer his fears.
I have flown with many instructors, and I think one of the most important things is for a flight instructor to have their ego in check. Too many instructors treat their job as an opportunity to show off, or elevate themselves over the students. Also, a great instructor should always know the line between constructive criticism and putting a student down.
I don't think a great pilot is always made by a great instructor, I think a great pilot is one who is great despite a bad instructor.
hey couldnt find it on your website but what makes A great flight instructor is a Flight instructor who can teach the material right and who takes time for you to do them correct as he taught you and most important a flight instructor who gets you to pass your PPL

Respect comes to mind right away. It covers such a wide range of aspects.
Mutual respect - of each other and their goals
Respect - of the knowledge and responsibilities
Respect - of other aviators and their safety
Respect - of your own self, of the equipment you fly, of the duties you have
Respect in "fear" - if nothing worries you at all about a certain flight, you might be missing something.
That is a big one for me. I feel much more comfortable when my student takes his flight seriously.
