  • hello there if you ever have an issue in the future with the speed you can always use rubbing alcohol on the idler wheel and soak it for two hours and then let it drip dry and that should revitalize the idler to like new so i hope that this helps enjoy the garrard it is a very reliable unit and back then klh and garrard were a great combo

  • Hi pschwa

Nice table. The issue with the table wobbling is not really an issue with these machines. The table is die cast. It was not centered correctly when it was cast. The top of the table is not wobbling, the bottom looks like it is wobbling, but it is just a little off centered. The speed issue is just dried grease in the mech. If you play that from time to time, it may speed up. Otherwise you may want to re grease the mech.

  • the rubber on the idler wheel his went hard with age. I have the same recored player that had the same fault of speeding up slowly so i got a new idler wheel and it plays like brand new now :D

  • I have the same record player and my records will not drop, any suggestions?

  • Hello there, did you try spraying WD-40 on the axle of the idler wheel to loosen a bit? The 78 rpm issue: the rubber around the idler wheel maybe has some humidity, try using a cloth or toilet paper and rub wipe-dry the outer diameter of it and also wipe the gold axle of the motor (bottom largest diameter of the 78 speed). If you want to experiment idler wheel to slip 'less' against any speed of the gold '4-steps' piece shorten the spring of the idler by cutting it shorter 3 or 4 millimeters.
